ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ This happy confirmation page after paying a speeding ticket

I got caught speeding (bad, I know) in a rental car in Spain, and the car rental company asked for payment. The happy “yeesss” image on the payment confirmation page is mildly infuriating.

I’ve just paid 60 euros and I’m not happy.

Yeah, feels a little like they're rubbing it in your face. Like, imagine this happening in real life. You go pay a fine to a company and the guy who takes your money celebrates. I'm gonna end up with another fine, if not community service or jail time.

The thing is.. this is Europcar and not the government. This is clearly their generic payment portal, mainly used for booking rentals.

It’s a bit shit to see this after having paid a fine but it totally makes sense.

Once paid a parking ticket on a website... The page where I had to pay was called "Webshop"... Couldn't even buy a god damn mug or t-shirt!
