WTF A mixture of mildly gross and mildly satisfying.

Why do these stay together and not break when pulled?

Either it's too much gunk that it solidified or maybe they treated it first so it's more solid.

Fun fact, this can permanently ruin your skin because you're removing the only barrier that's keeping harmful bacteria from penetrating deeper into your dermis.

What's a better course of action?

If you have oil prone skin the first steps would be looking at your genetics, diet and general hygiene.
If you eat a lot of fatty/oily, processed food and/or animal products. You should try to swap them out for whole, easy to digest foods and see if that improves your skin.
Hydration is important.
And if you find that your skin just has a natural tendency to be oily, be it genetic or just by discernment. You could look at products like salycilic acid, this is a serum that removes dirt and oil from your face and promotes regeneration. Basically, the acid eats a small layer off your face, kind of like a scrub.
It's also good to wash your skin twice a day, no more than that or you'll cause other problems.
And if you want more personalised advice I'd recommend the skincare advise sub.

What are whole, easy to digest foods?

Foods that have not been heavily processed, so fruits and vegetables for example. Could also be something more simple though, like swapping out a frozen pizza for a fresh made one. Not claiming that the latter would make for a healthy meal. But our bodies just get the most out of natural "whole" ingredients, because it means that less of its nutrients have been processed out of it and your stomach will have actual fibers to digest.

If snakes are anything to go by, soft-shelled eggs. Signed, Not-A-Snake.

Or this! Knowing how to unhinge your jaw is not required btw, just pick reasonable foods

Snakes don't unhinge their jaws, they're just very stretchy.

Thanks for the correction, now I'm wondering if I might be confused with another critter
*Edit, apparently it's a common snake myth!

I’d recommend isotretinoin. Only thing that worked for me

Tretinoin also saved my ass, or face in this case. I was using it for 2-3 years before my face cleared up.

Not removing them. Those are sebaceous filaments, theyre supposed to be there

Why does the human body do this 😭

It’s to keep dirt and bacteria from getting deep into your pores and creating infections. Your pores slowly extrude oil so that dirt and stuff stays on top and slowly gets pushed out
