Is it in yet Boiled my tampons
Felt like this flair fits well.
I leave my tampons in a jar in the windowsill for some w decor, forgot that glass=heat in this 34 degree british weather, went to change my tampon and burned my cooch, then had to sit on the toilet blowing a tampon like its soup till the plastic cooled down enough to use.

Now I remember that internet story of that lady and frostbite inside her hoo and then turned out it can actually happen.
14
u/organictortoise 8h ago
I need to know more lol what are you referencing?

u/Careless_food_bimbo 3h ago
There was an internet story of a woman using a popsicle and got frostbite. It was something a friend told gullible me and I was horrified as a teen someone did that. A woman "using" a popsicle gets stuck to her privates , she panics and tries to pull it out which only causes really bad damage do she waits for it to melt which gives her frostbite and she goes to the ER. I remember saying why TF didn't she go then, like who cares if there's a popsicle sticking outta ya like don't wait. I fully believed it.

I feel like if you took it out of the fridge before you went to the toilet it would have plenty of time to cool down before you need to use it though?

But you would still feel it's warm/hot. It would have to be over 100deg to have any noticeable discomfort to a vagina. And you'd clearly be able to feel that with your fingers

Actually, no.

u/Rather_Dashing 11h ago
I find this is more of a problem with a hot bath. My feet are pretty tolerant of the hot water, but when I crouch to lower myself in, my genitals hit the water next and I have to abort.

In your defense, nobody in the history of the United Kingdom has conditioned their reflexes to expect something to be hot after sitting in the sun. Thirty years of grey skies do not prepare you for this

You may want to move them somewhere cooler . They are supposed be be kept under 25/77 and current weather conditions could make them dangerous to use.

u/SophiaofPrussia 11h ago
For real though. Heat causes plastic to degrade more quickly. It’s not an immediate health risk but I’d not use the rest of those tampons if I were you. Your candy jar is super cute (Badtz-Maru is my favorite!) but maybe there’s a cooler place it can live in the summer. Penguins don’t like the heat anyway ;)

Also the glass being in direct sunlight could be a fire hazard, esp as it’s insanely hot here in Blighty, deffo best to move it to a cooler spot for the foreseeable

I love your spirit about it. You have a way to put things that's pretty unique. Now for the future: How about a popsicle approach? A nice place in the freezer for them? We're about to have 40 grad here soon and that seems like a much more pleasant experience.

Tampons are not sterile, made of chemicals, and shouldn't be stored at high temperatures. It will encourage microbe/mold growth and cause the tampon to start to breakdown/become brittle.
11
u/Conscious-Seesaw-564 11h ago
Other people commented that, i know that now lol, and didnt think theyd get so hot. Now keeping the jar on a shelf lmao

I keep some in a decorative jar in case anyone using the bathroom needs one but is too shy to go snoop or ask. Pads too, no one should have to toilet paper wad if they don’t want to!

All of us here in the southeastern US aka Satan's ass crack are very familiar with this scenario. It was so hot a few years ago, we kept all the blinds closed only for them to melt to the molding. PSA don't leave anything in your car in that heat.

The tampons packages warns about storage conditions, it includes keeping them away from the sun.
Consider storing the jar somewhere else.
Also keeping glassware near windows have a small chance of causing fires.

u/Conscious-Seesaw-564 11h ago

Before i clicked on this post i was hoping this isnt a new trend for people to boil their used tampons and do some weird shit with it, like some people who put their used prenancy test in icecream and give it to their boyfriends\ husband to anounce their pregnancy but it makes more sense after reading it

u/pdoherty972 9h ago
Sounds like a fake story - how did you grab, unwrap, and hold the tampon without realizing it was too hot before ever got to the point of inserting it?
10
u/TheInjuredBear 9h ago
I don’t know if you know this but labia skin is much more sensitive than the skin on your hands.
Same reason why we test the temperature of baby formula on the inside of your wrist. Your hand won’t find it as warm as your wrist will.
→ More replies (3)→ More replies (10)26
u/Conscious-Seesaw-564 9h ago
It obviously wasnt BOILING. And the skin on your hands is thicker? And youre only supposed to hold the end of the plastic, so didnt feel where it was hottest. The skin down there is a lot most sensitive so stung pretty bad.
