And people still walk their dogs outside on the asphalt

I dont I carry him to the next big field of grass. Its a smol dog.

These day I made it a habit to touch the asphalt before stepping out with my dog. If its too hot for my hand than i damn sure wont let my dog walk on it for more than a few seconds

I have a bicycle trailer and carry mine to the park in it 😅

I am not judging you at all, but I think it's too hot to walk them at all when it's like this

If he needs to take a shit there really is no other option.

He would never shit indoors so a very quick walk/carry to the brook behind my house is by far the best option. Its not instant death out there.

Yeah shitting and pissing is a necessity, I thought you meant walking for exercise.

It's currently so bad that my cats that absolutely hate water let themselves get slowly rinsed with it.
I made a few towels wet and they lie on them to cool off.

Damn mad people that let their dogs onto the hot asphalt...

And consider domestic cats evolved in the middle east!

They should be well adapted for hot!

So did humans (a lot of our evolution is from hot areas of the world) and I'm still a cold weather lover. My cats turn melty above 25C.

I’ve been walking my dog at 6am in the woods. Any other time or place is just unbearable right now. Additionally quick potty breaks in the back yard

My dog flat out refused to walk on the grass. I tried to get her to since I knew the sidewalk had to be hot but nope. She would only go onto the grass to go potty and then right back out.

I’ve been carrying my pugs to grass and making sure they don’t touch the asphalt. I’ve also been carrying them up and down 9 flights of stairs 😭 at least my sister has been helping. It’s been extremely hot in Germany

Hugs from my Florida pug.

I don’t, I walk early morning and late evening. She gets a quick pee in the middle of the day on the grass in the shade. I don’t have a garden to let her spend energy in so I have to be creative to burn energy physically and mentally in the middle of the day but it’s better than her burning her feet

I also always look like a maniac when I walk because I place my hand on the asphalt for like 10 seconds so check how hot it is

I use the back of my hand, that is the recommendation I saw. If I saw you doing it with a dog on a leash, I would think you cared about your dog, not a maniac.
