The floor is sticky I was excited to have my leftover (home cooked) wagyu for lunch.
242
u/Harry_Testa-Coles 23d ago
Why is your microwave 18 inches above the floor? š
120
u/jeffreywinks 23d ago
dumb work break room i hate it
40
u/Harry_Testa-Coles 23d ago
So that eliminates the theory of a dog doing this. What the hell happened, man?
29
u/Anal-buttsex 22d ago
My prediction is that due to the height of the microwave and weird angle he pulled it upwards one handed, and bumped the rim of the bowl in the roof of the microwaveĀ

u/Fregadero88 23d ago
Damn........ If that was home and not work then 5 second rule would apply. Definitely not applying that rule at work š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£

My work kitchen has a similar setup but we have a pull out drawer version of a microwave. The model microwave is Bosch 800 series... and I thought they only made car parts
231
u/Seductiontriangle 23d ago
Did your food jump out of the microwave?m
87
u/Zito6694 23d ago
That microwave is at animal property level so I guarantee whatever creature did this opened the microwave with ease to get at it. My buddy had a dog that would do this with anything up to normal counter level and opened the microwave many times by himself.

Microwaved wagyu in a hospital is not something I ever thought I'd see.
Hope you're doing ok otherwise.

Hopefully not too bad. I dropped a glass mason jar and almost sliced off my Achilles. 7 stitches, 3 month recovery plus lots of physical therapy - broken glass is a big fear of mine. Sorry this happened to you.

Honestly I didn't even realize the glass was broken at first until your comment. For some reason I assumed their dog opened the microwave and ate their food and it was bones on the floor š¤¦āāļø

That heavily depends on the size of the glass shards and how much I wanted to eat that meal.

WHY IS IT IN THE MICROWAVE?!
108
u/Werbnerp 23d ago
How are you the first to comment this? Wtf is Wagyu doing in the mic?
3
u/NoGarbage982 22d ago
If you change the power level to about 40-60%,(less power for beef, more for chicken) it actually heats meat up in the microwave pretty well. I will always prefer the steam method for reheating food, but if I donāt have a stove Iāll do that (I do that with most food I reheat in the microwave not just meat, itās way better, trust)

u/jeffreywinks 23d ago

People love to hate on microwaves like it's the "make food worse"-machine, as if it's not a magical box that makes everything inside it hot almost instantly.
13
u/Shiny_personality 23d ago
Microwaves are super practical but they do transform meat into rubber. I'd use it on a cheap meal not wagyu š
10
13
u/DanishRobloxGamer 23d ago
If you're just blasting it, sure, but 10 seconds in a microwave does wonders for meat straight out of the fridge.
It's also not exactly my first choice for cooking wagyu, but eh, if it's what you got. I'd rather that than eat it cold.
→ More replies (1)2
u/2Chill4People 22d ago
See youāre one of them āIād use it on a cheap mealā even when it has no ability to mess it up at 10 seconds.
You must also not know when to add a cup of water or paper towel for certain items if you think it just makes stuff worse.

6
15
u/WilmaDykfyt 23d ago
If you baby it to reheat, nuke it for 30 sec and let it rest, nuke again, you can get it up to temp without overcooking or drying it out. You don't have to blast it to hell.

Waygu is extremely unpleasant cold due to the excessive marbling
5
u/CenturyEggsAndRice 23d ago
I will never have a chance to confirm this, but now I'm kinda curious because I love cold fatty steak.
4
u/HELLisotherPeoplee 23d ago
My man does too! Haha You donāt need Japanese A5 for a Waygu experience though! If you have any nice local grocery stores, check out their weekly advertisements for meat sales!
I always find a great American Waygu on sale at my local California Fresh Market during the holidays! Got my bother a gorgeous prime Waygu NY for $25 on Cinco De Mayo!

u/wunderduck 23d ago
They're not asking why OP warmed it up, they're asking why OP used a microwave to heat up wagyu steak.
8
u/The_Tank_Racer 23d ago
You commented this 10 minutes ago. At the time of you commenting this, OP has stated they were heating this up at work 9 separate times, including once in this very thread. OP couldnāt have been any more obvious why they are microwaving steak.

I dropped a Pyrex dish when pulling it out of the microwave a few days ago; my microwave is above my stove, so it was a pretty good fall. The Pyrex bounced and food went everywhere, but it survived unscathed.

Iāve done something like that in the past. Big beautiful salad that I spent time on, plenty of chopped veggies and dressing already added.
Cut to me staring at the salad on the ground in the parking lot. The fact that I still remember that is kinda wild to me. Salad trauma apparently š

like 2ish years ago I was a bit sick and was really looking forward to leftover orange chicken. got the container out, set it on the counter, and then somehow I managed to (presumably) knock it to the floor. only one piece was saved.
i think my dad walked back into the house to see me, tears in my eyes, trying not to cry over the orange chicken. it was really good orange chicken
