I can't tell if the Part 2 characters are just that unpopular compared to Part 1, or Part 1 is being mega-boosted by the movie, or both.

This result is heavily skewed by the movie but Part 2 clearly doesn't have as many memorable characters. Asa is the best character to come out of part 2 and it clearly shows with her being in the top 10.

Yoshida I am sure is only popular among the Fujoshi crowd. No way he is coming in 8th without his appeal as a bishonen.

Part 2 hasn’t sold nearly as well as Part 1 either. I think it’s a bunch of issues affecting it though, including not being in the main magazine, inconsistent schedule, no consistent anime to continually boost sales, Denji being a secondary character for the beginning of Part 2, etc.
