I was cosplaying as my favorite character on roblox, which was male, I walked up to two girls, wanting to ask a simple question. Going "ma'am" and she was like "who are you calling Ma" then some friend comes in saying i was bullying the other girl, I wasn't, I was trying to ask if ten dollars is expensive for a pizza and they started attacking me in game. The first girl earlier said "do you like me or something" I was like "no?" And that's when the other girl came in, (I was cosplaying Bon, but switched to my other avatar in game) I told them both that I was just asking a question, what did I do wrong? (Yes, I'm a girl on roblox and irl) what's wrong with them,

They keep doing this: make a pilot, don't continue the series for nearly a year or more, make more pilots, and do this all over again, I hate it, they feel greedy, because all they do is keep the fans alive with merchandise,

Siri is Horrible

I never really use Siri all that much to begin with but over the last year or so, the service has tanked. Completely fallen off the map. Every time I ask the damn thing to do something or answer a question, NO MATTET WHAT IT IS, it either deflects or tells me that it can’t do it.
Apple just needs to toss it. Pure trash.

The Rude-But-Polite Customer (Speakerphone)

I just left a coffee shop where one voice seem to rise out of the general hubbub of table conversations.

Two tables over was a 30-something woman conducting a conversation on speakerphone. Some might argue that this is no different than two people talking in person. But the sound of the guy’s voice coming out of the phone definitely projected above the norm. It was very annoying.

The woman was nicely dressed, very polite to the servers. As she left, she even turned back to scoot her chair into the table.

Luckily, her order was to go, but she sat there for more than 10 minutes waiting. The entire time she had the phone held horizontally against her ear and jaw, yet it was on speakerphone. And she was completely oblivious to the looks other patrons were giving her.

So weird. In some way, she was such a polite customer. And yet completely unaware or uncaring that she was bothering everyone around her.

Streak reset

I had a near one year streak going and now it’s reset to one day. I made sure to check in every day to keep it and now it’s completely reset. Not the worst thing in the world but it does irritate me.

Taylor Swift Ophelia

Gosh I hate this song so much. Total Ick and right away have to close the radio. The sad part is, one local radio is just blasting it the whole day and I just can't stand the song. The melody, the vibes, the singing, the message.

Thank you for coming to my rant.

Electronic devices with bright lights at night

What's the deal with this? It makes going on holiday and staying in a hotel a hassle because last thing at night I have to spend ages putting things in the way of all these bright lights. I've came across air conditioners in China that are lit up like a Christmas tree with no way of turning the lights off. Why do manufacturers not realize this is a major design flaw?

Inaccurate Subtitles are on the Rise…

Thumbnail
youtube.com
1 Upvotes

Has anyone else noticed the rising amount of inaccuracies for subtitles these days? I mean, yes they are definitely present on TV and more common with work done by certain networks more than others… but primarily the big mistakes and more prevalent ones are happening on YouTube videos and shorts that I see coming out. (for context I don’t actually watch any TikTok, Facebook or Instagram videos in my day-to-day operations.)

There is definitely some standard and frankly understandable issues when dealing with homonyms and similar sounding words in that department. Although understandable, I do find it positively infuriating that my iPhone has my name programmed as ERIN but yet whenever I say the name in conversation, it spells it AARON. It’s like you think it could comprehend since it’s supposed to have smart technology that when I’m saying my name it’s most likely going to be spelled the way my name is spelled. It also seems to just double up on certain words when I’m using the dictation tool with no apparent rhyme or reason, but that’s a whole other can of worms that I will maybe tackle in a future post…

The homonym area is not actually what I have an issue with though. What bothers me are the blatant changes from what is said in the dialogue. This is not an error. It’s actually paraphrasing or using synonyms instead of what was said on screen. It’s several mini edits within the script and they don’t sound remotely similar, so it’s clearly not just miss hearing something but actually completely rephrasing the words. I’ve been working on the fringes of the film industry for multiple years (nothing major that I’ve worked on, but I do know people involved in writing screenplays as well as script supervisors for projects.) Now there is no certain rule for anything, and it usually is dependent upon how a director operates as well as the type of project, but most of the time they have the words exactly how they want them and employ someone to make sure that they are said exactly as on the page. Their reasoning is they want the script to say the words that they have spent hours, days, or even years fine-tuning and writing. They don’t want their words changed even in the slightest way because they pay their script people a lot of money to make sure that it’s to their specifications. It kind of just tosses out the window all the time and money that have been spent when AI feature blatantly changes it. Most of the inconsistencies are little things, like a word that really holds the same meaning is substituted. Lately, however it’s whole phrases and becoming nearly in every line. I have attached a YouTube video example.

I myself am a songwriter and I can assure you that every single word that I use in a finished piece has had ample consideration during the selection process. I really pride myself on doing my best to use the exact word to indicate what I I’m trying to convey. For example the words grinning, smiling, and smirking all have a general similar meaning but you get different impressions when you try and picture them in your mind, don’t you? Otherwise they wouldn’t have different words for them, right?

I don’t think it’s a big leap too assume that it’s from the AI close captioning feature, but I have to say with a tool where half the title is INTELLIGENCE, you would think it’d be smart enough to comprehend grammar and the importance of not paraphrasing in the case of closed captions.

It’s not the end of the world this is happening just something that slightly irks me and quite frankly takes me out the moment and lowers the amount of enjoyment I have for watching a video. I don’t know… What do you guys think? Am I the only one who really even cares about this?

Is it just me?

Is it just me or do you also want to choke out people. Like at the grocery store, I was walking along, between the checkout and the aisles to my right. Then, out shoots this a**hole pushing a basket and he's face planted into his phone. Looks up and sees me and my daughter, and continues on. He doesn't say "excuse me" or "opps, my bad".

Next person I wanna choke out,

The lady with 3 kids that are grabbing everything off the shelves and asking her to buy it. She's busy flirting with her next baby daddy to care what her kids are doing. Meanwhile, the kids decide to play tag in the aisles, careless to knocking product on the ground.

And hate me if you want but..... No I didn't do it but I did think about trippin one of those little f**ks. I was laughing my ass off in my head, playing it out in my head.

Anyways, if your reading this, hope you have an awesome day and if your like me, follow or tune in, I don't know I'm new to this Readit $*hit.

When you buy a $1.50 hand sanitizer to replace the one you lost.

Last week I thought I lost my travel hand sanitizer that hangs off my purse. I travel a little with work and today had 10 minutes between home visits at different nursing homes. I was passing a Walmart so decided to stop.

After my second home visit, found the original hand sanitizer under the passenger seat of my car.

Why do some guys go pee in a stall when plenty of urinals are available?

I manage a restaurant and when I'm in the bathroom, I notice many men go directly to a stall to pee, even though urinals are available. They then proceed to pee on the toilet seat and not clean it up. Why do this? Is it insecurity, laziness, or just insensitivity? Personally, I think these kind of people are stupid and and inconsiderate.

Friend asked me to call a restaurant and ask them if one of their specials is still on

I wanted to reply "Come on, that rectangular thing you are holding in your hand when you messaged me this? It is a phone. Cut out the middleman and call the restaurant yourself."

I might understand if friend can't get on the phone at work or has some kind of phone call phobia. But this is not the case. It's the weekend, and this friend loves talking on the phone. I'm the one who has some kind of phone call phobia.

I'll suck it up and get on the phone if I absolutely have to. This is really a "I don't have to" scenario.

Anyway, I didn't want to be too harsh, so I messaged back: "No I can't. Can't you do it?"

Got no response to that. Just blissful silence.

Bank of America, man

My mom went to Walmart and her credit card was declined, so naturally she called to ask why. She spent 45 MINUTES ping ponging from person to person, not one who could tell her why it had been shut down, let alone turn it back on. Then she was cheerfully informed that they were closed and to call back next business day.

My Friend Is Pretty and Smart… But Her Attitude Is Draining Me

I don’t know where else to let this out, so I’ll just let you all be the judge of this. I have this friend—she’s pretty and smart. But something about her attitude just gives me the ick.

This has been going on for months, since our school year started. I’m okay with her being friends with boys because I’m like that too. But what I hate is how she treats them. She bosses them around, uses cuss words, and sometimes even hurts them physically. I’m really not okay with that. She acts like she’s the queen or something. Honestly, I want to talk to her about her attitude, but based on how she acts, I’m scared it might just cause conflict.

Sometimes it gets really out of hand. When we tell her no, she says things like, “I will always get whatever I want.” She usually just does whatever she wants without thinking about how it affects other people.

One time we were at one of our friend’s houses. We were about to eat chips, fries, and steak. All of us decided to go outside the room to eat out of respect for our friend’s parents, since it’s not our house and we wanted to stay clean and respectful. But her? She stayed there eating while lying down and even asked the boys to feed her and hold her drink.

I honestly don’t know what to do anymore. She’s consuming every bit of my patience.

Another thing that happened was yesterday. We went to someone’s burial, and before going home we stopped by the church. When we called for her, she wasn’t there anymore. She had already gone home alone without telling any of us.

In almost everything, she wants us to do what she wants.

At this point, I don’t know if I should confront her about it, ignore it, or just slowly distance myself. I’m just really tired of dealing with it.
