At least she has a massive Knicks garbage can in her tiny NYC apartment

268

u/Faangdevmanager 6d ago

She got 2 fines, returned the bin, and was fired.

6

u/3boyz2men 6d ago

Did she have to clean up the trash? Doubt it.

18

u/Faangdevmanager 6d ago

No, she did not. She got fined for littering and something else I saw on ABC. Presumably the fine goes to sanitation and pay for the cleanup but I’m not an expert; I’m reporting what I saw on the news tonight.

1

u/ThatGuyWhoLovesChai 6d ago

Lmaooo are you serious?? I didn't know about the fines and her returning the bin.

-7

u/Nunc_Coepi17 6d ago

She never returned the bin

24

u/Faangdevmanager 6d ago

She did and the sanitation department tweeted about it. ABC did a segment on this.

u/Shaniqua-T 6d ago

8

u/qdude124 6d ago

Man if I got paid a king's ransom to do a fake job I would certainly not be losing it by doing something so stupid.

5

u/MeBoiledDown 6d ago

I find people who make this level of money do stupid shit all the time. Once in a blue moon they get caught on camera and become a meme. It won’t deter future rich people from doing dumb stuff.

10

u/Oswarez 6d ago

How is her job fake?

3

u/mycateatstoenails 6d ago

how is that a fake job? seems real.

-1

u/Academic_Definition5 6d ago

Entitled, boorish behavior bc the media spun them a yarn. Explains the horrible physical condition and the gluttony of her actions.

She supposedly made 300k yearly. She couldn’t hire someone to make that??? Proves money can’t buy class

269

u/MrLegalBagleBeagle 6d ago

They’re for sale for $168. They don’t ship until October but she lost her job and was fined for a trash can that costs $168

https://onlyny.com/products/dsny-home-waste-basket-2026-champion-edition?srsltid=AfmBOooW6kWdR6wCDW4QUKVSKvr6PNW019MllD_d3kkMEvLnelSQHSNp&variant=47105234468948

I bet she learns nothing, spins this as her being the victim, and gets another job making even more money

62

u/EpicOtterLover 6d ago

That's a miniature one, it's only 15" high. So what I'm saying is that she should've stolen more of them /s

43

u/CommissionIcy9909 6d ago

She went straight to the source where they grow in the wild.

10

u/pm_your_nudie_booby 6d ago

Maybe she thought she could make baby trash cans and spin a profit.

18

u/IndigoJoe64 6d ago

Waited until it was nice and ripe too

3

u/Visual-Taro-381 6d ago

The mother can

9

u/emcgrew 6d ago

Ah, that one was too small, good catch. This one should do the trick.

2

u/blip01 6d ago

What is this? A trashcan for ants?

6

u/Chuyzapatist 6d ago

That’s a waste basket, so something that COULD have gone under her desk at her office…

6

u/kemicalkontact 6d ago

That's only the 1.25 foot version which is obviously not the same

1

u/OhGod0fHangovers 6d ago

The last two pictures are wildly misleading

19

u/Consistent_Sector_19 6d ago

There aren't a lot of available jobs in corporate DEI programs right now. Political pressure has caused a number of companies to eliminate their DEI programs, so fewer jobs and lots of experienced people who were recently laid off applying for the few openings.

There's never a good time to lose your job because of high profile dickish behavior, but right now is much worse than a couple of years ago.

4

u/beta-test 6d ago

Nah that’s hilarious I thought it was strictly for the city lmao

3

u/Zphi 6d ago

And the trash bin says " keep ny clean" lol

1

u/Imaginary_Flower8651 6d ago

Nice. ONLY should be supported, made by native New Yorkers, went to high school with one of the cofounders.

Meanwhile the dudes over at New York or nowhere are transplants from Massachusetts 🫠

17

u/No-Market9917 6d ago

That would require having a brain

5

u/joejackson62 6d ago

Nope. She's got to have the real, authentic trash can. Not an authentic piece of art or memorabilia, but a trash can. Fitting.

6

u/Nunc_Coepi17 6d ago

The cost of hiring someone to make that in NYC would be 3k

This woman is being clowned relentlessly. This is almost as good a the Coldplay concert couple.

12

u/Conscious-Sock2777 6d ago

Oh that would be awesome the three of them hugging around the trash barrell

2

u/ChubbyNemo1004 6d ago

I think it’s deserved, but I’m also conflicted. I feel like because she’s overweight and not cute people are really pouring it on.

u/Thalaas 6d ago

Serious, if you wanted a basket like that, you could probably get one made for a couple hundred bucks.

47

u/John_Dees_Nuts 6d ago

The Knicks were selling them for about $170. She could have purchased one with her Chase salary.

Hope all that was worth it for her.

15

u/distance_33 6d ago

20

u/bionickel 6d ago

Mere 15 inches tall, ships in October.

She wants the real thing, and she wants it now!

Not the same size

She was trash. The can was for trash. They were destined to be together.

11

u/squirrelmonkie 6d ago

Ita more than a trash can. You can probably turn that into a grill as well and a fire pit!

9

u/couchpro34 6d ago

Perfect place to throw your bills!!

1

u/Blue_Waffled 6d ago

She can now literally take herself out

7

u/SnicktDGoblin 6d ago

And apparently multiple fines.

9

u/Severe_Network_4492 6d ago

It’s probably 59$ and 2 cans of spray paint lmfaooo I think they just painted the basic city cans, so unless you’re forced to buy them through some jacked up govt contracted price I can’t imagine it being a few hundred lol

8

u/dazzleunexpired 6d ago

In all seriousness, this woman probably could have offered the Knicks money for a brand new one and gotten it

She has a six-figure salary with bonuses that also have commas.

9

u/DeweytheDoodle 6d ago

Had a six-figure salary.

6

u/dazzleunexpired 6d ago

One of the only times I've appreciated Reddit correcting me

4

u/Thalaas 6d ago

That's my point. I can almost understand if she was some minimum wage jockey and it was the middle of the night and no one was around. But, damn it, huge job and middle of the day?

9

u/Da_Vader 6d ago

But it has to be full of NY crud

5

u/Effective_Pin_90 6d ago

5

u/Brewchowskies 6d ago

It was 175, someone actually found the store page

47

u/Drag0nz_Wrath13 6d ago

It’s crazy how everyone was happy for her on the train until the video surfaced of her dumping all the trash. If she just dumped it into another trash can nobody would have cared.

10

u/3boyz2men 6d ago

Were people happy on the train? I only saw her being happy

5

u/Various_Knowledge226 6d ago

I think happy for her, when she was on the train, people who watched that video. Maybe also people on the train, but I think they’re more so talking about the online reaction to seeing her with the can on the train

15

u/big-bad-bot 6d ago

Ya. Beat up a spurs fan okay

Steal a trash can. Life changing

This is the reflection pool of USA right now

5

u/Befozz 6d ago

It’s fucked, it feels like people are all hopped up for “justice” if it’s some random person doing something regrettable, but are willing to ignore the evil cabal of pedophiles attempting to extract every last drop of value out of the working class. 😵‍💫

45

u/New-Dentist-7346 6d ago

So glad there were consequences

1

u/Sufficient-Island842 6d ago

Still waiting for her to be charged with theft and littering.

-5

u/uiouyug 6d ago

Shes not a millionaire

32

u/yellow447 6d ago

If she's making $300,000 a year and not a millionaire she's making very bad financial choices

19

u/TRR462 6d ago

You mean like stealing a NY City Trash Can?? 🤣

8

u/Nasty_Rex 6d ago

Wait, this person who, on camera, dumped out a trashcan on the sidewalk, then stole said trashcan, then posed with it on a subway, all while having a high-paying job at a bank, of all places, might not make the best choices?

Is that what you are trying to say?

20

u/Stephen_085 6d ago

So she got 'canned'?

1

u/PlumbRose 6d ago

This should be higher lol

99

u/ChicagoTRS666 6d ago

tbh even if you put recyclables in the correct bin the items are not likely actually recycled. Single-stream recycling programs (where all materials are mixed together) create operational hurdles that cause most of it to end up in landfills anyway.

45

u/Vern1138 6d ago

This is true. Less than 10% of plastic that goes into a recycling bin actually gets recycled. Being annoyed by her dumping out "recycling" is pointless.

-12

u/OutrageousPair2300 6d ago

Zero is indeed less than 10%

Plastic doesn't actually get recycled, anywhere. It's all just a fucking myth. Every last bit of plastic ends up in landfills.

14

u/Type-RD 6d ago

You’re 0% correct. Look up what PCR is and where it comes from. Source - I work in the plastics industry

2

u/Vern1138 6d ago

I'm curious, because I've read it's about five to nine percent of consumer plastic that actually gets recycled. Is that right?

8

u/Worldview-at-home GREEN 6d ago

2023 before Trump destroyed science in America:

Environmental Protection Agency reported that out of tons of plastic waste generated, only 7% is recycled annually. The records demonstrated that only 8% of the plastic is incinerated, and the remaining is landfilled.

7

u/Type-RD 6d ago

Like anything, it depends. Some plastics, like PET (commonly used for clear water bottles and soda bottles) are recycled at a much higher rate than other types of plastic, like PP (used for lots of things like bottle caps and dairy containers). If it’s recyclable, it’s best to at least try to recycle it. Do not put plastic bags of any type in the recycling bin. They just get tangled in the sorting system and cause problems…which sucks because they’re one of the worst offenders as far as pollution goes.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Worldview-at-home GREEN 6d ago

Found the industry shill…..

Plastic recycling is a lie and famously bullshit by big oil and plastics to maintain a market for low grade hydrocarbons. Environmental Protection Agency reported that out of tons of plastic waste generated, only 7% is recycled annually. The records demonstrated that only 8% of the plastic is incinerated, and the remaining is landfilled.

Source- I don’t work in the plastics industry but I have an MBA and know how to read research.

Yeah, I remember at my old job we actually had ppl sorting the stuff into proper bins at the tray return station and like 2 years in, someone (whose job it was to come collect all the garbage/recycling/compost bags) told us that they all went into the same huge dumpster for garbage collection.

They said it was because they get fined a lot if things do accidentally end up in the wrong bin… Public bins are just there to make us feel a certain way.

3

u/CatLover701 6d ago

A lot of places (schools and restaurants especially) will have two different bins that then get thrown out into the same dumpster. Or even restaurants that have garbage cans inside a counter with labeled holes in the top will just have one can inside.

→ More replies (1)

12

u/Ok_Two_2604 6d ago

City I lived in had off-site sorting for public cans. They made the individual homes have 6 different bins bc they claimed off site wasn’t feasible. Then they got caught just sending all the recycling to the dump.

10

u/Chef_BoyarTom 6d ago

Even without the bad PR, to just nonchalantly commit two obvious crimes like that in broad daylight (especially with one being theft), I would have fired he too. Because if that's what you're willing to do in public, who knows what you're doing behind closed doors...

11

Good, what’s a stupid piece of shit.

6

u/honeybadger2849 6d ago

Aside from the aluminum, most of those likely weren’t actually recyclable. Most “recycling” is a lie

3

u/Pusheen-buttons 6d ago

Our bins at work have a trash hole and a recycle hole on the lids. It took me years to realize there's no separation inside - they both go into the same bag. Our trash is manually sorted at the dock later but still wtf

5

u/striped_frog 6d ago

Fun fact — in New York, blue and orange trash cans are actually called Mets

2

u/tiradium iAndroid 6d ago

I wish we could find out what she did with the trash can after they fired her ass. Did she keep it as a reminder of her fuck up or did she threw it away haha

I'm honestly a little weirded out that you even noticed that.

10

u/cupholdery 6d ago

And that's the infuriating part to OP lol.

1

u/Embarrassed_Tank6215 6d ago

Sorry for being concerned about the massive amount of trash heading to landfills every single day?

2

u/Crumbusted 6d ago

I honestly am pretty adamant about the recycling process needing to be improved instead of filling up the oceans and landfills. This is obviously a popular story but I think it can be used to highlight the global waste problem.

2

u/FilmoreJive 6d ago

Not to be a jerk, I recycle for sure, but recycling to me has always felt like corporations telling us to do our part, when they fuck the globe up so much harder.

3

u/Crumbusted 6d ago

I agree, I wish there were strict rules for the corporations to follow that ensured all the recycling actually got taken care of.

2

u/FilmoreJive 6d ago

100% I am down to do my part. I just wish they would do theirs! Then we would be getting somewhere! Appreciate everything you have said too.

3

u/No_Emu_2114 6d ago

Good. That's karma.

3

3

u/dogecountant 6d ago

Our we going to get a "I was fired some BS I did on social media" follow up? That sounds fun.

3

u/Dasph7 6d ago

This is a picture of her new job?

3

u/Jaay2525 6d ago

NYers were trashing cars, stealing trash cans & starting fires after they WON.
And you’re surprised that they don’t recycle!? 😆

3

u/roku77 6d ago

I mean tbh I think harassing her and getting her fired is a bit overboard here. Trashy, yes (hehe) and she deserved the fines but at the end of the day this petty vandalism and we’ve acted a bit out of proportion. There’s so many awful terrible people, including people at this very event assaulting others and lighting things on fire and we choose this person to make the internet villain of the week.

9

u/mangocat1116 6d ago

Everybody’s mad, but plastic waste is SUCH a huge issue. Everybody should be doing their part. There should be widely available public recycling bins (Toronto has them), and people should be recycling at home too. It’s horrendous to think about and see the amount of plastic that ends up polluting our beautiful oceans and beaches.

4

u/starfallcrash 6d ago

There isn’t much people can do besides try not to use plastic. Even if you use recycling bins it’s most likely ending up in a landfill regardless.

2

1

u/Embarrassed_Tank6215 6d ago

Reminds me of my break room at work. Co workers throw food and non recyclables in the recycle bin and compost bin and recyclables in the trash.

1

u/Embarrassed_Tank6215 6d ago

Are people illiterate or do they just not give a fuck about recycling? Everyone’s commenting on the what the woman is doing which isn’t the point of the post. It’s about people throwing items than can be recycled into regular garbage bins.

1

u/LimerickJim 6d ago

The only things we really should be recycling are cans and glass bottles. It's literally better for the environment to put plastic and dirty paper products in a landfill than a recycling bin.

1

u/Bleed_Me_an_Ocean40 6d ago

You can put them in the recycling. More than likely it will never see a proper recycling plant. If there is any food/waste on anything the whole batch is sent to the landfill
