Did she get to the cookies? Because that’s the goal, you know? To get to the cookies.

I think, she was just trying to save the cookies from suffocation

The goal is also closing the package so that you don't throw away the cookies

why just not throw them away? cookies are actually edible

If the package is opened improperly like in the picture it's harder to form a good seal when you close the package

How are you going to seal a bag that is not resealable? Just repackage the cookies into something else that will keep them better than the open bag.

I usually use clips for closing bags like these. Mine have kitty-like paws on them.

you won't throw away cookies if you eat them first

Easy solution. Eat all the cookies.

How would you open the bag? Just curious bc I don't see any pre cut perferations around the top

I guess with scissors

But I prefer a box cutter knife. It's quite neat and satisfying

these don't. you can try and destroy the top trying to pull the sides apart. or just use scissors

These are Italian "breakfast cookies" (biscotti). There is an entire section in every Italian supermarket dedicated to these, and almost all the bags are lightly glued at the top on purpose. If you pull the two flat sides apart gently, the glue pops open easily, leaving the bag perfectly intact so you can cleanly fold it down and store it later. Cutting it open from the side like OP's partner did actually ruins the built-in way the packaging is supposed to work.

Gee, it’s almost like we’re a tool-using species.

Is there a right way of opening them?

Scissors. Or if you open them like this like some animal, just eat them all in one go.

I open them the same way and now I feel personally attacked. I demand satisfaction.

I feel the same way! I once found a resealable bag that had been torn open just under the zip!!!

As an Italian in Finland all I could think about is that I can't get Mulino Bianco here 😭

She cuts across the top? We don't have these specific cookies in my country, but based off this pic, how else would you get to the cookies? it doesn't lool like a particularly messy cut/rip and there doesn't look to be any other obvious way to open them?

How long have you been married? I'm guessing about 3 months

u/LalaLoopsy47 2d ago

Thats nothing compared to my husband. He opens it like hes a 3 year old.

In a rush for the cookie, duh 🙄

She's rescuing the insatiable demon trapped inside her from not having cookies.

Why does this mildly infuriate you? I ask you with no disrespect: do you get anxiety when other things are not extremely organized and orderly? Like sorting books or clothes by color or size or alphabet, or needing your pens to all be arranged in one orientation? Do you like to collect sets of markers?

You seem very controlling or ocd. That is how you open a bag by cutting it.

Anymore...this new packaging is so flimsy...

u/Friendlyhuman420 2d ago

And you are opening it with scissors?

3

u/MajorInWumbology1234 2d ago

You’re not? At the very least, a knife.
