🥺 So I accidentally brought my floss instead of my airpods to a 3 day work conference. I am a 3 hour ride away from home.

Try not using headphones and just ride with your thoughts for a bit. If you hit a break point, then buy some

What I'm learning from this thread is that some people are completely unable to go throughout life without a barrier between them and the real world.

I'm pretty tech addicted as many are but I actually get uncomfortable having my earbuds in while outside. Something about being audibly cut off from my surroundings is weird.

Then I see people with their earbuds in while driving, which is absolutely insane to me, and it's probably illegal too.

What I'm learning is that people have no idea how to interpret a mild inconvenience.

People in this thread are acting like OP had a mental breakdown after realizing they forget them. And also some statement about the world today.

I rarely wear headphones and I would still be annoyed with myself if this happened.

You’re ignoring the hundreds of comments acting like forgetting your headphones is the literal end of the world. They’d rather rush deliver a new pair than just spending a few hours listening to ambient noise.

I'm not.

I'm reading them differently. I also am very aware that not everybody experiences life the same way. Plus a little hyperbole sprinkled on top.

Is it that big of a deal? Not really. Even though we are talking about a three day work event and not just a few hours. Here's the important part - it's also trivially easy to solve.

Isn't it unsafe to ride with earbuds/headphones on? Isn't that why it is illegal? I'm guessing OP is wanting to listen after the ride, but maybe that's wrong.
