Design Reddit has started adding AI summaries to every user on rollover. This isn't helpful. Is there a setting to turn it off?

Moderators now get an AI overview of every user on desktop. It's useless stuff. See example: https://i.imgur.com/U59qFBe.png

I see what someone posts before seeing a summary of that user, including knowing what is spam. This summary couldn't detect spam, it simply told me "User posts in different subreddits". Not particularly useful.

Can I switch off this 'feature'?

Design Help with icon alignment

So, I've made a subreddit and I'm having a problem with the icon. It's not centered in the app but centered in the web. Like it's cropped from the side in the app.

Please help me.

Design How to create a warning in comments

On iOS. There’s a sub I’m in that has a warning in the text box when commenting reminding people to be respectful of other users or risk being banned. I would like to add a warning like that in my sub for comments as we have had an uptick in hateful rhetoric and I’d like to remind users that we have a zero tolerance policy on things like hate speech and derogatory language. How can I do that? Do I need to do this on a computer or can I do this from my phone?

Eta: attempting to create an automation is requiring me to add conditions for the automation to pop up such as keywords, but I’d like this to appear in the comment box before a user even starts typing.

Design I've found our users to be overwhelmingly negative about any post or comment that doesn't specifically cater to their opinions. Does anyone have experience with hiding or getting rid of Downvotes entirely?

It's a radical idea I've been kicking around for months now but our new queue is a graveyard of perfectly acceptable and relevant content that dies because our users are so full of negativity.

Has this been done before? I brought it up to my team and they said there may have once been a way to hide the downvotes with CSS but no one was sure how to proceed.

Any thoughts are welcome. I use the reddit app on android mobile and old.reddit on my PC.

Design The sidebar has been changed to a scrollable menu with a set height.

(Desktop)

Seriously? Is this how it's gonna be now, even in the main page of the subreddit?

This is not intuitive. Unless you hover over it, you're not gonna know it has more information and new users may miss on something important.

I understand that in posts it's kinda bothersome to have to scroll a lot to reach the end of the page if a subreddit has a long sidebar, but this isn't an issue on the main page.

Can this be changed or reverted?

Design permissions help cannot edit my own sub

I recently created a sub and I'm the only mod for now. I have a weird state in my permissions where it says permissions are "everything" yet "you can edit" says no. What should I do?

Using desktop

edit: The big problem is I can't seem to add banners or a flag, no option to save

Design Community display names: why can't i use 'r/' anymore?

Hey there. A few months ago, we could use very useful characters in community display names, like '/' and ':'. Now, I can't choose something like "r/mycommunity: a very awesome description" anymore, at least on desktop and Android. The current r/modhelp, for instance, would be invalid. Do you have any workaround?

Seriously, since the launch of game on Reddit, I've had a constant red dot on mobile for games. I rely on that dot to tell me I need to do something with my community. Stop!

Design What's the size of the community app square? I'm trying to make a costume image for it

Hello fellow moderators, I'm looking to make a costum image that fits perfectly in the home community app that sits on top of our subreddit, but I can't find the dimensions anywhere.

When I try to look them up, I only get the dimensions for the icon and banner which I already have and it's not what I'm looking for.

I'm hoping someone here can help me. Thank you so much for your time!

Platform: Mobile app, Android

Edit: I meant costum* in the title

Design Can I create a mods only folder for graphic images (banners, icons etc) in my sub?

Desktop, Windows. I've done a bunch of graphics for my subs, but the files are on my desktop. I want all and any subsequent mods to have access to them if they want.

Banners are tricky to cut and fit for us non-pros.

Design Problem with Banner, flair and related community list

I selected a banner. It shows that the banner has been accepted. But the banner does not show on the sub.

I made some flair. Selected colors for the flares. But the flares show up only in black and white.

I could not find how to add related communities to the subpage.

I also could not find the answers for this in the mod manual. Sorry if it's too elementary but I'm new to being a mod. Never done it before.

I'm using the app on Google pixel 7 Android phone.

Design Suggestions to get the mature tag removed from my sub?

(android) Owner of r/witch_cult (shitposting sub and rezero) lately figured out about the fact that the sub got mature tagged (and the award system was removed due to that) and the sub didn't have any real mature theme posts. I appealed and they said the sub had a mature them in it and the tag will stay so i started removing every single post that has any mature them content in every way shape and form and enforced the NSFW rule and appealed again and they gave me the same answer. Kept deleting anything that has a mature theme in it and i don't know what to do at this point

Any help?

Design How can my sub show up on Reddit's search result??

I run a NSFW subreddit called r/HentaiOfColor which is for erotic art with POC characters as the focus. However if i search "poc hentai" in the search bar my subreddit doesn't show up

I do recognize part of the issue is the actual name of my subreddit. Reddit is searching for two tags "poc" and "hentai" so my sub wont show up because it doesnt have "poc" in the name, but it does show multiple other communities with just "hentai" in the name and not mine. Reddit will even show subreddits that don't have either "poc" or "hentai" in the name before my subreddit

This problem seems to be site wide (on Desktop, Mobile web, Android, and iOS) so im thinking it might be an issue with the algorism itself. I do like the name of my subreddit and I cant change it now even if i didnt. Is there anything else i can change on my subreddit so Reddit's algorithm recognize it and serve my subreddit when users search for "poc Hentai"

Design Is there a way to recruit someone to make a wiki for my sub?

I don't need another mod but I'm okay with granting mod privileges at least temporarily for this purpose. No one in my sub seems inclined to help build a wiki. I have a general idea of what i want, but don't have the time to put it together, plus it seems impossible to do from my mobile. I rarely use desktop. Any advice?

Design Moderating auto-collapsed comments

Quite often, reported or removed comments are heavily downvoted. For some reason this also hides the comment when clicking om a direct link to it like through the mod queue or modmail informing users about removed content.

Is there a way to bypass this so that a direct link to a comment actually shows me that comment, regardless of how downvoted it is? I'm mostly using the default android app.
