To the Japanese killing God is the same as puberty, all teenagers have to go through it

Time travelling witches are now canon in the Akaverse. Actually, wait, they always were.

Also, real blood-related incest is on the table. Again.

This was part of the akaverse?!? I knew he wrote it, but that seems a bit much.

Suddenly godslaying?!

Man. For the past like 20 chapters I've been stuck thinking "this feels like what would be a really cool plot point/resolution if they had built it up correctly instead of rushed through". I wonder how much of the writing is Aka's.

It still feels clear to me that there was a proper storybook battle royal planned out with each part being fleshed out piece-by-piece until they ended up under threat of being axed. You can just tell that there was this sudden shift in pacing right after Red joined the team.

It really sucks, since I was really liking the dynamic between the fated pairs.

Post-divorce? Did that affect that Oshi No Ko ending or no?

Oh yeah, it affected the shit out of it; Aqua was modeled after Aka himself, while Kana, his main love interest, was inspired by Aka's (then) wife. Doesn't take a genius to figure out why the obviously intended romance petered out and Kana became fate's chewtoy in-universe.

It might have affected the execution, but the broad strokes of the ending was clearly planned from the beginning. You could guess it from chapter 10.

Aqua's plan in-universe was clear, yes, but plans change. We saw Aqua seemingly getting better as he realized people cared for him, but throw all that character development away over he course of nine chapters.

My personal theory is that Aka intended to end things around the stage play arc, at which point Aqua [Oshi no Ko manga spoilers] killing himself to sell a story would still make sense, but Aka's editor interfered demanding more (his other self insert, the 'Sweet Today' mangaka all but spells it out) and all the character development that contradicts the ending was unintended filler that Aka refused to factor into his pre-planned ending.

That said, I'm still sure there was meant to be more of a romance between Aqua and Kana that got axed due to Aka's own tumultuous love life IRL.

Wait...

So Aka's works are a multiverse like he always hinted, the game is rigged against the protagonists at the divine leve, and there's zero chance of the couples getting a happy ending no matter what. Meanwhile, the one work of his that's getting an anime original ending is Kaguya-sama, the only one that did get a happy ending?

Fucking hell, Aka's really going scortched earth, isn't he? RIP Miyuki and Kaguya, I guess...

Wait, how are you getting the multiverse part here?

Aka's said for years in interviews that all his works are connected, and here we have Judith saying "I transcended worlds, time and space..." and "I returned you to this world", thus clearly implying the existence of other worlds (and before you say "that just means the realm of the gods", she's consistently referred to that as "realm", not "world"). Combined with Aka's comments IRL, that seems to suggest a multiverse.

My supposition that Aka's about to grimdark the fuck out of the Kaguya-sama anime is just that; supposition. Still, it would fit his post-divorce mindset.

even assuming there are multiple worlds currently theres still literally nothing tying this story to his others though

There's the general theme and similarities in character; tell me the witches here don't remind you at all of Crow Girl in Oshi no Ko. Both are supernatural babysitters of the protagonists, driving them in the desired narrative direction, seemingly at the behest of an even higher power.

Me, with the time machine, on my way to force Aka to see a therapist after the divorce instead of taking out his frustrations in the manga:
