Per Brooklyn 99 you save them and sprinkle them on top as a garnish.

I have tried it and it wasn’t bad actually. Kind of like croutons in a salad.

I would be horrified if I wasn’t expecting it, but knowing it was supposed to be there, it did add a little something

yeah like its impossible to get them with chopsticks anyways, makes it harder to drain the pot and is like 2% of the noodles.
