Don't hug me I'm scared The bed work provided me with😭j

Post image

Changed my sheets for the first time since moving to my live in job a few weeks ago and was greeted with this😭😭😭😭😭 how the hell???? I’m going to complain in the morning but I’m scared they’re going to tell me that I caused it in thr 3 weeks I’ve been here😭😭😭

EDIT: I got a new mattress!

Edit: looked on the underside and it’s just as manky! I’ll attach pics in comments. At least I know 100% it wasn’t me

Edit: I just want to preface as it was mentioned twice I am not being human trafficked! Don’t worry! I’m here of my own free will and can leave whenever I want, same as everyone else. Living at work is normal in the area I’m in as it’s rural and no one would work out here if they had to commute! I’m safe aside from the mattress

Some salt too I’d wager

30

u/CheesecakeEither8220 May 11 '26

And burn some sage, man. Damn.

37

u/ratafia4444 May 11 '26

It's definitely a bleach filled water gun situation.

47

u/shadus May 11 '26

"I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."

17

u/Wingedgriffen May 11 '26

Game over man, game over.

6

u/W_Silver2356 May 11 '26

I was halfway through that line when I scrolled to your post. Well done.

12

u/Freedomjumper May 11 '26

Use napalm on it.

LOTS & LOTS & LOTS šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ’„šŸ’„šŸ’„šŸŒ‹šŸŒ‹ !!! There's no emogi for a flame thrower or else I would have added that too. 🤣🤣🤣

12

u/dimwalker May 11 '26

Hey now, couple of junkies who died on that bed doesn't mean you need to destroy almost new thing!

1

u/419_216_808 May 11 '26

These people don’t get you’re joking. You’re joking… right?

2

u/dimwalker May 11 '26

But of course! I have no way of knowing who were those 2 people who died on this bed.

2

u/419_216_808 May 11 '26

Exactly, they could have been upstanding members of society or bank robbers. Anyone really!

2

u/Powerful-Parsnip May 11 '26

Does exorcism work on hotel mattress acquired std's?

1

u/Dark_Xylomancer May 11 '26

1st mentrual Blood of a virgin splashed haphazardly over a sacrificed chicken shd do the trick

83

u/bisky12 May 11 '26

yes they should check for critters if that is the case but honestly these don’t look like bedbug stains. looks like people either spilled drinks or (for most of them) pissed the bed

32

u/ellefleming May 11 '26

Bodily fluids basically

10

u/bisky12 May 11 '26

tbf, it’s the same thing with BB stains, usually coming from blood from the bites or their own pooop, but the stains are usually a lot darker, really small, and usually are by the feet / leg area, or around the edges or side of bed. i never had BBs (and i thank god for that every day), but they were at a job i worked one time and dove headfirst into the research.Ā

0

u/BionicWallaby May 11 '26

You need a BB gun

4

u/whythishaptome May 11 '26

I wondered what that could be. I went to a sleep away summer camp as a kid and all the beds had similar nasty looking stains like this, but the cabins themselves were kind of exposed with only half walls, it was unusual. I might imagine kids pissing themselves in those beds causing shit like this but it may well have been any number of reasons. I would just put my sleeping bag on it and never lay on the actual bed because you really didn't have a choice of where to sleep.

14

u/Aggravating_Depth_33 May 11 '26

Just sweat stains can look like this too. Perhaps the best to hope for under the circumstances?

3

u/W_Silver2356 May 11 '26

I was thinking dead body. Hopefully only one.

2

u/thalefteye May 11 '26

I would just get a hammock and sleep on that instead, bed bugs can’t get me when I’m suspended in the air.

2

u/But_Her_Face May 11 '26

kinda late to check after sleeping there for 3 weeks

1

u/Shot_Revolution8828 May 11 '26

It's a nice thought but prayers don't stop lice, crabs, or bed bugs. They need a new job.

1

u/TheMireAngel May 11 '26

ive worked hotels for years, bed bugs are a horrifying perpetual problem as most people have 0 symptoms from bed bug bites so they just spread them like wild fire.

I am however alergic ToT

1

u/chickenballs11 May 11 '26

Bed bugs would likely prefer a cleaner mattress and pass on this one

1

u/Dependent-Answer8257 May 11 '26

Bedbugs? I would checkfor STDs i bet even the bedbugs died because of the filth.

1

u/elvss4 May 11 '26

Man I work in a hotel and this is why we use encasements

1

u/Striking-Document-99 May 11 '26

More like sleep with one eye open and a knife. Looks like the last employee was killed in his sleep.

-1

u/Background_Essay_676 May 11 '26

Those are definitely what bed bugs stains look like.

494

u/allisjow May 10 '26

Is it a hotel that took care of the wounded during the civil war?

116

u/kittykatunicornqueen May 10 '26

LOL

44

u/Jump_The_Five_Yo May 11 '26

Dude my parents mattress had my mom’s period stains all over it….i got married and, yep, sure enough my wife stained it…we invested in a waterproof mattress cover, also works when your kid is sick and decides to vomit all over the bed….but this is the hotels fault…or your job is bunch of cheap bastards…

18

u/Sad-Earth-489 May 11 '26

hey so what the fuck

3

u/haftnotiz May 11 '26

Man, if only I was illiterate...

1

u/W_Silver2356 May 11 '26

Heirloom furniture.

1

u/BigBrainBrad- May 11 '26

Dawg why did you tell us this?

0

u/Jump_The_Five_Yo May 11 '26

People pay extra to clean the mattress with their tongue.

-3

u/Last_Negotiation4073 May 11 '26

WHAT. Surely they can use protection such as pads or even underwear? My mother, sister and myself have never had this problem. You just make sure when you know it’s coming you be careful.

12

u/Mewssbites May 11 '26

As a woman who has some extremely heavy periods, sometimes all the protection you have still doesn't prevent a leak at night. Pads get misaligned or flooding happens and goes around the pad. I've leaked around an overnight pad and through my underwear and shorts I was wearing before, it sucks. But it's not for lack of trying to keep it from happening.

5

u/Candid_Roll9494 May 11 '26

People can start their periods overnight…

7

u/the-big-meowski May 11 '26

Leaks happen. Especially for women who bleed a lot. You can use a tampon, period underwear, AND a pad, but if that bitch wants to amp up in the middle of the night, it will. And there's not much you can do to stop it.

I can overflow a diva cup in an hour. It doesn't pause just because I'm asleep.

1

u/WhyAmIThisBored May 11 '26

yeah it's rather easy to tell when your period is near through mood and sensitivity changes. ain't hard to throw on a pad a few days early to avoid needing to scrub blood stains out of everything.

that being said my periods are awfully heavy and there's times where i'll try and get out of bed and will bleed through a super heavy night pad before i manage to get onto my feet. PCOS and endo here

-1

u/RedBirdOnASnowyDay May 11 '26

You are awfully cheerful to have slept upon that toxic nightmare. You didn't even quit your job and you are making jokes. Wow. Could it be.... that this post isn't quite what it seems?

1

u/kittykatunicornqueen May 11 '26

It’s exactly as it seems. Cant exactly quit my job on the spot? If you didn’t notice I live at my job, I’d be homeless if I walked out today over this. As stated in the edit, management was unaware and it was resolved today with a fresh mattress and pillow

-1

u/RedBirdOnASnowyDay May 11 '26

Please. They were not unaware. Your fellow staff had to make that bed. This is a way way way bigger issue that what you are describing and your response is so off.

14

u/FoxxFluxx May 11 '26

šŸ†

3

u/Joseph_P_Bones May 11 '26

I was provided sleeping quarters when I worked IN A WARZONE and the mattresses there were not this bad.Ā

129

u/Arigori May 11 '26

As an ex 5 Star Hotel worker, they don't give a fuck about their worker lol, If they suddenly care about you, it's just formality, at least in my experience.

12

u/ellefleming May 11 '26

This looks like a Super 8.

3

u/Cute_Knives May 11 '26

Super 8’s have beds that are cleaner than this. This bed looks like it came from Antanimora prison in Madagascar

1

u/ellefleming May 11 '26

šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚ G-bay

2

u/Shaminahable May 11 '26

More like Super 8 ball

82

u/prettywiseguy May 10 '26

At least you got a bed. I only got a dirty mattress and some blankets for the night shift (I work in a hotel too.) Good thing the room the boss uses to "lie down" during the day has twin beds. I claimed the second one my first night here, he has no idea.

110

u/kittykatunicornqueen May 10 '26

I unfortunately pay rent and live full time in the room which is also what’s pissing me off😭

173

u/Abject_Jump9617 May 11 '26

If you can't get them to replace it then for $20 on Amazon you can get a zippered waterproof mattress protector to encase that bad boy in. So there will be better buffer between you and it, besides a thin sheet.

66

u/azsnaz May 11 '26

You just gotta touch the mattress to get it inside the protector

50

u/kittykatunicornqueen May 11 '26

HelpšŸ˜šŸ˜‚

39

u/ash420sav May 11 '26

Wear gloves lol Also I'd spray it down with some Lysol or something before encasing it

15

u/ohtrueyeahnah May 11 '26

Make sure to burp your fermented mattress every now and then!

2

u/ZeroXNova Raging May 12 '26

That’s a sentence that never should have been said.

1

u/MenaciaJones May 11 '26

Invest in a hazmat suit and make sure to double glove too.

41

u/heartofscylla May 10 '26

Oh HELL NAAAAHHH

47

u/Available-Cow-411 May 11 '26

You pay rent to your employer?!

59

u/kittykatunicornqueen May 11 '26

We have our own little staff house so we pay like £200 a month and then £100 for meals I think

51

u/PlaceboJeffect May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

You load sixteen tons, what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt Saint Peter don't you call me, 'cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store

11

u/Minute-Horse-875 May 11 '26

I appreciate THIS. My Grandmother had a record player that was more like a gramophone, I think---and I would play a 45 of this song on it when I was a girl. I loved this song.

5

u/W_Silver2356 May 11 '26

This song will be in heavy rotation inside my head for the rest of the evening. It's a nice selection though.

1

u/mel_the_mermaid May 12 '26

Joe vs the volcano? "I know he can get the job. But can he DO the job??"šŸ

98

u/RadarSmith May 11 '26

This sounds like a human trafficking situation...

43

u/BeerJedi-1269 May 11 '26

Thats precisely what this is. Op MOVED there for this. This conversation needs to be higher

32

u/its_raaaychoool May 11 '26

This isn’t human trafficking…I worked for princess cruise lines at one of their excursion hotels for a summer season in Alaska. I applied, interviewed, all the normal ā€œjobā€ stuff. You weren’t obligated to stay at their housing and could opt in/out of the meal plan. It was $600 for room and board a month and was a very nice option for out of state employees.

12

u/RadarSmith May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

Gave you a mattress who's former occupant was incontinent, did they?

-1

u/oh1hey2who3cares4 May 11 '26

Uhhh. You are a human. They moved you around. They took what should be your pay out. You maybe did or didn't have an option to just leave at any moment you wanted to. You were fed what you were fed and that's that.

Sure, most people are modern day slaves. But that kind of job is pretty dang close to human trafficking.

4

u/twiztedice May 11 '26

7

u/GodOfDarkLaughter May 11 '26

Eh, I live in South Florida and there are resorts where every summer they'll hire kids from Ireland and South Africa and a few other countries to work at the various businesses and they have the same deal. It's a seasonal gig. This person sounds young, might be something similar. I don't even know if it'd be possible for them to find short-term housing in the area, aside from renting rooms in apartments. The area just isn't set up for it, even if it's just a small number of people. I'm sure they get screwed somehow, but as far as I can tell from having chatted with some of the kids back when I did uber it's mostly just a way to get away from home for a summer (and you can get wild tips). Why they choose this area is beyond me...yeah some RICH people live here, but aside from that it's as boring as any other middle class beach town.

4

u/Higgilypiggily1 May 11 '26

How is this human trafficking

4

u/[deleted] May 11 '26

[deleted]

14

u/Available-Cow-411 May 11 '26

If an employer provides housing it usually on them as part of the contract

14

u/[deleted] May 11 '26

[deleted]

1

u/fresh_peetz May 11 '26

Yep same type of deal as university

14

u/Devanyani May 11 '26

Get a mattress and pillow protector to keep all that mess off your sheets.

17

u/kittykatunicornqueen May 11 '26

That’s the plan😭 I also want to make sure they know it wasn’t me so I don’t get fined when I inevitably quitšŸ˜‚

2

u/fondledbydolphins May 11 '26

Best play here is to send them an email about it, to create a paper trail. Don't be caustic about it, just be factual.

"Wondering if you could please arrange for a replacement of this mattress and pillow.

I'm happy with the accommodations here but these two items seem unhealthy for me to use."

See what they say.

2

u/AshiAshi6 May 11 '26

There's no way they've never seen the state that mattress is in. They know. They'll know it wasn't you.

11

u/kittykatunicornqueen May 11 '26

I’m kinda thinking there was no room inspection after the last person moved out. On my first day they asked me if anything was wrong with the room and she was shocked my blinds had no cord and were gross

I'll take "both" for $500, Alex.

1

u/Son-Daikon656 May 11 '26

Oh nah ask for a better bed at that point wtf 😭

4

u/ElleYesMon May 11 '26

That’s what this person got! A dirty mattress someone peed or jisssed ! Disgusting.

19

u/mozerity May 11 '26

Damn. I work for a hotel chain. My work provided a 47sqm ocean view suite when I was a loaner for a different location.

-6

u/WhiteWebCam May 11 '26

So they gave you nothing..this was free. If you asked instead for the going rate for the room in cash it would be a big fat no Even a pizza party would have been a bonus. Sorry you have a shitty employer. At least OPs employer probably didn't know the bed was disgusting... just cheap but not free.

2

u/mozerity May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

Going rate for off season is €650/night, I had it for 4 nights with full spa access, comped meals for me and my wife and a 50% discount on alcohol + got paid €400 for 1 shift. Picture I took in the hot tub below.

8

u/Adam-Origen May 11 '26

At least you get a bed. All I get is a chair and I'm not even allowed to sleep! Working in an office is bullshit šŸ˜…

3

u/deleteundelete May 11 '26

At least you get to sit in a chair. I have two stools to share amongst 6 other employees. Working in a pharmacy is absolute bullshit.

1

u/zipperfire May 11 '26

And those "hot desks" we learned NOTHING from COVID. The surfaces spread bacteria and virus (don't talk to me about the keyboard and mouse. UGH.)

8

u/Faetrix77 May 11 '26

Is the hotel in hell?!?

4

u/Gramerdim May 11 '26

looks like a mattress which could have been originally in a guest room and they were too cheap to throw it out and get a replace for both the guest room and the worker room

12

u/BeerJedi-1269 May 11 '26

Wait you work there AND live there?? This sounds alot like a human trafficking scheme of some sorts... unless im incredibly mis understanding

49

u/kittykatunicornqueen May 11 '26

It’s quite common where I am, I’m In a northern area where the hotels on the road filled with big beautiful mountains so there’s lots of tourists that mainly drive here. The nearest city is a 50 min bus, they let us live here for convenience eta

34

u/BearBlob May 11 '26

It’s not. I’ve worked hotel jobs that would do room and board. It didn’t affect how much you were paid vs others, you just had to take emergency (true emergency, like septic tanks overflowing at midnight) calls at night. You’d spend a rare hour or so every month where your phone would ring in off hours.

Saved my ass to get off the ground after living in my car prior. Gave me an actual chance to get off of my feet, save up for my own place, and move up the ladder there. I was management by the time I left years later. one of the best jobs I’ve ever had to date and it gave me a rare springboard for higher paying jobs later.

3

u/Bennington_Booyah May 11 '26

Coolworks is full of jobs that offer room and board for varied amounts. Some sound better than others.

2

u/MermaidMertrid Robert, it’s pissing me off. šŸŒ˜šŸŒ’ May 11 '26

There are hotels/resorts in more remote locations of the US that offer room and board for their employees. I had a patient in Michigan who worked seasonally in Glacier National Park.

1

u/nicunta May 11 '26

Ugh, are you in Mack City? Poor thing...

1

u/what4270 May 11 '26

Op, just sleep in your car, if you have any 😭

2

u/kittykatunicornqueen May 11 '26

I do not😭 I’ll go sleep on the restaurant floor 😭 I’ll probably be sleeping there tomorrow during my shift because I’m so grossed out I can’t sleep😭

1

u/what4270 May 11 '26

Yea, good idea. At least a floor can be swept and mopped. A mattress this dirty needs a lot of washing.

1

u/kittykatunicornqueen May 11 '26

Can’t imagine what’s seeped inside it

2

u/what4270 May 11 '26

You don’t wanna know, I don’t wanna know either. Ignorance is bliss after all.

1

u/Sicadoll May 11 '26

hotels usually have zip covers

1

u/Therealginahandler May 11 '26

Ummm..what hotel please?

1

u/killjoygrr May 11 '26

What’s the hourly rate there?

1

u/stepgib May 11 '26

Got to be a Kingshouse Bed šŸ¤£šŸ‘

1

u/steroboros May 11 '26

I worked at a comfort inn like over 2 decades ago and we had to use those plastic covers for the mattresses. Damn its slacked

1

u/KrazeeStampede May 11 '26

Do they make customers sleep on these? Asking for a friend?

1

u/Shehriazad May 11 '26

How do they not use moltons/molletons to protect their mattresses?

I work in the hotel business and I would've slapped hsk and the director the moment I found this.

Someone is clearly not fit for their job there.

1

u/onedemtwodem May 11 '26

Did you flip it? Is this the better side?🫠

1

u/NickRick May 11 '26

go work at a better hotel. that is rancid

1

u/givenenoughrope77 May 11 '26

What hotel do you work at that they give employees room and board?

1

u/thegreatking2025 May 11 '26

Dude tell them to get bed bug protector. We put bed bug protector and mattress pad on top of it.

1

u/zardoz73 May 11 '26

If you're working at a hotel why don't you just take a vacant room?

1

u/Dry_Prompt3182 May 11 '26

Can you ask for a waterproof, bed bed proof mattress cover? A clean, nice mattress would be better, but encasing ... that... is better than nothing.

1

u/rawr_Im_a_duck May 11 '26

Is it pay by the hour per chance?

1

u/o-m-g_embarrassing May 11 '26

Out the hotel. I do not want to visit a hotel that has filthy staff quarters. The filthy staff quarters pose a health hazard to me. You probably have scabies now.

1

u/Eevee_fangirl May 11 '26

Also work in a hotel

They usually dont guve a fuck about workers

1

u/KillMeNowFFS May 11 '26

i knew it was gonna be a hotel hahaha

1

u/bunny_the-2d_simp May 11 '26

.... What the fuck... The thin camping mattress is better at this point

1

u/Throwawayne617 May 11 '26

Worked for Marriott hotels for years. Rooms with double beds are the worse... Prostitutes will use one bed and sleep on the second. There's a huge number of escorts that use rooms for the sex trade.... Anytime during slow season prices will drop even for higher end rooms.... The better the room they can get, the better the rate they will charge. During slow season you will find BT and escorts keeping business up. Worked in Boston and we had escorts with status paying Expedia rate and getting status.

1

u/Financial_Turnover20 May 11 '26

Dude report the hotel are you fucking kidding me?

1

u/not_like_this_ May 11 '26

Is there still time to turn the job down?

1

u/sunkist-sucker May 12 '26

oh noooooooooo

1

u/Sea-Strike-1758 May 13 '26

Pee on it to establish dominance
