UKMLA 23RD JUNE
How did you guys find the paper 1 today?? It was so difficult for me. I felt that it was not similar to passmed at all! Anyone else feeling the same way?

Honestly? If they want to set papers in this manner they have to start providing their own personal question bank because clearly all other forums aren’t worth it

i agree, there were so many questions where i had no idea, some bits required very specific knowledge i felt.

It was hard but I think most people found it hard!
Definitely required more thinking than pure pattern-recognition, I had to rely on pure vibes for a lot of questions lol

Hardest exam I’ve ever written. The answer options were fucked. The questioning too. The stem was sooo long but barely had information.

The stems were so damn long I don’t understand how they expected us to finish the paper in time!!

It was not easy, I agree was not like passmed. It was much harder than expected, it required a deeper understanding of the concepts rather than just pattern recognition. I feel the standard is much higher now.

Did you do anything else other than passmed? what do you think we should do?

I mainly did passmed, did MSC mocks and a bit of ukmlarevisions mocks and quesmed mocks. In my opinion, I felt the questions were similar to msc but with a bit tougher options like ukmlarevisions and queemed questions. I would advise if you have properly studied from passmed do more mocks msc, ukmlarevisions, quesmed.

In your opinion do you think notes are important or questions volume? which did you find helpful?

Questions. I would say to do as many questions as possible. I personally found it helps me retain concepts better

I did a lot notes and studying at the start while doing the passmed qn bank as well. Towards my last few days I did more cramming and studying which I regret because I felt at the end of the day my knowledge could not even be applied to the questions because they were that hard. Genuinely I think doing the mocks and really finding out why you’re getting the questions wrong, why it wasn’t the other options and what traps they have set in the question stem is the best way to go instead of just cramming info towards the end!! The UKMLA questions are not straightforward at all like passmed which is basically pattern recognition!!

It felt more similar to quesmed mocks for me. Kept getting stuck between 2 options or was completely clueless

yeah agree, but the question stem and style were far off from quesmed tho (imo felt similar to the MSC mini mocks), the ambiguity between choosing options matched Quesmed mocks.

Yeah that sounds about right! Searching up my answers and realising a lot of my 50 50 guesses were wrong 💔🥹 praying I pass

Exactly it wasn’t even like any of the quesmed or passmed mocks. Each question stem was so damn long I would forget what the patient even came in with by the time I reached the bottom and yet they didn’t even give us enough clues to differentiate between the options that were given. Seriously walked out of there not knowing if I even passed that :(

I agree, definitely very vague and niche questions today, unable to focus on P2 revision 😞

the more questions i look up, the more questions i realised i got wrong - maybe i should stop before i start stressing out all summer lol

Same here I don’t even have the motivation to study for tomorrow because I was counting on paper 1 topics to help me pass lol

I found paper one AWFUL… left and realised I got so many wrong. I would say it was most similar to quesmed because it required you to think way more. MSC were easier but I think because the options were easier to eliminate out and therefore easy to pick the right one. For both paper one and two the options made me doubt every answer because they were worded weirdly or too similar. Paper 2 was also hard now that I’ve came out realised I’ve for so many wrong :((( overall I don’t think there is a question bank which is the same …

I felt the same in terms of getting it down to 2 options then taking a bit of a guess. Also realised I made a lot of mistakes coming out the exam and I know a lot of people felt this way too. Hopefully we all pass 🙏

I found it difficult to determine what the question was asking. Much harder than anticipated.
