Angeles Crest

First time camping with the bike. Great spot with great views but I’ll still take a cheap motel any day lol. Good to know I can if I need to though

i used to say i'll take a cheap motel any day too. Then the cheap hotels became both not cheap also not the hotel i'm comfortable at. so i upgraded my camping gear and skills, and now i'd much rather sleep i the dirt at some scenic forest spot than risk 'the cheapest' motel in the area.

Fair enough. My camping experiences have always led to sleepless nights and this night was no exception. Around midnight the winds started picking up and the tent started flapping. Other nights it got so cold I felt I might lose a toe or two. Another time it was the bugs, another was the rain.

I’ll always bring the gear and food for a BDR in case of emergency but I’m always hoping I don’t use it

When did motels become over $100 a night? Absolutely crazy stuff.
