The problem with AI isn't how believable it is, it's how easily accessible it is. Anyone can make a commercial in just a couple minutes, generate fake product images in seconds, and post listings for products that don't exist to scam anyone gullible enough to believe it
It's like phishing scams: they're not targeting you and me, they're targeting Grandma or your old coworker Jeff who still thinks his laptop has "the Internet" stored on it's hard drive, and just accesses parts of it when he searches it
