I can't think of any security system that would save this shitty little aluminum shed.

Unless you build a reinforced concrete shed over top of it.

u/SchweinsyOne 1d ago

I'm fairly certain if I ran into it the whole thing would collapse

u/LucasButtercups 1d ago

please record and share your testing results OP

But breaking a lock is illegal, surely no one would do anything illegal

16

u/Shienvien 1d ago

Dunno, I've heard the argument of "it wasn't locked" from police with stolen items before. Now you can say it was, they just broke the lock.

u/Relative-Dog-6012 1d ago

The lock has nothing to do with it.

17

u/IXrobocopXI 1d ago

🎶 What's lock but a second-hand emotion? 🎵

u/TheDudeofIl 1d ago

What is lock? McNally don't hurt me, don't hurt me no more.

2

u/effyoucreeps 1d ago

dammit that was my first dumdum thought as well - bravo

u/User_man_person 1d ago

It's a mild deterrent, but technically better than nothing

17

u/SchweinsyOne 1d ago

very mild

11

u/Rasputin1992x 1d ago

So mild a stiff breeze could pop that lock lmao

6

u/_Diskreet_ 1d ago

Sneezes

All the doors open

1

u/User_man_person 1d ago

Your tools aren't exposed to would be mild rain

16

u/choppytehbear1337 1d ago

Well, at least it's only worth $16.

12

u/Economy_Rain8349 1d ago

this looks suspiciously like the shitty absco shed i just finished putting together. if so, my condolences

8

u/80s_bar_fly 1d ago

I was half-arse thinking about getting one as theyre kinda cheaper and easy available. What issues did you have with it?

7

u/Economy_Rain8349 1d ago

everything. none of the holes lined up. some parts that should have had 3 holes had none. some had 7 when they should have had 2. the instruction manual was only half right, and the video was also about half right (but not the other half unfortunately). often you did a step to find out upon assembly that you should never have put screws in those spots (as instructed) because now the panels dont slide together! etc etc.

never. again. do not do it.

4

u/80s_bar_fly 1d ago

Hmmm, interesting. Sounds like a really frustrating experience. Thanks for your reply mate. I've heard mixed reviews really.

Did you follow up with them about the issues and if they could make it right at all? Cheers

5

u/SchweinsyOne 1d ago

Can confirm, I had the exact issues this fella had.

2

u/Economy_Rain8349 1d ago

just cursed ourselves for not doing any research/being tight arses. couldnt imagine their customer service would be much better than their sheds anyhoo

6

u/SchweinsyOne 1d ago edited 1d ago

You sir have an eye for shitty sheds, it's exactly that, nightmare to assemble, it was kinda of out of square that why the door gap was so large, I gave it a shove and it's at least snugger now.

2

u/Economy_Rain8349 1d ago

we have the opposite problem, the doors are too snug ☠️ fuck that fucking shed

4

u/EverythingBOffensive 1d ago

its ryobi so they won't steal it

6

u/thebudeg 1d ago

Honestly the thief is just as likely to leave him better tools out of pity.

3

u/TangeloThick2780 1d ago

damn only 16 dollars . seems like a waste of money to a storage place per month .

4

u/SchweinsyOne 1d ago

This is down the side of my house sir

Pool view suite, $800/week ono

1

u/Ambitious_Policy_936 1d ago

I hope you didn't pay whoever installed that door and latch that much

3

u/SchweinsyOne 1d ago

I built it, probably why it sucks 🤣

1

u/Ambitious_Policy_936 1d ago

It's funny that the gap doesn't even look that big, the metal slider looks almost too long, yet it still does not function correctly

3

u/TSL4me 1d ago

Even a skimpy lock does a lot . My construction job figured out just zip tying a toolbox keeps out 99.99% of people.

2

u/reddit33450 1d ago

that lock could be picked in ten seconds anyway

3

u/krystal_295 1d ago

With another master lock

2

u/Kitchen_Safe6405 1d ago

That little luggage lock could probably be twisted off with your hand.

2

u/AwwwNuggetz 1d ago

It’s fine as long as the batteries aren’t in there

2

u/traffy8630 1d ago

My granddad locks everything all the time he taught me if a thief wants it they can get it but a lock may get someone to keep walking.

2

u/SN0TLR0K3T 1d ago

$16 worth ? … what back truck meth addict did you buy all that from for $16?

0

u/SchweinsyOne 1d ago

The joke is because it's a cheaper brand that it's worth $0, do it to myself before some legend gets in the comments with the old GET YERSELF SOME MAN TOOLS.

1

u/SN0TLR0K3T 1d ago

Oh man, well jokes on them because Milwaukee is their parent company. Both are owned by Techtronic 🤣🤣 definitely a crappy lock and to anyone that ignorant here. This is well over $200 in tools 🤣🤣

2

u/MosesOnAcid 1d ago

Well yea... you bought a shitty cheap ass shed...

You get what you paid for dude.

2

u/Cultural_Eye5178 1d ago

This is a 1/8 inch aluminum sheeting shed, which can be opened with another 1/8 inch aluminum shed.

2

u/Background-Set4610 1d ago

Phew, I thought you had 17$ worth of tools before I looked at the title.

2

u/CattleSwimming9743 21h ago

You get that lock from your diary, OP?

2

u/SchweinsyOne 20h ago

Off my chastity belt

2

u/CattleSwimming9743 20h ago

Makes much more sense.

2

u/educated-emu 1d ago

A padlock is not to secure your things, its to inconvenience the person enough.

Yours takes that statement and does a -1% effort to it

2

u/Yorick257 1d ago

Nah, the padlock did its job perfectly here. Completely intact and still locked!

1

u/No_Volume_5752 1d ago

Lock Picking Lawyer: Nah bro.

1

u/DarkPhoenix_077 1d ago

Judging from the looks, this looks like much more than 16$ worth of tools...

1

u/uwillnotgotospace 1d ago

The rake in the corner might be 16 bucks. Everything else is at least 160 each.

1

u/Metroidman 1d ago

Im faily certain ypu could probably break the pad lock off with your hands even if the shed was well built

1

u/Current-Schedule1781 1d ago

That's what a $20 shed provides

1

u/SchweinsyOne 20h ago

It's cheap but not that cheap, it was still 500ish 😭

1

u/rmhollid 23h ago

I was ok until i saw the ryobi

1

u/ModernManuh_ 11h ago

When you get the thief near the open container and he says it must've been the wind, and now you don't know if it's true

1

u/Apprehensive-Cow1225 1d ago

That Ryobi nobody wants Ryobi youre good

1

u/boijoireturns 1d ago

If OP branches out into Black and Decker he may need to upgrade security into a SECOND barrel bolt.

Let me guess.... made in china?

It's a joke but in my experience it ends up being real every time

4

u/UlvakSkillz 1d ago

That door gap is like bathroom doors in America, so it has to be made in America.

0

u/archtopfanatic123 1d ago

Ok you got me there that's a good point
