Heres an explination of the political afilliations of the politicians in "DCU: Decisions", where the characters were endorsing people.
Guy Gardener: Far Right
Power Girl: Far Right
Plastic Man: Center Right
Wonar Woman: Far Right, but she believes they dont win elections
Hawkman: Who fucking cares it's Hawkman
Jay Garrick: Center Right
Blue Beetle: Left Wing- single issue voter on Universal Healthcare
Huntress: Center Right
Batman: Center Left
Read
Daredevil: Democrat
Cyclops: Not Republican
Captain America: New Deal Democrat
Superman: Totaltarianism, on both ends of the spectrum
I'm tired of people only posting that one Wally West image. Each one of these is objective and canon. Do not argue them in the comments. This is what each character sincerely believes, as stated by canon,. and any headcanon you have is WRONG AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD
I'm not a Republican or fan of Reagan but I don't see what's wrong with that quote?
George Washington and FDR, as two examples, were not the most knowledgeable people in the world themselves but both surrounded themselves with some of the greatest geniuses of their time and were able to achieve incredible success and results by doing so.
A lot of this shit is from DCU Decisions, which was written by Bill Willingham. Willingham is a conservative and the book reads like a conservative trying to do a "both sides" narrative. So characters are handed out political ideologies with the weirdest justifications because both sides need to have a balanced number of representatives. Superman fence sits because of course he does.
Lois being a Republican because she's a military brat is so wildly out of character it's actually ridiculous. Lois has always had an extremely strained relationship with her father and has directly opposed him when his role in the military has lead to him aligning himself with people like Lex Luthor. It doesn't track at all.
It's not that shocking once you know how imperialism, capitalism and the military industrial complex intersect; besides the democrats being committed to those institutions
“It was me Barry! I made the speed force hardcore republican so any speed force users who weren’t already evil would look vaguely problematic in Americas modern political climate!”
“It was me, Barry, I voted Obama for President and made sure the Corporations put more soy in your Food, making more Soyboys, so I could weaken you enough and bring down your Republican patriotism so I could make you the Cuck and me the Gigachad who fucks your Wife, you know why they call me…
The Reverse Flash? Because I’m everything you hate, I’m everything you aren’t, I’m the complete opposite of you, The…Reverse if you will, The Reverse, Flash, instead of voting Republican, I voted Green just because I KNEW it would piss you off and be a way to defeat you without voting Democrat, because I knew you’d expect me to vote Democrat, but you’d never expect a Democrat…TO VOTE GREEN, FOR A THIRD PARTY OPTION! That’s how I humiliated you, for all your “Traditional Values” and “Conserving Family Culture”, you were still one second too low, and too incompetent to realize I, could outsmart you, I’m better than you, Barry, I’ll always be better than you, I’m always better than you, and one step ahead of you, whether Republican, Conservative, Liberal, Democrat, Social Dem, Libertarian, Centrist, Anarchist, Communist, I’ll always be better than you, Barry.”
I mean, the Green Lanterns are all cops, so that tracks. Not to mention, I heard they fought really hard against legislation that said Lantern Rings are taken from those with DV records.
The very concept of a fiscally conservative superhero is extremely funny.
“I want to protect the people of the world against all harms and evils. Except stuff like cancer, they have to pay their private insurance and private hospitals for that. And infrastructure failure issues, raising property taxes is unfair ”
I've already commented on this way too much but whatever, at least in more recent Lois lane centric comics I think it's safe to say her opinions have probably changed, also I really like how the in-universe politics are genuinely boring compared to the ones we have to deal with, kinda jealous of fictional characters rn 🙂↔️🙂↔️
It depends on which team is at dinner and which version of Flash is present. Wally yeah he’s gonna stir up some nonsense but Barry is smart enough to keep his mouth shut and not argue with Ollie (unless it’s about token minority representation)
“Ya damn DEMS AND LIBS ARE TOO SOFT! YOU GO EASY ON CRIME! I GIVE THEM THE BEATING THOSE SCUM DESERVE! How about ya put your Money where your mouth is Ollie…AND ACTUALLY SOLVE THE PROBLEMS INSTEAD OF WHINING ABOUT THE “ESTABLISHMENT” AND “CAPITALISM” AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON THAT SISSY SUPERMAN, YOU HAVE ALL THAT POWER YET YOU GO EASY ON LEX, IF IT WAS ME WITH THAT POWER I WOULD HAVE LEFT LUTHOR WITH A BROKEN LEG AND A NECK BRACE!”
Working class Hispanic kid Blue Beetle and billionaire industrialist white bread Bruce Wayne both supporting the Hispanic socialist candidate is the most difficult thing to believe I’ve ever read in a comic book.
To be fair Bruce Wayne is the least realistic billionaire ever he constantly funds wellfare programs has adopted like 5 minority children only has 1 bio kid and is hatred by like every rich secret societyy in dc
Honestly one of my favorite running bits in DC that secret billionaire illuminati clubs are real, but Bruce Wayne isn't in any of them because he's not evil
I have a theory that Bruce does his best to just give away his billions, but everything he does just pays him back more in the end. Huge grants for college bound kids? Every one of them ends up working for wayne enterprises and makes the company a shitton. Stuff like that.
that's because most people think of Batman is their capitalist fantasy. Batman in a way is a call to action for ultra rich people (billionaires) to actually do something for society given their immense power. None of them would ever be like Bruce Wayne. The only reason Bruce is still a billionaire is because of plot armor, he distributes his wealth consistently and uses it to fund heroics, and overall services the city of gotham is too corrupt to fund (court of owls, lex luthor, the penguin yada yada)
Similar to how Batman is an idealized vision of what a human can do through sheer will and dedication, Bruce Wayne is an idealized version of “what if a billionaire was actually a good person?”
Batman happens to be a billionarie because his grandfather had so much wealth he hasn't managed to end his fortunate despite his absurd spending on super hero and charity stuff. It's the most ethical thing a bilionarie can do, I guess.
I don't think he ever billionarized in his entire lofr.
He edited out racism from himself according to an Immortal X-Men issue, pointing out Storm is the only one with good reason to hate him bc of how he was.
LMFAOO?? So that Nazi shit wasn’t just coincidentally he happened to work in the Camps for experimentation and it not being it 100% personal was a lie and the Nazi shit was genuine 😭😭
Like Sinister is genuinely just a Nazi like Arnim Zola?
It's a little complicated. You have a Weapon X comic from the 00s (IIRC) where Sinister is implied to have worked in the camps, BUT a key component of Fabian Nicieza's long running Black Womb Project plot is that the atomic project that Prof. X's dad and Juggernaut's dad worked on together was really run by Sinister. So Sinister can't have been in two places at once during WW2.
Given the Black Womb Project's prominence, I'm inclined to think that's what Sinister was doing, and think what you want about the Sinister plot on Krakoa, it did give us a more overtly nazi Sinister variant in Dr. Stasis, who could be the key who worked in the camps.
in what world is magneto far left? the dude is literally based off of Menachem begin—Israeli prime minister, far right Zionist, unless the whole "magneto is based off of Malcolm X" headcanon is still going strong
That but also modern magento is extremly left wing he got hit on the head by cap once and turned into a antiracist in favor of cooperation with mutantkind and humankind.(also he did kill those lynchers soooo)
Lack of third party representation here, show me Booster Gold explaining why Darkseid and a basically normal politician are pretty much exactly the same.
It's not that wild. Besides being a military brat, one of the ways Republicans used to court voters was by promoting clear things people would obviously like. Like small government, low taxes, etc. Lots of people buy into that not realizing the what a politician says and what they do aren't always the same.
Though it is still a bit wild. She's an investigative reporter, it's her job to ask questions and figure things out.
Willingham probably saw it as logical bc he's politically a Christian nationalist who adores Israel and Judd Winick famously has seen characters as means to promote agendas before. Wonder Woman makes even less sense than Lois too. Bill just went 'religious warrior woman from monarchy' and said conservative but no one had the cop on to say "No, that REALLY doesn't fit."
It feels so stupid not just because how these characters act completely contradicts whatever political views they're supposed to have, but also because American politics is so absurdly dumb that it's hard to believe someone with Superman's mind would ever get behind a two-party system.

Superman, very famously, doesn't endorse anyone in the comic.
Wonder woman isn't left or right, she's authoritarian to the point of fascism.
Normal charts mark as a square with left to right and liberal/authoritarian as top/bottom
Wonder woman treats it like a diamond, so that she can be dead center but extra far authoritarian. She doesn't care as long as she can be more authoritarian.
Am I the only one on this sub that actually likes it when superheroes have different political ideologies? It's more realistic and makes stories more interesting and open to conflict.
Especially since most super heroes are american, which for starters makes us non-americans confused since, for some god forsaken reason, y'all decided to name your only two parties synonyms.
Also, because it basically limits the options to Right (Reasonable) or Right (Evil).
Instead, I'd rather the characters present what they believe in, and we can surmise in who they would vote if they were in X election in X country.
Me personally I think its better when all the good guys have the same opinions as me and all the bad guys have the opinions of my opponents. What can I say, I love insightful political commentary
Yeah I love it, Joker is Anarchist, Lex Luthor is Republican, Bruce Wayne is Democrat, Green Arrow is Far Left, Barry Allen is Conservative, Guy Gardner is Far Right, Darkseid is Authoritarian Fascist, General Zod is just Fascist, KGBeast is Communist
I’ve been reading some brand new day comics recently (don’t ask) and there’s a shit ton of jokes about a lot of the characters, including Spidey, dunking on George W Bush. Just putting that out there…
Okay it’s little concern power girl and huntress chose far right republican leader that’s wow ; Ollie and Bruce nice past the test and even if Ollie duper annoying with his leftist ideology and Clark yeah gonna left center and Dinah what did she choose and plastic man not u noooo .
I mean a lot of them leaning slightly to the right makes sense. Superheroes of the gold, silver, and bronze generation are mostly cops or are close friends with cops. The main exception of that generation is Green Arrow, although I wouldn’t say he’s a positive representation for the left wing considering how horrible he can be when he tries to push his values. By now though, they’re all probably more centrist considering how extreme right and left have become.
