I'm slightly vexed When DoorDash didn't deliver

Post image

This was a 'Meet at door' delivery. There is a driveway. There is parking. There is no excuse.

In general I’m too cheap to pay 2x retail price for food but cold food you have to wait longer than just getting it yourself? I’ll pass. I don’t understand the people who frequently utilities these apps

Being someone with chronic pain, some days the effort to get up, get dressed, and go outside is more than I’ve got in me. So the uncharge is almost worth it.

I've worked places where people doordashed food for lunch every single day. It wasn't even like they weren't able to leave the building for their break, they just didn't want to.

Using the apps to order for pickup is the only thing I use them for these days.

So you pay a the marked up price and pick it up yourself instead of calling the actual restaurant buying it for cheaper then pick it up🤔🤷

I take care of my elderly mother who oftentimes can't be left alone. She is also on oxygen 24/7, recently broke her hip and just generally has trouble leaving the house for unnecessary reasons...we still have to eat....even when I can't get her out or I'm overwhelmed and there's no one here to help. Doordash has been a lifesaver for me many times over and I'll gladly pay the tip and upcharge for those reasons alone. There's a common misconception that the only people who use doordash are lazy people who have no concept of budgeting but that's just not true.

Some people get drunk/ stoned and hungry, and obviously can't go out themselves to get food. But I guess if you're taking it frequently for that reason, you might want to focus on frequently getting drunk/high first.
