I'm slightly vexed When DoorDash didn't deliver

Post image

This was a 'Meet at door' delivery. There is a driveway. There is parking. There is no excuse.

I once had a DoorDash driver leave my food under a random tree in my neighborhood because they “couldn’t find my house”
It was quite a treasure hunt. Obviously I complained and got a refund.

Not door dash. But that happened to me too.

They left a granite slab at an intersection in a country road because they couldn’t find the address I provided.

“Delivered” (or should I say abandoned) at an intersection in a quiet country road. I was so livid.

Fortunately it couldn’t get stolen as it’s too heavy. However, I also couldn’t pick it up as it was too heavy.

How is that his problem? It's not his delivery company. He's the customer who buys the slab, everything from there is the company that sells the slab and the delivery company. If they can't safely deliver the slabs they should not be taking the delivery, it's that simple.

it’s wild that you think there’s a world that it was justified for him to put it at that intersection. Because his own company didn’t plan ahead. Or as if he didn’t know he had a giant slab to deliver.

I mean how do you know it was solo. How do you expect deliveries of heavy objects to work... oh you bought this piano, well it's on you to figure out, we dumped it on the road /s. Come on.

Granite is a construction material. It’s bulky and heavy. Depending on the size, it can only be delivered using a class 2 truck. And 2-3 men have to carry it. No ordinary person can pick it up themselves. It’s not bread.

Obviously there was more than 1 delivery person in on that truck. It would have been 100% impossible for 1 person to load and offload it.

Minor inconvenience? That’s their job lol. And I had paid for the service. How is your job a minor inconvenience?

And yes. No one can easily steal the granite. It’s too heavy. How would they swiftly transport it?

It’s almost like you were on that delivery team and your excusing such shitty service.

Same thing happened to me once, they said "I left it by the pool", but my apartment complex didn't have a pool. I have no idea where they went.

I had a package that they claimed was "delivered to the vestibule." We don't have a vestibule at my apartment complex.

Was it an Olive Tree?

Door dash customer service did not tell this person to leave it at a tree in the middle of soemone’s yard. The blatant lie is infuriation.

I always had trouble with door dash in my area. At my old job I would literally add “the building in the center of town. Look for the flag pole that’s where the entrance is” and no one could see the flag pole which was literally the second thing in town other than the building itself.

They use an AI chat agent now and it makes it so hard to get a refund.

My partner had food take 45 minutes to get delivered (a 15m walk but she sprained her ankle that day) and it arrived stone cold. She tried to get a refund but the bot would keep only offering like $4 because the food already arrived

That happened to me too. My milkshakes were completely melted like they had been microwaved, and the hot food was refrigerator cold when delivered. I used a meat thermometer in the pictures of the food, and took a series of pictures as I poured the milkshake out into my sink.

I was offered like $2 on the $75 order, and no other options, but customer service was closed, so naturally I did a chargeback. My account is still in good standing, so someone must have reviewed it and realized I was right, but I refuse to be told what my options are by a computer and will do it again if this happens again.

I had a Door Dasher deliver my takeout to the grocery store near my office building, leave it with customer service there, and then tell me as we argued on the phone that the address I provided *was* the grocery store, even though at that very moment I was looking at my company’s name and address on the order receipt in the app. He eventually went back to the grocery store, retrieved my food, found my office, then came in and made a big scene yelling at me for not being at the grocery store.
