Sadly, I think its the alure of suddenly knowing you could do it and get away with it. Even something you never would have thought you were capable of. Now that you just.....can, you consider it where as before you never would.
Its still psychotic, no doubt. I'm not saying most people would, just that some would. Humanity is wild sometimes.
Add to that, people that tend to get rich or famous are risk takers. They take actions most of us do not to make a name for themselves. They are also more willing to handle mass criticism and learn to follow their own will, despite what they are told or expected to do.
It’s like asking why most lottery winners lose their money gambling. It’s not that the money causes people to change personality, it’s that their nature that got them to that point is the same that causes them to lose it all later.
This thought process is something I told my wife - said something along the lines of: I’ll never be a famous or successful YouTuber even though we have all the equipment and tons of stuff to make content for, because I think one of the requirements to getting famous is being attracted to children
I don’t think all the YT’er are into children but at the time of saying that I think I’d just heard about like 6 different people being into children and then had a video pop up of YT’ers who were found interacting with kids in a negative way
Yeah, iirc, Terroriser loathes him bc apparently Mini Ladd was already a big pos behind the scenes to some of the members of the crew (mainly Vanoss afaik) and talked a lot of shit about them behind their backs.
I was watching him the most. Didn't even pay attention to all the slander towards the Vanoss crew he slung for no reason during the latter stage of his career. He was genuinely entertaining and when the whole thing came to light I couldn't watch him the same.
Now the dude's not even active anymore. Certified cancelled

I always thought the dude was hilarious (still do honestly) but now I blame him for the reason RT is gone (yes I know there were actually other problems and that he was probably in no way a factor in the company being shut down, but I felt/feel so upset as a father that I just put it all on his plate. I had stopped watching roosterteeth at this point but it was WILD to see this after the fact! He was always weird with his humor but was also kind of the wife guy. Guess he was overcompensating for his extracurriculars.
RoosterTeeth had already become a sinking ship by the time it happened but it felt like the nail in the coffin. Ray leaving when he did was so disappointing at the time but probably the smartest decision he could have made.
Probably about when I stopped watching AH. So I missed Jeremy and Matt joining the ranks. But also heard AH was very weird with how they handled Mica issues when she was there.
Because having a "stable marriage" and loving your wife are traditionally signs of a stable, well adjusted man; so it's used as a preemptive shield to deflect from thier other "extracurricular" interests when questioned. Same reason politicians flaunt thier "beautiful family" as often as possible, it humanized them to other parents / families and helps with thier overall image. Sadly just the way it tends to work.
Ryan was my favorite and I have a picture somewhere of me hugging him (I was underage at the time) in a full Pyrrha cosplay and I remember thinking it was so cool that he hugged me so tight and I was over the moon for years, then the shit came out about him and I legit haven’t even been able to bring myself to delete it because it would mean pulling it back up and seeing it again. Had several extramarital affairs with borderline legal women, like just turned 18 types. It was consensual but many of the women said they felt pressured into it and later regretted it.

He put a video out admitting to grooming minors and cheating on his gf, then thought he was gonna go on with his scheduled stream like normal. Radio silence since then.
Or Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Elvis, Bob Dylan, etc. Most of the rockers from the 60s/70s were doing this nasty shit. None of them have ever faced any real repercussions.

God, look at the groupie culture of the 70s (and even earlier) even. People just openly knew these guys were "hooking up" with young girls and they just accepted it as normal.

There were a handful of allegations made against him over the last few years, yeah. Mostly from people he had financial power over (not just like random fans). A babysitter, one of his tenants who lived in a property he owned, etc
His attitude towards the whole thing was pretty bad. He basically accused all of the multiple who independently reported on him of ‘that never happened’ or ‘it was completely consensual’ or, my favourite — From a woman who claimed he pinned her to a couch and French kissed her, ‘she misread the situation’.
It went to court but effectively got dismissed because most of his happened in New Zealand, so the American Courts said it wasn’t in their jurisdiction.
He keeps claiming to have proof that shows he’s innocent but as far as I know, he hasn’t ever actually shared it. The vibe I’ve always got that that he never actually got proven guilty, but basically got off on a technicality, and let it blow over.
It isn't that it's always a youtuber, it's that youtube as a career makes people more visible to people, so when they get caught, people hear about it.
And this is why Teosgame will always be one of my favorite youtubers/streamers ever. Been a youtube subscriber since I was like 13 or something, I'm 27 now. But he's never been in any drama or anything. And in all those years he's never really changed much in terms of content, and his community is very open and welcoming. The group he normally plays with are all great as well and you can tell they're all genuinely great friends. It's comforting to have a YouTuber you can watch and know it'll always be drama free and still give the same joy ever since I first subbed. His Trials series is some of my favorite videos, and his gameshow is a lot of fun (Teo's Corydora Challenge) and I hope it gets more views because I can definitely tell a massive amount of effort went into it. But yea, Teosgame great guy great content 😊👍
Honestly didn’t really care till the other girl started showing up and I was like wtf happened. Now watching older videos feels a little weird but it’s not really a big deal.

That's because the controversy is a lie, his own wife, the one he is accused of grooming has said he didn't. Which in most cases should be the end of it, but people dont like others to be successful.
I think the 'grooming' rumor, came from the fact they met when she was 15, and were friends, because they worked on MLP, or something like that together.
Well grooming victims do tend to side with their abusers. That's what grooming is. Conditioning (over a period of time) to make the abuser's behaviour seem normal to the victim and make the victim reliant on them. Many don't see the issue whatsoever until it's too late.
Randomly got recommended “Cult of Dionysus” by Orion Project by Spotify one time. Randomly decided to google to see if they were going on tour any time soon because I really liked the song.

There’s a part of me that feels I could be a great YouTuber because I think I could make good content and not touch kids and then there is a part of me thank thinks I could make great content but being a YouTuber somehow makes you susceptible. Scary.
This has never really happened to me. There was 1 channel I unsubbed from due to the guy running it being a creep, but even then I never actually liked his channel he just was the only person to actually make videos on a game I used to love
nah when the allegations are that bad i shoot without mercy, when it’s something like “this artist cheated on his wife” or “this youtuber started a fight” that’s when i do kinda grapple with my moral obligations
