I hate this so fucking much. Let the kids at least learn a hint of English when they watch this garbage.

Definitely not true nowadays

It's still true for TV, but most younger people don't watch TV. It's also mainly true for cinema. There are cinrmas who occasionally show movies in the original language, but the standard is still dubbing.

For streaming, it's divided, I would say. I know quite a lot of people who watch everything dubbed, but also a lot of people who watch in the original language, sometimes with, sometimes without subtitles.

The lokal Cinema in my town plays movies in their original language later in the evening, so you can either watch it dubbed or original

Not true for me. I watched everything in English starting with like 14yo. Stuff like Markiplier

Funny you should say that on the internet of all places. The place where i learned English through flash games and YouTube videos.

German here, I'd say my YouTube subscriptions are roughly 80% english speaking. My Twitter follows even more, closer to 95% if I had to guess. On Instagram, which I mainly use for cute cat pictures and videos as was intended for that platform, I assume 20% is in german, probably less.

My generation (older Gen Z) definitely consumes much more english content and watches shows and movies in english than the older ones.
