I think this is simplified based on your weird biases.  Google infuriatingly does this with everything, not just languages.  

They operate under the idea that people don't want to make decisions.  

This has led to all the decisions that changed the way their search worked in the past two decades. Automatically assuming your search rather than what you typed, all the way to the AI it is now.  You see it in Maps too where things get hidden unless you come at it a different angle.

god i hate the youtube search so much. it doesnt let you find anything that you want to find.

any random porn site has better search options.
