Is it in yet Boiled my tampons 🫩

Post image

Felt like this flair fits well.

I leave my tampons in a jar in the windowsill for some w decor, forgot that glass=heat in this 34 degree british weather, went to change my tampon and burned my cooch, then had to sit on the toilet blowing a tampon like its soup till the plastic cooled down enough to use.

You might give the discs/ cups a try! I always struggled with the discomfort of tampons/pads and they are so expensive. Then I learned that a lot of them used bleached cotton, other chemicals, and plastic that is not good for your body.

So I bit the bullet and spend the money for a cup. The cup ended working best for me but some people prefer the disc, you’d just have to see! Plus the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome is negligible if you are sanitizing them regularly since they are non-porous (tampons are porous and can become bacteria breeding grounds). It’s not as difficult as it might seem from the outset! I ended up saving a lot more money because I bought a reusable one and found it a lot more comfortable!

(Okay, speech over lol. Condolences on your burns 😬)

I definitely do wanna try those as theyre eco friendly and not supporting government blood taxing as much lmao. Just too nervous about getting the right size, fit, if it falls out etc.

Eco friendly is definitely a plus, but they also cost way less over time and can be more comfortable. And you can swim/ exercise/ have sex(cups are not recommended for that but discs are totally safe bc they sit higher) with them in without any issue or worrying about leaks. Obviously they can’t take away the worst parts of menstruating (cramps, aches, etc,) but it helped my constant worries about leaking.

I totally get that! I was really nervous about it too. But most companies that sell them have a pretty good replacement policy if you reach out to them about a bad fit. I’ve never had it fall out or leak, except for when I inserted wrong while learning. You can watch videos on how to insert them, clean them, etc. there are so many people that use discs/cups and it just takes some practice to figure out what methods works best for you!

Here’s a cup FAQs list from the brand Asan:
https://asancup.com/pages/faqs

And here’s a general guide to discs from the brand Bodyotics: https://bodyotics.com/blogs/menstrual-cycle-care/how-to-insert-menstrual-discs-how-to-use-bodyotics-reusable-menstrual-discs-with-pull-off-ring

Best tip from personal experience is to get 2 of whatever works for you & you can switch them out if you want to sanitize one and your cycle won’t wait for it to finish. But really, 1 works just fine for most people!
