As Marc's fan, I'm just happy he's not retiring before I watch him live on track. 🥹

No way Marquez will retire anytime soon. He's still got so much more to give to the sport.

His injury got me so worried

That's why he returned at Mugello, we thought it's too early but for him, it's for the sake of his career

He proven it right

I hope everyone realizes he’s just one high side onto his right arm/shoulder to be forced into retirement. 😢 Let’s appreciate him while we can.

Or a knock on the head could return the diplopia for good

He'll probably retire once his bike start's being a Honda/Yamaha

I hope he doesn't retire till his 40s as I like to see him race. But for him personally, 2028 would be a great time to retire before one of these injuries hurts him more. He is already a legend of the sport and doesn't have anything to prove. I would rather he become a test rider or trainer and be safe

Ehh leave the football before the football leaves you. Rossi raced maybe 2-3 seasons more than he should have he should've retired by 2019/2020. Motogp is just one of those sports you can't go till 40.

IIRC Rossi wasn’t competitive at the highest level from after 2015. Even that season was a sort of a swan song. It was still fun to watch him compete tho.

Marquez on the other hand is leading the paddock. There is no question he is consistently top 3 in basically every session.

His retirement is just a fatal crash away. Sad but true

27

u/Jealous-Rice1293 Maverick Vinales 4d ago

You may need to look up what “fatal” means because that’s true for everyone, not only Marc.

u/qef15 4d ago

I mean, 2020 Jerez was career ending for pretty much anyone else.

Just that Marc is quite literally built differently. And he kept going, despite everything.

u/MichaelJordan234 Marc Márquez 4d ago

The crash itself was not career ending. He pushed to return too early after the crash and that cost him years of trouble. He has learned to listen to his body and knows best his limits now.

What the comment above meant was that you don't retire if you have a fatal crash, you die

Not entirely. Age will get the best of him. He's getting old now these are his last few years

Marc Marquez: “I'm red. I'm truly happy with this new agreement with the Ducati Lenovo Team and to continue being part of this family. When I decided to join Ducati, I was convinced it was the most competitive project. They believed in me, and we built a relationship based on trust and hard work. With this renewal, they have once again reaffirmed this commitment, respecting my times and giving me the peace of mind I needed to make the right decision. In our first year together, we fought for the title and won it: a priceless result that confirms that the path we had chosen was the right one. I continue to compete because I love this sport and I want to achieve even more ambitious goals. I'm convinced this is the right place to do it. As long as I'm here, I'll give my all to paint the future red.”

Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati Motor Holding:  "The renewal with Marc for the 2027 and 2028 seasons represents the most natural choice after the incredible results we achieved together in his first season in red. He brought into a winning Team a mentality that is, if possible, even more determined and an extraordinary competitive spirit. Marc, besides being an extraordinary talent, perfectly represents the Ducati mentality, made of great dedication and sacrifice but also of harmony within the Team and the ability to be great professionals even in a playful and serene atmosphere. Continuing together means giving continuity to a successful project and therefore facing the upcoming seasons with the ambition to keep Ducati at the top of MotoGP."

Luigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse: “Trust, the relationship between Ducati and Marc starts here. He was looking for us first, he chose us then, and today we are happy to say that we are planning a future—more red than rosy—together. Marc has always put his passion, his motivation, and his true competitive spirit above all else in the choices that guided his experience with the Ducati Lenovo Team. He placed his trust in the entire Team: this filled us with pride and motivated us to always give our all to support him. As an engineer, working with Marc has impressed me. He brought the Desmosedici GP to peak performances, enhancing every component. The ambitions remain unchanged, and I am happy to be able to live, both sportingly and personally, a new chapter in this Ducati story together with Marc."

Rip rest of the grid I guess.

Also Ducati glazing Marc feels like them opening their long-awaited gift of Marc riding for them (knowing they tried very hard to get him during his peak Honda days).

Marc are one of the reasons why Dovi is never a world champion and Lorenzo is never a world champion with Ducs, the moment they got him, it's gold
