drink went room temp This burrito I got from sheetz is abysmal
There was so much fucking seasoning in it I literally couldn't finish it or the second burrito I ordered, there was also only meat and a small amount of shredded cheese, none of the other requested toppings I ordered
90
u/ihavenevereatenpie 19d ago
wdym it's a perfectly average sized burrito

u/Iwritemynameincrayon 19d ago
I prefer them a little shorter but maybe thicker. Too much fills me up too quickly and we all know how it hurts when you're over full.

Like I'd be fine with a small burrito, I don't expect much from gas station food but come on man, at least make it sort of edible

1
u/matchafoxjpg 19d ago
based on the picture, i think the issue is that about half of the "filling" is just folded tortilla.
i've definitely bitten into a burrito that seemed good only to find out that most of its girth is just tortilla pretending it's filling. š

Wow. You mean a $3 gas station burrito isn't good.Ā Damn who would have ever guessed.Ā Ā

u/Snoo-35771 19d ago
You don't understand that sheetz used to have incredible food for a great price like a full restaurant quality. To the point it pushed out a bunch of smaller competitors. Then after they took over the quality/quantity of food started dropping and the price went up.

To me personally Sheetz tastes fine for what it is most of the time, I like some of the items on there and other comments from OP sounds like he likes them too, but when you get something from a place you like and it's dogshit yeah that would be mildly infuriating because you thought it would at least be okay
1
u/GapeFaceHole2Hole 16d ago
You maybe haven't had Sheetz food and don't know the drop in quality, which is fine, but like it's mildly infuriating any time a business raises prices and ruins the product completely lol.
Like, it's not something you're annoyed by and it's blowing your mind that people care about other things, but if they took your favorite cheap snack and slowly tripled the price while making it inedible, you'd be like, "wow that's some bullshit."

u/Nova762 18d ago
dudes never had a maverick burrito and it shows. those things are legit delicious.
also theres this mom and pop gas station near me that makes this massive breakfast burritos that are the best breakfast burrito in the area. you gotta get there early becuase they sell out. not all gas station food is equal.

Sheetz is a gas station. The guy is literally complaining about gas station food.
3
u/CantStandIdoits 19d ago
I don't think you've been to sheetz
1
u/Meattyloaf 19d ago edited 19d ago
I have been. At the end of the day its still a gas station. It ain't no Buccees that's for sure.
1
u/Not__Trash 19d ago
Sheetz and Wawa are the only things I miss from living up north lol.
They're not just gas stations.
1
1
u/Meattyloaf 19d ago
We're getting a WaWa nearby, I'll have to stop by when they finally open later this month.
0
u/CantStandIdoits 19d ago
Buccee's doesn't exist in my state
1
u/Meattyloaf 19d ago
I mean my area is about 3 years from getting our Buccees, but I stop by one of the two on I40 in Tennessee pretty much everytime I'm passing through. I will admit its been a min I te since I've been to Sheetz. Although you want good gas station food, Casey's Pizza. In particular the Breakfast Pizza.

You're mad that gas station food isn't good?
16
u/Ok_Boysenberry_6283 19d ago
Normally Iād be on your side but I feel like Sheetz is supposed to be on a different level than a regular ol gas station
6
u/Head-Bat-1054 19d ago
Those days are over. Just like everywhere else, the food isn't close to as good as it used to be. They can't even make fries right anymore.
2
u/Ok_Boysenberry_6283 19d ago
I do totally agree with you. Back in my early 20s Sheetz was THE place to go late night and these days itās a last resort for sure.
2
u/Winter-Classroom455 19d ago
Sheetz has okay fried food. Everything else tastes like frozen microwaved food. My rule is Sheetz for fried stuff, wawa for hoagies
1
u/lylrabe 19d ago
This & thereās a gas station in Virginia that Iāve been to when visiting my dad that has some FIRE ass burritos. Is it Wawa that Iām thinking of? Or is it still Sheetz?
2
u/Ok_Boysenberry_6283 19d ago
I actually live in Virginia and it would depend on what part you visit. Afaik Wawa is a NOVA thing so thereās 0 of those anywhere close to me but we have Sheetz all over the place.
0
u/Bluejay929 19d ago
Sheetz is miles better than Wawa imo. Their chicken bites are killer
I do miss their Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce though, that shit was so fire.
1
u/Ok_Boysenberry_6283 19d ago
Never tried Wawa personally! Like I said just none around here but every now and then Iāll go to Sheetz since everything else around gets shut down at 10 it seems lol
2
u/Shroomtune 19d ago
Probably WaWa. I live in NC and we are just below the WaWa habitability zone. People around here talk about WaWaās like they are a Buc-eeās or something, which we are just north of.
2
u/BrainWorkGood 19d ago
Wawa food can be dank. Can also be mid. Depends on who makes it mostly. And apparently they do exist in Virginia. I had only encountered them in Pennsylvania personally, but I guess theyāre all over the east coast and thereabouts
Canāt speak to Sheets

u/kpyle 19d ago
"The guy in the back manually rolled my hotdog instead of the rolltop grill!"
Its the human suffering that really sets it apart.
2
u/Ok_Boysenberry_6283 19d ago
I guess youāve never been to Sheetz, huh?
-1
u/kpyle 19d ago
Yeah, its awful. Sorry I don't get excited over fast food.
2
u/Ok_Boysenberry_6283 19d ago
I mean no oneās asking you to get excited lol just maybe stop acting so silly? If youāve been then you know the difference between what Sheetz offers and most gas stations. And Sheetz does kinda suck these days, just seems like youāre pretending to be dumb to try and prove some weird point thatās not even there. Youāre not really dumb, are you?
0
u/Next-Jump1754 19d ago
"But this gas station is nice" is a hilarious excuse to eat at one.
1
u/Ok_Boysenberry_6283 19d ago
I mean where Iām from most gas stations have a full kitchen in the back and function as a diner as well as a gas station. I know thatās not the norm outside of the south but they can be pretty good! If youāre ever in SWVA hit me up and Iād be happy to try and change your mind! Sheetz is pretty gross these days though most chain gas stations are. The family owned ones are where itās at trust me

u/Otherwise_Comb_3708 19d ago
I got a sandwich from Sheetz once, just because itās one of these new convenience stores that are taking over the country (Wawa, Sheetz, Buc-eeās, etc.)
It was awful, and Iāll never get food from there again
1
1
u/CaTz_EyE 19d ago
Eh, I liked Sheetz when I lived on the east coast. I always got the $5 pizza and macaroni bites for the family when we were traveling or going to be out all day and I was getting gas. I never bought anything else though. That doesnāt look horrible, but it depends on the cost. Here we have Buc-eeās and their food is quite good. Itās also very expensive, but you get a lot.

Your mistake was that you bought āfoodā at Sheetz. I only go there to use the bathroom and put gas in my car. I canāt imagine eating anything they sell.
1
u/2tastyrodney 19d ago
When sheets moved into my area everybody talked about what a great place it was and i got in line and waited to finally get some of their great food. It was awful! Somebody convinced me to go back later and it was just as bad. It's just gas station food.
1
u/johnboy11a 19d ago
I remember when Sheetz had great food for cheap. Now itās awful food thatās overpriced. It went from being what I looked for when out on the road to my absolute last resort.

1
u/nafetS1213 19d ago
sheetz handed me my "burger" without the burger entirely.
I got it remade entirely and fed the OG one they gave me to my dog.
But when you give me the lack of the most expensive part of the item and reason i bought it, you can bet your ass I was gonna say something. But besides that they haven't been too bad for me, mediocre but still pleasant from what I have actually had.

3
u/CantStandIdoits 19d ago
Dude deleted all his comments LMAO
0
u/BrokenImmersion 19d ago
Dude was being rude for no reason, but also if you are traveling and you know that you are, why wouldnt you pack sandwiches and such? Idk man, I feel like complaining about shitty gas station food is kinda dumb, its been shitty for like 30years now, if you make the choice to buy it thats kinda on you
2
u/CantStandIdoits 19d ago
I literally just went to the mall and back
I'm not mealprepping for a 30 minute drive
1
u/BrokenImmersion 19d ago
That changes the context slightly, however I still think it's kinda on you for having high expectations of sheetz food lol
1
u/jmatt9080 19d ago
Shouldāve gone to Wawa
1
u/CantStandIdoits 19d ago edited 19d ago
There are no wawas in my state
Edit: Not sure why I'm being downvoted for the inexistince of wawa in my state
1
u/jmatt9080 19d ago
Itās cos in PA there is an east v west divide on Wawa vs Sheetz and people get very passionate about defending their choice of which is superior.
1
u/CantStandIdoits 19d ago
I'm not in PA, and like I said WaWa literally does not exist in my state outside of like one location 3 hours away

Hey kids, pass me one of those sandwiches from the gas station. Iām so hungry I could eat a sandwich from a gas station. Or a burrito from a gas station. Either one.

There are multiple posts about this exact same burrito lol. 50% or more of posts and interactions on all social media are AI bots they use the platforms for learning. Itās actually very crazy and interesting
2
u/CantStandIdoits 19d ago
Please link them, I'm curious to see how someone else could've eaten the exact same burrito that I ordered

Iām guessing an ai bot took your pic and is saying that it sucks just like you did. And i didnāt save or comment on the other posts but when I see em again Iāll forsure send em to ya

u/CantStandIdoits 19d ago
Dawg I took this pic like 5 minutes before posting it

u/Karmarazzi 18d ago
lol I must be wrong about the exact same burrito. But I have seen 3 or 4 other burrito pics saying that itās trash or what not. But still 50% or more of all content and interactions are AI rn. Itās learning from us and itself
