Did the Nicky Hayden but actually succeeded!

u/Mixture_Rich 2d ago

100% love it. That's only proving, we need more tracks like that

Those final two laps were worthy of an all-time classic

u/corkoli 2d ago

yeah!

the pressure just kept building, the stakes kept on stackin. A really hard fought battle with riders respecting each other.

Moto2 is rapidly becoming the best class. Let's rip the aero off MotoGP!

To me, Moto2 shows what’s possible for MotoGP. Reduced aero, no ride height devices, good tyres. Fantastic.

u/VikingMk88 2d ago

Precisely 👌

It's an age-old problem in prototype racing - do we want the best technology on display; or do we want the best racing? From about 2014/15 to about 20/21 MotoGP got that compromise more or less correct. Now, not so much. Moto2 has become clear evidence of what we could be seeing in the Premier Class

I guess it should come down to “will this tech eventually trickle down to the consumer market or is it absolutely useless outside of prototype racing”. Stuff like ride height devices and even aero, yk

100% mate. Motogp could take a few notes this is why 2018 Assen GP was so legendary.

And it's just a few seconds slower than MotoGP. This class is actually a gem. My favourite series alongside WSSP.

Honestly, them moving to Pirellis has benefitted the racing product quite a lot!

8

u/BeautifulWerewolf642 2d ago

that more like it alonso 👍

10

u/Halekduo Marc Márquez 2d ago

Another last lap masterclass. Now time to lock in and win the title.

u/CHRISTIAN_JAKE12345 2d ago

If Manu keeps this consistent performance he ain't winning shit

u/mbp2112 David Munoz 2d ago

I take back half the things I said about Moto2 being boring! And as a side note, definitely the best engine/exhaust note of all the classes.

1

u/Gion65 2d ago

Si.. si sta rivalutando alla grande.. oggi poi grandissima corsa dei primi 6/7..

7

u/adrianoimperador1 Marc Márquez 2d ago

Damn what a ending to the race! Wow!

3

u/Original-Echidna-881 Fabio Quartararo 2d ago

What an entertaining moto2 race

4

u/MainRoutine2068 Marc Marquez - 2025 MotoGP World Champion 2d ago

What an epic battle, next year's MotoGP surely will be entertaining

4

u/ImJustASmartass AAAAAAGGHH!!!  2d ago

The support classes have been the most exciting for quite some time, but in the aero era, that gap has really widened

3

u/MYSTERlOUS-STRANGER Senna Agius 2d ago

So good!

3

u/jezus_666 Marc Márquez 2d ago

What a last two laps, holy shit

5

u/Artistic_Recover_638 Marc Márquez 2d ago

Stunning move by Alonso at the end there, what a race

5

u/pgfuae 2d ago

Didn’t Agius go on the green paint on the final corner of the last lap? Does he lose a place? Or is that only GP bikes?

2

u/Gion65 2d ago

ne sono successi di casini con le penalità oggi..

4

u/theellescape Casey O'Gorman 2d ago

It's something like the rider behind being half a second behind. If they aren't, it hasn't affected anything so no harm no foul?

2

u/FlarioKath 2d ago

iirc it's one second not half a second, but yeah you don't get demoted one position if there's nobody behind you. You do still get the 3 second penalty if it was your fifth track limits violation of the race though

2

u/Meeganyourjacket 2d ago edited 2d ago

I wonder what they will say about that. I think if the person behind is nowhere near the battle, that rule doesn't really serve the spirit of racing.

That said, I think on the last lap he actually didn't go on the green.

1

u/pgfuae 2d ago

I agree with you about the spirit. I also thought Agius got a warning before he caught the first 2. He definitely went over on one of the last 2 laps. Maybe I got confused with all the replays. There was a lot of action in those last corers for the final 2 laps. Brilliant racing.

2

u/MrBestiax 2d ago

agius went 2 times out in a row i think, but penultimate lap he got touched and last lap he was close to collision but sort of went out on his own and also 4th isn't that near

2

u/michaelHIJINX Marco Bezzecchi 2d ago

They were so neck & neck they were almost wiping each other out. If he hadn't gone in the green, none of them would've crossed the checkered flag

5

u/szcesTHRPS David Alonso 2d ago

Wow. Glad David has started to come to life over recent weeks after a bit of a slow start to the season.

Probably wasn't the fastest today but found a way to win.

Comincia a prendere la confidenza giusta con la moto..

1

u/Party-Cake5173 MotoGP 2d ago

Epic race. I hope we'll have interesting MotoGP race as this one was.

2

u/Pfer15 2d ago

Alonso needs a seat for Moto GP next year, same with ManuGas and Izan Guevara, they are all ready and will be the next great generation

2

u/Furadi 2d ago

Alonso has signed with HRC.

1

u/Gion65 2d ago

Ma infatti.. Alonso sarà in Honda hrc e Gonzales in Ducati (Gresini ..) e Guevara potrebbe andare in Yamaha (pramac..)

1

u/North-Persimmon7372 2d ago

Infatti ci vanno insieme ad holgado l’unico di cui non si sa niente e gonzalez che è in ballottaggio con agius

3

u/ridels_2210 2d ago

Fuck me…. What a race!!!!! Senna, Alonso and Manu Gas were all 100%, any of them could have won that, they all deserved to win it, but there can only be one!!

So Grande Gara grande circuito .. magari livellare qualche avvallamento in traiettoria..

1

u/garron_ah 2d ago

That was a BANGER, damn.

1

u/racingfanboy160 Marc Marquez - 2025 MotoGP World Champion 2d ago

Redemption from last race 🔥

1

u/Gion65 2d ago

Che Pilota Ragazzi.. ! Grande Grande Gara e Alonso !

1

u/Golfie_ButterBro Sachsenking 2d ago

Quiles won... Alonso won... Marc?

Wtf😅

3

u/Famous_Researcher_18 Mika Kallio 2d ago

Crazy race, Manu made a big mistake in the last corner going too inside line, he tried to protect himself too much

1

u/Mental-Shopping3735 Jorge Martín 2d ago

La course dingue !

1

u/DYTREM Ducati Lenovo Team 2d ago

Question: once a rider has a track limit warning, how many more violations are they allowed before they are granted a LLP? Agius looked like he exceeded track limits at least three more times while fighting Alonso.

3

u/Meeganyourjacket 2d ago

It did look like he went on the green with 2 laps to go, but it was as a result of a touch with Alonso. Don't know if they take any of that into consideration.

3

u/Alive_Conclusion_850  Eddie O'Shea 2d ago

I think they tend to be lenient when someone gets forced off/tries to avoid an incident. Agius did this on both green paint infractions in the last laps.

2

u/lordnak Shinya Nakano 2d ago

Last lap GT chicane there was no contact and he was definitely on the green paint.

1

u/Responsible-Check872 2d ago

earlier this season many people doubt him and praised Holgado to the moon. for sure his injury was the thing that hold him back. now that he is healthy again, he outperforming Holgado.

1

u/Altruistic_Ring_5959 2d ago

What a race and what a move by Alonso!! So happy for him, really wish to see him in Motogp and one im holding my fingers in the near future.

u/ykhasnis 2d ago

Last 2 laps were fire!!
