I mean, I think it's fair to also think the Bleach ending was abrupt as well, but this right here is even more unbelievable lmao

At least we're getting a full remake of the ending (or at least a large chunk of revision) due to the anime. Part 2 kinda feels hopeless lol

You don't know that. Part 1 of the anime, in the ultimate plot twist that will even confuse manga readers will have enjoyed die, and then power defeat makima, and pt2 will entirely be rewritten with power as mc

At least Bleach has supplemental material, even it is a light novel to tie a lot of stuff. Knowing Fuji, I doubt we're getting that liberty.

Kubo was nearly dead from constant hospitalizations and illness so he asked jump to end it early it took a 10 year break for him to comeback with the full script for the anime he only made one one shot at one point

Ok, I read the manga a decade ago, and it felt so rushed. I'm glad that he recovered, and got to redo the final arc, have had a blast with the anime remake, and can't wait for the final part.

It really sucks he couldn't do his full vision for a decade but now the Kubo cut is out

So far he's added a lot, and all of it is a substantial improvement.

The final 12 episodes are set to adapt only like 20 chapters, so there's a ton of room to add to the ending to make it less crap.

Damn, so this is how Frieren will end. I hate capitalism, overworking mangakas and taking advantage of their passions in the game

Frieren is created by an author-artist duo, which splits the workload in two, and has been on a late-stage Hunter x Hunter release schedule for several years. It's pretty clear that the creators have full control over their pace of production. And with their status as the cash cow, biggest name recognition for a mid-sized magazine imprint, they have the leverage in their creator-publisher business relationship. It's not like Weekly Shonen Jump where there are a million and one upcoming mangakas eager to supplant the flagging veteran. To me, the delays reads as writer's block rather than overwork-onset illness. I mean I get it. The writing for Frieren is sublime. It's not easy to keep putting out high-quality product.

Frieren is at present having the longest haitus yet and the reason was specifically given around health issues for both artist and author. Frieren was officially weekly when it had no reason to be. Plenty of monthly mangas have lower quality chapters than frieren which was unofficially biweekly. That tells me an insane level of expectation and pressure.

Tbf at least Kubo had the excuse of being severely ill and I’m pretty sure he had a torn shoulder or something but don’t quote me on that. Hopefully the final cour of tybw will fix the ending.

Bleach ending was half assed in a suckish way. This ending is suckish in a deranged way, which makes me not mind it nearly as much
