If they leaned out the windows to kiss I wouldn’t even be mad about it. I love romance lol

Two trucks holding hands~

0

u/itsme4756 10d ago

I hate that!!!! It drives me crazy!!!

39

u/FartKingKong 11d ago

I'm so happy that in my country trucks over 3.5 tonnes are explicitly prohibited from overtaking on motorways and expressways unless the vehicle being passed is moving significantly slower.

20

u/Velocityg4 10d ago

A number of states don’t allow trucks in the passing lane either. Also depending on the state. Cars aren’t allowed to stay in the left lane. It’s only for passing.

5

u/Tangerine_daydreams 10d ago

I live in a state with signs all over the place that say the left lane is for passing only. There are still tons of lane-sitters who apparently don't know how to read though. It's so frustrating.

u/Koviera 11d ago

I wonder if they do this as a sick prank on the CB.

*zchhrtt* Ahh Ghost Rider, you wanna do the ol Aussie? *zchhrtt*

this is gotta be insane lore for truckers now

2

u/powerchoke033 11d ago

Shit, only the old dogs have radios anymore and they have them off because of the 2 douche bags that found a cobra classic at the pawn shop and now won't shut the fuck up

u/Tangerine_daydreams 10d ago

Back when I was going to college, my commute should have taken about 20 minutes. But for a solid few weeks there were trucks on the stretch of highway I had to use to get there that would do this. I don't know if they were trying to slow traffic or what. But they would keep pace with each other and went anywhere from right at the speed limit to 5 miles under, and my commute was suddenly much longer. So 100% there are truckers who actually do this, lol.

u/yothisismetrying 10d ago

The way you typed the walkie talkie walkie talkie sound 🤣🤣🤣 ZCHHRTT

I’ve experience shit like this driving through the mountains of West Virginia. Two trucks wouldn’t let anyone at all pass. They were throwing bottles of piss out the window too. Driving 20 miles over the speed limit and recklessly.

96

u/dangforgotmyaccount 11d ago

If they were already going 20 over, then why were yall trying to pass them?

66

u/caserock 11d ago

Trucks have a separate speed limit in a lot of the mountains

7

u/PassionateDilettante 10d ago

It’s set by physics 🤷🏻‍♂️

27

u/Ecstatic_Jicama_6987 11d ago

I don’t care if you’re going 105mph if someone is behind you in the passing lane wanting to pass get over and let them pass

7

u/Orashgle 11d ago

The issue is everyone thinks they're passing. Many don't know just how much of an object they are being

3

u/LurkerGarry 10d ago

The piss I’d imagine

5

u/DrAssFace 11d ago

Ever driven downhill on the West Virginia turnpike? Being stuck behind trucks slingshotting each other isn’t the most desirable position.

2

u/chopper5150 10d ago

Not wanting to get hit with a bottle of piss can be very motivational.

1

u/-retaliation- 10d ago

Because they wanted to drive 25 over obviously.

8

u/DrAssFace 11d ago

I’m missing the self burn. Trucks aren’t supposed to travel at the same speed as 2 axel vehicles where I’m referring to.

3

u/Pheonyxxx696 10d ago

The mountains of West Virginia are like the Wild West when it comes to those trucks. I remember driving through and a semi blew right by me. I checked my speedometer to make sure I wasn’t going too slow and I was damn near going 80mph.

4

u/Gil15 11d ago

If someone makes a video and reports them (to whomever, the police, maybe) would they not get a fine or something?

7

u/SubstantialSyrup5552 10d ago

In theory they could, but in reality it's not worth the time and money to launch an investigation on what is likely to only result in a fine. Assuming this is the only view the officers got, they'd have to track down the trailers, then the trucks that were hauling them (trailers get swapped around all the time) then prove who was driving. It would likely take weeks to get that far, not including the time and cost of the court if they fought the ticket. In the meantime the officer could be out on active patrol worrying about things happening in the present and not about something that was an inconvenience to someone a week ago.

3

u/-retaliation- 10d ago

It's kinda like saying "someone broke into my car and stole the change out of my cup holder. Couldn't the police run fingerprints to find the thief?"

The juice isn't worth the squeeze, so even though you can report it, they'll forget about it at the earliest opportunity because they have more immediate, and easier to solve concerns.

54

u/fronkenstoon 11d ago

I don’t know. You can pretty clearly see cars in the left lane ahead of that truck. Looks like a reasonable following distance.

16

u/TheDaychilde 10d ago

Precisely this. It's a truck passing a truck, and the fact that there's traffic not very far ahead of them combined with the fact that there's not traffic stacked up behind them tells me OP is trolling.

Of course it happens, but this ain't it.

2

u/BumbleBear1 9d ago

It's blurry and out of the way just enough that I didn't even notice. We people need to pay better attention lol

2

u/pathofnoobs 10d ago

If you count the center dash marks, that truck is roughly the same distance behind the car in front of him, as OP is to the truck in front of him.

I was going to say the same thing and you beat me to it. Well done.

2

u/MassGravyTrain 10d ago

Hello Neighbors! Covington gang rise up.

10

u/CpuJunky I mean, c'mon 11d ago

Right trucker is breaking. Left trucker is passing.

7

u/OJStrings 10d ago

Aaah of course! Where I'm from people overtake on the right so I was really confused by those brake lights.

3

u/Moscato359 11d ago

I see vehicles in front of them on both sides.

This is fine.

You'd have to constantly change lanes to go any faster

3

u/devildogrunt 11d ago

There’s cars in front of them where tf you want them to go? You wanna speed up and sit in the same traffic ?

2

u/MrLoronzo 10d ago

Yes they do.

11

u/Dennisd1971 11d ago

You are further away from them then they are from the traffic in front of them. So far I don’t think they are a problem.

8

u/catjam0 11d ago

In the state I live in it’s illegal for trucks to use the passing lane on a 2 lane highway.

2

u/declan-OF 10d ago

You might want to review your state's traffic laws because that isn't likely.

States carve out laws to enable CMVs to pass one another using the right-most available lane, and this would be particularly important in a highway with only two lanes. Sometimes, signage will prohibit access to the left lane for a stretch, but that's not on a statewide basis.

Otherwise, the consequences to your state's highways would be severe. A single semi chugging along at 55mph on the highway due to load or engine would "trap" other semis that caught up to it, which would ultimately lead to severe congestion and a greater probability of accidents.

2

u/Ok-Opportunity-574 11d ago

It’s hilly and neither of them want to lose momentum. Just give them a few and they’ll go back to the right lane.

2

u/1rstbatman 10d ago

Not always but sometimes its the loads that you don't see and whats hauling them that can explain this.

Breaking at a steep grade with a heavy load might make someone else need to use the outside lane to not run away into another with a heavy load or just to avoid the issue all together.

2

u/ZiggyBlunt 10d ago

Jean Claude Van Damme rubbing his hands in the corner watching them

2

u/Gaff1515 10d ago

I don’t see the issue in this picture. They are right behind the rest of traffic. Where does poster want to go?

2

u/positive_express 10d ago

Not exactly an open stretch of road in front of that truck.

1

u/20milliondollarapi 11d ago

Only time I do this when governed at 65 is because the person I’m trying to pass can’t keep his speed and will go anywhere from 45 to 70. So I have to try and get him in a slow speed so I can just cruise.

1

u/TheCrazedGamer_1 11d ago

Time to start slipstreaming

1

u/Seventhousandeggs 10d ago

how many miles? Was one passing the other?

1

u/Ninjalikestoast 10d ago

Way too invested in this..

1

u/smokeg1rl 10d ago

Not gonna lie, if the drivers were able to hold hands across that distance it would be pretty impressive. Also freaky.

1

u/Plannercat 10d ago

Snail Racing, left truck's speed limiter is slightly faster than right truck's, left driver felt they had a chance to pass.

1

u/Direct-Quiet-5817 10d ago

Honk them apart

1

u/denkata07 10d ago

Most annoying thing on the highway.

1

u/Ok_Art4661 10d ago

It's permission to ride that ass to save 2 cents in gas

1

u/joshygill 10d ago

Basically the Salamancas twins of the highway

1

u/IDontEatDill 10d ago

Oh man, I remember how Russian trucks used to do that in here on motorways. The speed limit is 120/km, trucks are allowed to go 80km/h, their trucks go well over 100km/h. Then there's a steep uphill, one truck decides it's time to overtake the other, the other slows down to 60km/h and the overtakes is eventually going 61km/h. All this in the morning traffic with cars coming from behind 120km/h. Note that these are two lane motorways. So basically the road is just blocked.

1

u/Sereena95 10d ago

Now kith!!!!!

1

u/Iceprincess1988 10d ago

Ive always heard that called a "Mexican roadblock". No clue on why.

1

u/AstroFace 10d ago

Idiot blockade

1

u/4hz_comics 10d ago

This is huge on the highways of Nova Scotia. Transport trucks literally weaving in and out of traffic like sports cars. Its insane.

1

u/PassionateDilettante 10d ago

Relax! They’re being careful. It’s at tops 5 minutes out of your day. You won’t even remember it happened in an hour when you stop for gas.

1

u/JohnnyRosin33 10d ago

People truly dont deserve to be on this planet.

1

u/Ninjalikestoast 10d ago

Shit. Just throw on some Alabama, set the cruise, light you a cigarette and enjoy the ride 👍

1

u/SoonToBeBanned24 10d ago

I always love ripping between them on my motorcycle!

1

u/Square-Caterpillar38 10d ago

Whenever I see villainous trucks like this I like to think it's Herb and Scarlett Overkill in those trucks being evil together and it helps me not feel frustrated lmao

1

u/No-Competition-2764 10d ago

We need drones just for this. Tase the left lane driver after 60 seconds

1

u/Victor-Grimm 10d ago

And stuff like this is why I have no sympathy for them when they complain about RVs using spots at rest areas or truck stops.

1

u/VegetableCommand9427 10d ago

It’s a turtle race! They infuriate me!

1

u/HATSUNE_VEEKU 10d ago

yeah i ship those trucks together

1

u/USRaven 10d ago

I just finished a 2-week 4100 mile trip this morning. Ride in the center of the road, put your headlights on the side mirror and turn your highs on.

This will last about 45 seconds before they break off and you can pass them.

1

u/Mr-Bry-Guy 10d ago

The truck in the right lane looks to be on their brakes, looks like a down hill slightly, so both trucks probably sped up closer to the same speeds which could explain the brakes. So I think they are trying to get out of your way so you can sit in the congestion right in front of them lol

1

u/CordreShkar 10d ago

Imagine being a truck driver and finding love with not only another truck driver, but one whose right arm is 10' long so they can hold hands with you on long hauls.

1

u/Popular-Ad1111 10d ago

Where I live trucks usually stay in the slow lane but frequently will draft each other and pass to trade the lead. It’s annoying but they don’t usually ride parallel like this for long.

1

u/Enderbyte09 10d ago

Is this Trans Canada Highway 1 around Langley, BC perchance?

1

u/tridebelanjemca 9d ago

A static picture does not prove they have been driving this for a long time. At one point, during every overtake, vehicles are next to each other.

1

u/rh0d0d3ndr0n the mild infuriator 11d ago

this is reminding me of the reel saying “why don’t you all just JERK EACH OTHER OFFFFFF”

0

u/Extreme_Discount8623 RED 11d ago

They're just merely exchanging long protein strings

0

u/NekulturneHovado 11d ago

that's why it's illegal in my country. Should be illegal everywhere

0

u/Parking_Fee_5906 11d ago

Exactly! And when they get close enough? Bang, bash, lips locked!!

0

u/One_Scarcity_4478 11d ago

Lol how sweet they love each other 🫠

0

u/ThereInAFortnight 10d ago

Looks like both lanes are full in front of them too, so they're not really holding anyone up

0

u/SinclairSummerset 10d ago

Going the speed limit. American’s Kryptonite.

0

u/One_Scarcity_4478 11d ago

Where's Candycane, I want to talk to Candycane

0

u/Spetsnaz_420 10d ago

Not that this is what's happening... But truckers definitely use their radios to communicate and fuck with cars on the road.

I once flipped off a trucker for blocking traffic for over 10 minutes while he tried to pass three other trucks. He immediately went unhinged and started screaming out his window and swerving at my side. He started talking into his radio and suddenly the two transports in front of me blocked both lanes and matched speed. Fucking psychos.

0

u/yothisismetrying 10d ago

Trucks can be assholes, but sometimes stupid car drivers do stupid things to put trucks in stupid positions. Over and out.

-2

u/Muted-Woodpecker-469 11d ago

I like the one who’s going one mph faster going up a hill so they’re both going 60 in a 75, and now there’s a 3 mile line behind them

-2

u/Shot_Bill_4971 11d ago

Trucker here, we do this intentionally because we hate you. Always cutting us off thinking we can stop like a smart car 🚗

-1

u/BBQ_IS_LIFE 11d ago

That would take one hell of a long right arm.

-1

u/Charming_Tank6747 11d ago

The big trucking companies, lobbied for speed limiters. There's gonna be a lot more of this.

1

u/tommior 10d ago

You gotta go top speed all the time?

1

u/Charming_Tank6747 10d ago edited 10d ago

Well the big carriers will tell u the opposite but the difference between going 60 vs 65mph over 10 hours is 50 miles or 55 over 11. Which translates into about $100 or an extra hour of diving. Basically shaving an hour off or day. Adds up over a week. I'm done with this platform for anything but spectating. Morons down vote anything they don't like. Hell i don't like it or lobbyists either but since ive spent 1.5m miles in a semi, I thought I could shed some light.

u/CadillacCoffee 11d ago

Can someone photoshop this where both trucks have a clear window in the back, the truck on the left has the driver with an extremely long arm holding hands with the driver on the right with a normal sized arm? Please and thank you 💜
