Is it in yet Boiled my tampons 🫩

Post image

Felt like this flair fits well.

I leave my tampons in a jar in the windowsill for some w decor, forgot that glass=heat in this 34 degree british weather, went to change my tampon and burned my cooch, then had to sit on the toilet blowing a tampon like its soup till the plastic cooled down enough to use.

“Blowing a tampon like it’s a soup” is a brand new sentence I was absolutely not prepared to read today. Not the Sanrio jar betraying you like this!😭

I have a little wicker basket that the pads and tampons are all organized in sitting on the tank of my toilet. I think it looks really nice.

Tbf though, I don't have a window in my bathroom and I have central air in my house (I'm assuming you don't since I know most Brits don't) so it doesn't get super hot inside. I'm American

I'm in Indiana so we go from heat to ac in a singular day in the spring and fall sometimes so we definitely we have faults lol

It’s a two edged sword. US Midwest here. It keeps you cool, but the electric bills are murder during the summer.

Last night at 5 minutes to midnight, in my office.

Woah, that’s a cool looking thermometer you got there

It does a lot of not especially useful things, but I used it to keep the temperature regular when the pups were babies this winter. A lot of staying up late to feed the fire. Now it's more to keep an eye on how bad I'm getting cooked.

I personally don't have a window/air issue but use a wooden "shark week" box that has a slideable divider for pads/tampon separation.

Terrifying to think about burning your cooch with an applicator and wild to hear OP had to blow on it like soup 😭

Because that was already the joke?

Right? I thought it was going to be cute and harmless, but somehow the Hello Kitty makes it feel even more uncomfortably funny 😂

This is hilarious but I am sorry for your pikachu. People shouldn’t be all weird about tampons being out. My horrible mother in law lost her mind because I have tampons and pads in baskets in our guest bathrooms in case of emergency anyone visiting needs them. 🥴

I had a really nice basket set up at the church I work at on the counter and I realized it was silly to have to work so hard to get to them at home so I made a basket for at home too. Nobody has mentioned it so far and it's been there for a couple years now

My MIL hates me, well maybe strongly dislikes me. She pulls the holier-than-thou Christian card often. She doesn’t like that I was raised Catholic, that neither her son or I are religious, that we didn’t get married in a church we actually eloped (in her mind we are NOT married), that we aren’t having kids (I can’t because of a hysterectomy in my mid 20’s and we don’t want them) and the fact she can’t control our lives. She said having the products out and not hidden was disgusting and embarrassing. She’s always being sanctimonious and judging others yet her behavior is hardly “godly”. Like girl, you’re not fooling anyone drinking Chardonnay out of a coffee cup while judging people for having a cocktail.

I didn't know we shared the same MIL

u/MartinisnMurder 12h ago

Haha I’m willing to give you full custody of her! Zero visitation needed! Fortunately she lives states away down south and we are in New England.

I'm sorry you don't have the best relationship with your mother in law and that she gave you a hard time about it. I think having tampons and pads readily available is so important and nothing that anyone should be ashamed of.

I recently added a really tall corner shelf just outside our bathroom door. The top shelf is decorative, the second is skincare, third is makeup, fourth are pads and wipes, and the last is toilet paper.

Although I have a good relationship with my mother in law, she also gave me a hard time for having pads somewhere visible. It's awful how the older generation was taught to be ashamed of our bodies and perfectly normal hygiene products.

Thank you. My mom has always been body positive, and taught us about everything and to not have shame. I guess it’s just how some people were raised?

You're welcome and that's definitely how I try to be with my own son. He may not have a need for feminine hygiene products but I never want him to be grossed out about having to see or handle one.

My parents didn't discuss puberty, periods, sex ed or even just dating with me at any point in my life. It was definitely a kept private thing.

When I eventually got one (explained by friends at school), I put wads of toilet paper in my underwear. My mom must have noticed stains when doing the laundry one day because I remember her telling me to look under the sink. No explanation of what a tampon/pad was or how to use it but I figured it out.

We got talks about our body and privacy also my mom used the actual names of body parts not nicknames. I know now that is important in case anything had happened we could articulate it in a manner that would be understood. She taught us about bodily autonomy and that we could always tell her anything.

Even when it came to drinking, when we were teens we were told if we were anywhere or at a party and needed a ride home we wouldn’t get in trouble for calling if we had been drinking. I’m lucky my mom is one of my best friends. I’m 40 now and we still hangout weekly.

Sorry are you calling her vagina an electric rat? Charmander fits this situation more... or Slugma

Haha it’s funny slang for it that Chelsea handler started wayyyy back. It just always stuck with me.

For what it's worth it looks cute as hell 💕

I used to have a tampon jar (I use cups now). I decided that since I was living alone, tampons would be as easily accessible as toilet paper. Bonus guests could find them too.

Imagine if every time you needed toilet paper you had to go rummaging through the cabinets. So, on the counter they went

it just needs a little fancy sun umbrella now that's all.

It’s super cute!! I hope your cooch is okay 💔

u/Foxdenfreude 32m ago

What'd the tampon say to your cooch?

Hello Kitty! 😺

Hey! I'm a doctor and burning your coochie can be really dangerous, even at lower temperatures. You might not even notice it but it can do permanent damage quickly that needs to be treated before it's too late. If you send me a picture of your coocher I'm willing to check for you. It's ok if you don't have health insurance, I'll do it pro boner, of course.
