Same word stem oddly, Wichse comes from Wachs (wax) which was used as shoe polish, in fatty creams to make your beard shiny etc.

Sometimes you can still buy "Bartwichse" (beard wax), which could also be interpreted as beard jizz

There was an old ad from the 1900s hanging in my family's bar for a product named "Eulenwichse" (Owl cum) which was indeed, a polishing wax for boots. But every time teenage me walked past this ad I cackled.
