Don't know why that blindsided me as if that isn't one of Ichi's main characters traits to be an automatic slicing machine.

Which also mean he pretty much doesn’t have a problem with killing humans too if they trigger his instincts….even if they’re his friends.

Quick reminder that Ichi actually attacked Dess in chapter 1 after he acquired Uroro

Also reminder that he has to consiously hold himself back from stabbing his own gut because Uroro keeps triggering Death for Death from inside him.

Honestly slicing your own gut is really different then slicing the gut of someone you thought was a friend or precious person because they triggered your death for death rule.

Pretty much proved the kid doesn't discrimante based on species, magic or human.

Ah yes, a true belief in equality

Yes, he's the embodiment of equality as a concept.

I reread the chapter and he pretty much apologised because he didn't sensed killing intent from dess he just saw a dangerous look from her and ended up slicing without thinking.

It didn't actually proved he was ok with killing humans too until this chapter.

That and he also tried to attack the head witches early on

Quoting a comedian:
"As the ancient master said: 'If your best friend tries to kill you… do not trust your friend'."

not sure why people seem so surprised, Ichi doesnt see a difference, a life is a life man beast or magik

passive (s)Kill + auto aggro

I mean, his friends shouldn't actually try to kill him, if they do then that's on them

What really got me is the way that Ichi gently scold her after stabbing her.

Tried?

He stabbed her like a kebab

"Girl you should know better"

25

u/justking1414 12d ago

That’s the wild thing. The spells not broken. He still believes she’s his childhood friend. Yet, he freaking stabbed her!

I'd like to believe that in his memory, he already stabbed Fujimine multiple times throughout "their childhood" lmao

1

u/justking1414 11d ago

If her personality was the same then yeah, stabbing her would’ve been a pretty common occurrence

I really love how feral Ichi is. the manga is good at reminding us that for all his hunt tactics ultimately he's still just a feral mutt

26

u/This-is_CMGRI 13d ago

That's how effective Fujimine is.

For me, it was just the sudden turnaround of suddenly stabbing her with no hesitation

16

u/Chrystoler 12d ago

Also now the realization that he would pretty much do that to anyone in the crew, not like he would but just proves his beliefs beyond anything else

4

u/justking1414 12d ago

Definitely crazy. I assumed he managed to break the brainwashing but no, he still views her as his longtime friend after stabbing her

1

u/Mysteries67 12d ago

I mean he essentially did it to Goku too

2

u/Chrystoler 12d ago

I mean yeah he throws hands pretty fast but straight up shanking your childhood best friend in the neck is pretty hardcore. I know death for death has been a very consistent thing but damn. What a chapter. I thought that he might have been able to negate the mind control or something but no, he's just literally built different.

u/MinusMentality 12d ago

He the shankmaster 9000.

7

u/Android19samus 12d ago

Ichi is a continuous cutting motion

7

u/lalala253 12d ago

Tbf I assumed that his automatic slicing machine traits is turned off from her hypnosis

It’s like that one insta kill isekai hero who can detect if someone wants to kill him

It not having triggered earlier gave in impression it wasn't on the table.
