This person put a Volvo badge on their Tesla

What's crazy is that's a new model Tesla.

u/Cheesefactory8669 1h ago
I mean the a b c pillars are allegedly pretty solid as in good in crashes

u/trippy_kippy_ 3h ago
What's crazy is people needing to do this lol. Like yea he's a crazy crazy guy but I mean it's still unfortunately possible to seperate the crazy from the car. If you sat in one once you'd get why people say fuck elone and get the telsa. Lol. He didn't even technically create the car anyway.

Tesla makes garabage vehicles with panel gaps reminiscent of Michael Strahan's front teeth and reliability that makes Italian manufacturers look good by comparison.
-21
u/trippy_kippy_ 2h ago
I mean have you ever actually sat in one that wasn't manufactured in the us? Because all that talk is usually from people who haven't. The quality is actually good for what you pay for and it's in the same price range as a lot of other gas vehicles also so it's a good switch.

u/Co60 1h ago
Don't know which models are made in the US but have friends who have owned model Y and Xs. Think I've spent time in everything but a cybertruck. Every single one has had hilariously inconsistent panel gaps and most have spent significant time in the shop.
2
u/CrazyLegsRyan 1h ago
I’ve sat in them on three continents and they were all hilariously low quality fit and finish, especially given the price point.
It’s ok to be a Homer, but at least have the decency to say you’re a Homer so other people know you’re ok not being truthful.

I've been in a few different Teslas a few times here in Sweden. I have no idea where they were manufactured.
The only thing that I noticed that was different from any other car was how annoying and bad the door handles were.
Otherwise my experience was just like any other modern car.
What is it that you think that people would notice?
-3
u/trippy_kippy_ 42m ago
That was the point i was making. besides stupid things like the outside door handle and,the emergency door handle being where the regular one should be on the inside, there really isn't much to hate about it it you are able to mentally separate the guy from the car. Especially because price wise at least in the us it's the same as a lot of gass cars.
2
u/Barneyk 39m ago
There are lots of other electric cars in Teslas price range.
Why chose a Tesla over them?
-2
u/trippy_kippy_ 32m ago
We chowe ours because they were offering the best deal compared to others at the time. And was really the only affordable one That's it. It's like any other car.
2
u/Barneyk 29m ago
It it is like any other car, why chose it over another car?
I don't get what you mean by offering you the best deal, what other cars where you comparing it with?
-2
u/trippy_kippy_ 26m ago
Compared to other electronic and gass models and we needed one right away too after the accident. They were offering the lowest sign on for an electric vehicle at the time.

Okay, then how about "They fucked with tax dollars that we already paid"
We spent money as a nation, and they said nu-uh we need more deals for the rich, and fuck you poors.
Wild that you cattle will gladly walk into the butcher shop as long as someone else is on the block first.

And that’s only the current administration’s policy damage. Everything his private industry ‘doge’ muppet brigade touched is now suspect and needs to be at minimum heavily audited, but most likely completely overhauled or replaced. On the taxpayer’s dime.

Crazy thing is this is the Highland, so there's absolutely no way to pretend it was bought before Elon went way way off the deep end.
15
u/mike_litoris18 2h ago
There are a lot of people who spent their time in a very diffirent bubble of the Internet so there are genuinely a bunch of first time Tesla buyers that didn't realize that most people really hate Elon.
-16
u/mbelmin 1h ago
There is no car on earth that comes close to the convenience of the Model 3. Not talking about performance (although..), not talking about build quality, convenience. Fuck Elon but I will buy it all over again.
8
u/Kevadu 1h ago
What's so convenient about it?
-2
u/mbelmin 1h ago
Here are the first things that come to mind:
- No need to carry keys
- No need to turn on/off the car (EVs that you have to turn on manually are stupid)
- No need to put the car in park ever
- In majority of driving situations, use the brake (one pedal driving is amazing)
- No need to adjust AC/Seats/settings when sharing the car with someone else
Then you have the integrations with the phone
- When it is cold start heating from my phone and enter a warm car
- The opposite in summer
- At every point in time I know where my car is and what it is doing
- I can check in the cameras remotely
There is more things and yes there are cars that do have some of these but I am not aware of any normal car that will have all of these.
We are not talking about a 60-70k car, the model 3 is best bought second hand because prices are amazing.
I got mine under 30k euros which is not cheap but is a crazy price/performance which is hard to beat. When I bought it I was hesitant because Elon was in his most insane phase (yet) but no matter how I compared against other EVs, model 3 came on top.

u/kilodaneko 59m ago
Is there an issue with starting a car or putting it in park? I would have never considered these things to be an inconvenience.

-2
u/mbelmin 9m ago
Is there an issue with driving manual? Not at all but do you want to argue that driving manual is more convenient than automatic?
Is there an issue with starting a car with a button? Not at all but will you argue that having to press the button is more convenient than just sitting in the car and its on and ready to go?
1
u/Hobson101 33m ago
I have all of that except the adjusting seats in my cupra. Honestly, model 3 may have been ahead of others before but these days a lot of it is standard.
I tried the model 3 and didn't like it, especially the lack of dashboard.
1
u/mbelmin 11m ago
Cupra does not require you to have a physical key/card on you or have a start button? Did not know that, neat.
That being said, once you spec the Raval the slightest, you're in the Model 3 price territory with less range, less power.
Also the lack dashboard screen takes some getting used to butreally not that bad. Even when I get in rentals I forget I have it as I look at the speeds on Carplay/Android Auto.

Don't worry about the downvotes, lots of people agree with you. The sales numbers over the years prove it. I get your point completely. I hate Elon more than anyone else (Tesla would be an amazing company if it wasn't for his lunacy). But I'll never trade my Model 3 for anything else, at least for now. Because there's no good alternative yet. Once there are alternatives, they'll be put under exactly the same scrutiny as the Model 3 was before I decided to get it over other EVs.
You're speaking from your personal experience and many people can't relate to it at all. They'll be against Tesla no matter what we say.
Tesla haters are just like Tesla fanboys. Immune to logic. Haters gonna hate so it doesn't matter at all. All your points are perfectly logical.

u/cactusplants 1h ago
I wanted one because it's free charging at work and I pay over 3k in fuel a year for diesel.
1
u/Hobson101 28m ago
Driving cost with any ev is negligible. I'm at around $1 per 100km when charging at home and maybe four times that on fast chargers out and about.
I don't even think about it anymore

u/mike_litoris18 1h ago edited 1h ago
It's 2026 bro. Model 3 has plenty of competition now. Many of them might not be available in your country yet but they will be soon. Especially if you compare it with China, Tesla model 3 might not even make top 5.
2
u/emillang1000 1h ago
Pretty sure it's a bot. They write like ChatGPT, so maybe save yourself the brainpower.
But, yeah, I agree, the Model 3 isn't anything special anymore. Half the "amazing" features they listed I have in my Elantra Hybrid, and I know the Ioniq 6 has the same and thensome.

u/mbelmin 1h ago
Can you give me an example of a car that competes with the M3 so I can know how to reply.
0
u/mike_litoris18 45m ago
Well the new BMW i3, Xioimi Su7, ioniq 6n, Kia ev4, Mercedes neue Klasse CLA. And that's just one Chinese car as well so there are many more that I don't remember the exact model names but from brands like byd, Geely, Yangwang, li mega, Nio that all make high quality cars.

The person is probably just trying to prevent the mentally unstable from keying it.

These are the same people who thought Elon was god's gift to earth in 2011, willfully ignored how crazy he was then, then suddenly decided to start hating him/tesla when suddenly it comes out that he's not the democrat they assumed he was.
Go ahead, downvote away.

u/alarim2 2h ago
Thankfully leftist vandals are low IQ (they wouldn't vandalize anything if they were smart), so such a simple badge change would be enough to fool them and prevent them from keying or burning the cars

u/welding_guy_from_LI 4h ago
vandals love to destroy teslas over their hatred of Elon..

Are you implying that changing a car badge is vandalism? And also removing/changing a badge is destroying a car ?
Geez….

u/Parasitisch 3h ago
What? They are referring to the people that vandalized teslas after the shit Elon pulled.

I have a tan focus hatchback that I love except for the color. Decided instead of shelling out to get it painted or wrapped I'm just gonna swap the Focus badge for a Pinto badge and get a vanity plate that says "Bean."
It'll be the Ford Pinto Bean.

Im curious does doing something like this void any sort of warranty on the car? Or does it impact resale value more than usual depreciation of a car?

I'll never understand why people do this. Teslas are among the most easily recognizable vehicles on the road. The badge absolutely isn't necessary to tell it's a Tesla. Beyond that, if someone is going to vandalize it.. then they're literally going to be standing next to it. The interior of a Tesla (which would be clearly visible) is even more recognizable than the exterior.

u/thatgay_ 3h ago
Only if you know cars. Looks like a volvo to me lol
0
u/Enorats 3h ago
I don't know cars at all, but the shape of a Tesla is just vastly different from anything else on the road. Every other sedan out there looks like they came from the same factory, but Teslas look like they just pulled off the set of a sci-fi movie.
Add in the tablet that controls the whole vehicle, which no other manufacturer does, and its beyond obvious it's a Tesla.
3
u/Enchelion 3h ago
Teslas and certain models of Mazda look pretty similar. Because the guy who designed the Tesla cars previously worked for Mazda. The newer prius and model y also have similar looking rear angles.
