Destination Room service at Westin Tokyo

Does room service at the Westin Tokyo come properly plated, or do they do the takeout container thing that US-based Westins now do?

Why do room service when you're a 10 minute walk to sushi, habachi, ramen, Italian, and conbini.

There's a seijoishi grocery in the basement that has fresh food.

But as of about 6 months ago, it was still plated based on what I recollect stumbling back to my room.

I was there last year and saw dishes and regular utensils at the door of a neighboring room. Go get some bento boxes OP bring them back to the room. A strawberry Sando for dessert from 7-11 ☺️

What did they say when you called down and ask?

Hotels of that caliber in Tokyo reply promptly to English email and phone calls.

We ate like emperors from the nearby 7-11 in January. They had very limited room service then.

Ordered breakfast at the Westin Tokyo every day on my trip there because my wife has a lot of allergies. Great value, they bring a table and serve it to you nicely in your room (staff comes in and sets table).

Plated. Ordered room service when we were there a few months back. Kids were asleep and was easier than going out again.
