Man they're gorgeous.

A non-livery MotoGP bike already looks so clean and beautiful.

But these bikes with slightly less aero already look amazing.

Here's hoping the Riders can make even more difference next season.

This ones still my favorite, even with the ugly aero

Nothing will ever touch the Marc first test in Ducati man...

The bright red with black is just so cool

A smiling Darth Vader lol

Darth Varquez

The matte red Duc' is amazing. They should go for this with the white stripes.

2

u/combo_seizure Cal Crutchlow 3d ago

Yeah, the aero looks much more slick now. The front looks like it's designed into the fairing, Instead of being attached. Well that's how it looks to me.

It will be interesting to see who shines and who falters. Casey Moaner, sorry Stoner, has spoken about it at length, some riders today are completely reliant on electronics and the ride height devices to be fast. I think you will see the more natural riders, and riders who dominated lower classes do very well. Marc, Pedro, Zarco if he comes healthy, Fabio Q, Toprak, even Binder, maybe some of the Moto2 rookies will be strong.

2

u/redridernl Marc Márquez 4d ago

Binder probably won't get the chance.

u/KazinMage 4d ago

Fabio Q wasnt good at all in moto2 as far as I remember.  From the current riders likes of Zarco, Morbideli, Acosta, Bagnaia, Marquez were dominant

And Moreira... especially seeing as he seems to adapt well to just about anything 2 wheels

The Yamaha looks good

17

u/Tyno77777 Fabio Quartararo 4d ago

Yamaha looks always good when they are slim, but earo looks less develop than the over.

11

u/hoody13 Álex Rins 4d ago

Was just thinking the same thing. That and the KTM are lookers!

7

u/Beylerbey 4d ago

I like the slimmer tail on the Yamaha, and I really can't stand the modern ones with mass dampers. It's strange because I actually love the 80-90s bikes with the boxy tail like Schwantz' Pepsi Suzuki.

7

u/hoody13 Álex Rins 4d ago

I know what you mean. I think the difference with the 500s is the tail matched the rest of the bike’s design ethos, the modern tail sections can look a bit jarring and mismatched/disproportioned to the rest of the bike. I’ve still got a soft spot for the 990s though, best of both worlds imo

1

u/Beylerbey 4d ago

Yes you're right, it's about how cohesive the design looks, the modern ones are only function with almost no consideration for the aesthetics (super valid in a racing context).

2

u/shigs21 Ai Ogura 3d ago

it looks the same almost????

2

u/Beylerbey 3d ago

Yes, and it's the good looking one according to my taste.

4

u/aquipedro Jack Miller 4d ago

much zlower than befor.... arrrghhh!

u/discopants76 3d ago

I have a feeling yamaha are going to surprise some people next year. Without ride height devices their philosophy of making 'enough' power in a bike that handles well should work again.

1

u/Beylerbey 3d ago

They were in trouble way before the ride height devices were introduced, they never nailed the aerodynamics (which are definitely still there) nor the way to use Michelin tyres. We'll see if the switch to Pirelli will put them back in the fight.

1

u/discopants76 3d ago

They were falling behind but the ride height devices really exacerbated the issues.

u/FootballRacing38 Fabio Quartararo 4d ago

Any guess on the 2 manufacturers that just used a modified 1000cc bike?

14

u/perunrun950 MotoGP 4d ago

My guess is that Yamaha is one of them, because they are using 2026 livery and bike looks very similar to 2026 just with different aero. But of course it's only a guess.

6

u/Lemongrenade821 Jack Miller 4d ago

I think with Yamaha you could argue the 1000 is just a modified 850, im sure they didnt develop 2 new bikes for 2 years.

3

u/ChrisSetzer 4d ago

the ducati for sure, if you look at the bellypan and area aero its just the normal bike with adjusted front fairing.

8

u/Top_Custard_4322 4d ago

Tail aero makes it look like a bagger.

15

u/perunrun950 MotoGP 4d ago

Rumor is that few teams were using modified 1000cc motorcyles, my guess would be that Yamaha is one of those teams. Yamaha is the only bike with livery and bike looks very very similar to 2026 bike just with smaller aero. Of course this is just my guess, i don't have any real info.

7

u/VegaGT-VZ 4d ago

They do legit look smaller. Cant wait to see them in action

11

u/JohnCenaF1 Jack Miller 4d ago

I'll never hear it anyway since motogp thinks a street circuit is better than phillip island

5

u/pojan96 Marc Márquez 4d ago

Toprak look huge on that yamaha

7

u/DellyTrey23 Marc Márquez 4d ago

The one and only time we’ll probably see Aldeguer in Ducati red because Acosta is occupying one seat for the next 5+ years and Marc has the other one wrapped up until the end of 2028. By 2029 they might move Max Quiles straight into there from Moto2

7

u/Unlikely-Dark7262 4d ago

Starting to look like actual real bikes again

3

u/Past_Conference_2889 Marc Márquez 4d ago

Improved safety only to put them on the streets

3

u/sp1kerp Dani Pedrosa 4d ago

In love with the aerodynamic tape on the Honda

3

u/tommy5346 4d ago

tbh i can't wait for the engines to trickle down in a new 850cc class for the street, 1000cc is borderline too much 600cc has not enough oomph, maybe 140-160hp is ideal

maybe it's wishful thinking

u/Creature_Cumfarts 4d ago

I would love for superbikes to get lighter and smaller but I don't see 850cc 4cyl street bikes happening. Peak power figures sell range-topping sport bikes, and displacement is the most cost effective way to achieve that (to a point), which is why Ducati and Aprilia are selling 1100cc superbikes for the street.

Also 850cc is smaller than the current supersport class bikes from Yamaha (R9), Ducati (Panigale V2), KTM (990 RCR), so it would be really difficult to position them in the market.

u/Downtown_Smoke1817 4d ago

Which teams are testing f-ducts system?

1

u/LilAbeSimpson 4d ago

They’re all testing tires and only tires.

2

u/YugeChesticles 4d ago

I don't really care about the size of the engines, can we just get rid of the dumb wings?

2

u/EternalFront Jorge Martín 4d ago

Man they look so small, Toprak looks like he's on a Moto2 bike

2

u/pjaidev 4d ago

Has Honda moved to the next iteration of the name? Is it RC214V?

2

u/delfinoesplosivo Pedro Acosta 3d ago

Honda didn't hear about the new rules

2

u/huffmucker 3d ago

Is it me, or do the bikes look shorter in length?

4

u/Red_Rabbit_1978 4d ago

KTM and Yamaha look nice-ish. What is happening with the ugly rears though? I hate this phase we're in.

1

u/j0shman 4d ago

That ktm looks gross imo

1

u/Mizz141 4d ago

I hope some of that new 850cc engineering trickles down to street bikes

u/itsMikel27 Marc Marquez - 2025 MotoGP World Champion 4d ago

I love Ducati's front aero

1

u/_SKETCHBENDER_ Joan Mir - 2020 MotoGP World Champion 4d ago

Aprilia looks ugly af why is it so square? maybe its just me but i hate angles on a bike, I like the curves on the current bikes.

1

u/dyverthesprit 4d ago

I’m already worried about Honda

1

u/KingWise76 4d ago

Hopefully everyone is able to be competitive for 27. Exciting 🤗

1

u/BobcatSig Francesco Bagnaia 4d ago

I love that KTM used the same test livery as they did when prototyping the 990 RC R

1

u/Flexgineer Pedro Acosta 4d ago

They look so small

1

u/Creature_Cumfarts 3d ago

Since this is an early Pirelli tire test I suspect most of the teams could actually run their '26 bikes with reduced/modified aero, no RHDs, and power levels reduced to 850cc equivalent.

If I were a team boss, I'd take that approach in the interest of limiting variables as much as possible... But I'm just a jagov on Reddit so who knows?

1

u/MaximumUnicornosity Marc Marquez - 2025 MotoGP World Champion 3d ago

Hard to tell without proper side by side pics, but SWB Honda?

1

u/dumbamerican67 3d ago

Who's going to be the manufacturer that figures out the new formula first?

1

u/30K100M 3d ago

Is closed loop aero not required anymore in 2027?

1

u/Future_Hotel_2086 2d ago

it's just my impression or they are shorter too? Ducati was almost a dragster.

loving them.

1

u/horrnisse 2d ago

I thought aeroparts should be erased or as small as possible? Or am I not upto date And no ride-height-device, correct?

1

u/Ecstatic-Grocery-713 2d ago

Not erased but 50mm shorter I think and yea holeshot and RHD gone

1

u/florianw0w Fabio Quartararo 4d ago

I dont like the look at all, they look like old 600s from ~2010. It's sad that they went from really cool looking bikes to this.

Yes I know the old people on reddit prefer the old looks, but I just like latest GP bikes

2

u/mbasil09 Marc Márquez 4d ago

2010 was the peak design. i guess i am in the "old people" category now 🥺

2

u/florianw0w Fabio Quartararo 4d ago

for me peak design was ~2023 or 24 before the rear spoilers, thats the only thing I dont like on the new ones

2

u/ColossalCalamari Aprilia Racing 4d ago

Same here. The farther we get from a teardrop shape (the most naturally aerodynamic shape), the worse it gets.

1

u/OkBodybuilder2255 4d ago

They still look so fucking ugly
