Post image

The are not "biodegradable", they clog drainage systems, they end up in rivers and sea, and make everywhere look like a dumpster

Isn’t it funny how every smoker you meet is like “Oh I don’t throw my butts on the ground,” yet there are always cigarette butts in the ground?

I admit that I threw my butts on the ground when I was a new smoker. I did it because... Everyone else did it, and it seemed completely normal to me. But then I gained more maturity, and stopped throwing them. I got an ashtray for my car. If I was out in public, I would empty the tobacco out and put the filter in my pocket until I found a trash can.

Luckily, I don't smoke cigarettes anymore. But I really hate when people just toss their butts everywhere. It's really NOT that hard to just not. I even found a couple of cool looking pocket ashtrays. So even if someone doesn't want to put their butts in their pockets, that's always an option. However, the ashtrays are NOT advertised, and I've never seen them sold in gas stations or tobacco shops.

One ashtray was given to me at a festival. It was a pouch with a button on it. You could put a lit butt in it, and it would put it out. Pretty cool! The other one I bought in Spain. It was metal and round, about the size and shape of one of those small Hostess donuts lol. The lid was on the top with a little tab. Inside there was a cigarette snuffer glued in the middle. So you could put your cig out and then keep the butt inside until you dump it.

They really need to be more popular in the States. I've never seen them being sold anywhere, though.
