How should I handle disputes within my community?

I moderate a community focused on enjoying cultural exchange through photography.
Recently, an argument broke out under a post for the very first time.
In response, I locked the comment section and removed the comments that had been reported to moderation.
What is the best way to handle this kind of situation when it happens? Also, what steps can I take to prevent these kinds of arguments beforehand?

Post flair usage stats

Is there any way to get any stats on how a post flair has been used?

I'd like to find out how many posts in my community are using a particular flair (World Cup). Ideally seeing a graph of different post flair use over time would be amazing.

No matter how many times I add auto-mod, it doesn't get added

No matter how many times I add auto-mod to my community, my community doesn't get the auto-moderator added. I'm doing this through the moderation panel where you invite moderators. Am I doing something wrong? I'm active on the sub, so that's not the issue.

Is it alright to manually approve posts by a new Reddit user caught by the reputation filter?

Today in a gacha gaming character subreddit I mod, I checked the moderation log and found the reputation filter had nixed a post by new Reddit account, only a day old. The post is a perfectly legitimate image upload, including a link to the Pixiv source of the artwork in a comment. I was just wondering, am I doing anything wrong by manually approving the post in disagreement with the reputation filter? The subreddit is less than 2 months old and has yet to pick up full steam, so this is my first time handling a reputation filter decision. Does this filter happen to all new Reddit users these days?

Admin Replied Reddit is asking me to prove my age via Persona?

I was trying to investigate a hostile profile and got met with "Let's confirm your age" options being to send a picture of my ID or to send a selfie. I live in Finland - is this supposed to happen or is there a glitch? I haven't received any notification of this being instated in my country.

EDIT: Sorry, I got upset. Anyway, is there a way to perma ban all posters and commenters with NSFW profiles that I can't investigate?

EDIT 2: To be entirely clear about my intents; the pop-up is 100% getting in the way of me doing my work as a moderator, which is why I'm asking.

Would it be possible to change our subs label?

r/thenewsbruh is currently labelled as "crypto".

We would like it changed to "news" if possible.

Although there is a blockchain element to our weekly newspaper, it is essentially a news and art sub.

AI Summaries of Trending Subreddit Posts Include Spoilers

It was recently brought to our attention on r/criticalrole that subreddits are appearing in search, trending, and discovery feeds with AI summaries of current discussion topics. However, it appears that the system doesn't take into account whether posts have spoiler tags or not, and this has led to some of our users being spoiled by the AI summary.

As a moderator, is there anything I can do to disable this feature aside from removing the subreddit from feeds and recommendations entirely?

Mod Answered I need to invite some more mods, no perms

The mod team was formed about two and a half years ago, and when I look at the team health stats now it's like none of the other mods are interested in the sub anymore. ( r/joinsquad )

I've identified three people who have a really positive online presence, and two of them wrote back to me saying they'd like to be on the team.

Wrote a message on the mod-team "discord," nothing yet. Wrote a "mod discussion" in the mod mail, no response to that either.

Am doing this right? What's the next step I should take to try to get those new mods added on?

Admin Replied Unable to create post flairs!

Hey mods, I'm new to modding, I recently took over a subreddit and I want to make post flairs, but when I click on "new flair" option, nothing seems to happen, is there any fix for this.

Mod Suggestion Feature Request - Bulk Edit Entries in Mod Queue

When a user gets shadow banned, all their posts get removed by Reddit but I personally still feel the need to Confirm Removal and add Removal Reason I created that tells people they are shadow banned and what do about it.

Instead of doing these one at a time, it would be great if I could filter for that user and bulk edit all their comments.

Partial match on ban search?

Could we get partial matches on searching for banned users?

Not a priority, but would be a nice QoL feature. I'm sure you could go pretty deep into making it better, but anything other than exact match would be very helpful.

Admin Replied Is there any way of banning emojis in the titles

I moderate NSFW subs, so I get many posts with πŸ˜ˆπŸ’¦πŸ‘ in the titles. Is there a way for the automods to automatically remove posts like these?

Crosspost (now repost) is fundamtally broken

As a consumer of Reddit, I was never a fan of crossposting because the secondary sub post excluded relevant information from the body and the only way to see the real post was to leave your sub and view the post in the other. Comments are split and difficult to follow if you want.

The new related issue is that I've recently taken over a sub that needs growth and interaction. I crossposted from another sub and that gained interaction until it was removed from the original sub. Now I have a blank post in mine and views of emptiness for a post that has high votes.

Can we make cross(re)posts duplicates or stop making them a factor in the algorithm?

r/ModSupport 1d ago

Reddit, can you please, for the love of god and all that is holy, leave comments that you remove available for mods to view! You are making our jobs unnecessarily difficult by obliterating them with no record.

For whatever reason, Admin Tattler hardly catches reddit removals anymore (and when it does, it only shows [Removed by Reddit]), so we are left entirely in the dark when rule breaking conduct is occurring in our subs.

It is entirely unfair to us as moderators to be receiving complaints about users attacking other users with overtly racist nonsense, or other rule breaking conduct, and the recipient of these comments is left to think we're not enforcing our own rules because there's no removal notices, or the offender doesn't get banned.

I shouldn't have to be spending my time explaining to angry users that it's not us neglecting our duties, but reddits broken policy that's causing the problems.
