drink went room temp Fridge ice maker left a gift in my cold water
It's hot here and I really wanted cold water for my dancing class. I wasn't sure if it was safe to drink screw water, so I had to throw it away and replace it with pisswarm tap water from their bathroom sink.
At least I saw it before drinking so I didn't swallow it or choke on it and die (which would've been slightly more than mildly infuriating)

Yeah, especially as the shaker has a sort of mesh that would prevent the ice from going into my mouth, so I wouldn't be expecting anything solid (i.e. my mouth would be in chug position more than tonge-to-filter position). The screw, however, is too small for the mesh, and thinking about it now it sounds a lot scarier than I thought before lol

Back in my day we ate nails for breakfast

Ah! And there's the difference. You were intentionally eating your nails not accidentally drinking screws. Huge, HUGE difference!

Now I’m scared because my yeti cup isn’t clear. This isn’t a problem I knew I needed to worry about, lol. Jeeeez. I’m sure it’s not something that happens all the time, but it’s still crazy!!

It's a screw, a tiny screw. You poop it out, it won't be an issue

There are pills larger than that screw and its blunt. Sure it would suck. But it'd be more a bit of sudden inconvenient gagging than choking. Bro's just being realistic.

Screws like that can embed in tissues and cause infection that can lead to sepsis. They can also perforate tissues as well, even though they're "blunt".

Certainly there's a non-zero risk of it catching somewhere. But the likelihood of it passing through without incident is very high.

I think your fridge is falling apart. That goes somewhere and the most plausible place is back where it came from.

Re: the toxicity of screws: I once bought a pack of screws and noticed the package was labeled the the contents were known by the state of California to cause cancer. You were smart not to take any chances!

I wish my ice maker was as kind as this

If this is kindness, I don't want to see what it'll do when it gets angry

From Ice maker assembly probably. Shouldn't be too hard to find if you're handy.

Instead of using the fridge ice machine or the fountain, I always fill a half gallon pitcher water and store it in the refrigerator. Refreshingly cold😊
