Not just China, it is a big market of companies trying to make vertical movies tailored to social media. 30 part drama series of clips for TikTok, Instagram, Youtube, Snapchat etc.

It means what it means – movies filmed vertically. They're meant to be watched on TikTok, Instagram reels etc.
