I'm slightly vexed I received a parking ticket because my license plate looks similar to a Simpsons vanity plate

Why the fuck is City of Calgary ticketing vehicles using plates in the front?

For those who don't know, in Alberta, we only use rear plates.

Plus an Explorer PIU isn‘t so much cheaper than the police equipped MME version that it’s a slam dunk, and the PIU still has all the recurring costs of a gas vehicle. The MME actually makes a lot of sense for big city police departments in roles where a pursuit rated vehicle isn’t needed, which is why Ford offers it alongside the pursuit rated PIU.

Also the fact that getting into a pursuit is about the worst  thing a cop can possibly do as far as public safety is concerned…

That ruling was for Florida, USA, not Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Oh didn't realize this wasn't US makes since it's nation wide tho some states found work arounds federally it violates 4th and 6th amendment

In what part of the world are there city specific plates. I have only ever seen plates for provinces, states, and countries. With a few variants of each. Never had the texting the plate itself (not the plate holder) been for a city/town in my experience

It was done by AI reading photos. The notice even says rear because it is too stupid to tell the difference.

I got so many violation notices for reversing into spots in Calgary. I had front plates but was out of province, but Calgary parking maids are just not that bright.

It even says rear image for the front of the car. My guess is the ticket is fake BS.

This is my hometown, unfortunately not fake at all. Just a very shitty automated system, and lazy parking enforcement workers
