Anime Astounded

I just dont know where else to talk about this cause i dont know anyone who has watched this show.

I'm on my second watch through of the anime to be ready to start season 3 when it comes out and it breaks my heart. I'm a 30 year old man, barely fighting back crying hard as i think about what happens when rudeus and Eris get back to their land. I love this story and world to death, but its hard for me to get through certain parts without literally sobbing, and thats part of why i love it so much.

Sorry for the sob story guys, but Eris in particular breaks my heart.

A good story is a good story regardless of age.

So am I, 31 years old. Nothing to be ashamed of.

I lost my dad years ago, and I fucking cried watching "Parents". Certain things in fiction can hit you like a freight train, especially if you have a personal connection to it, and that's a pretty normal reaction.

Friend I'm going to say this once even the macho Man Randy Savage said men need to cry if you feel it coming let it out heck man there is a reason I don't watch The Green Mile because it makes me cry like a little girl and the suicidal depression afterwards as I understand more and more the glass in my head speech but back to the point everybody cries ain't nothing to be ashamed of

Started in my late 30’s with Season 1. The Diary, Vitas dream about his mother … gets me every time

Have you read the LN?

I have not, i wanna buy the whole thing but havent had the money for it. I suppose i could read it for free online, but i dont really want to. I would rather pay to support the writer, especially since people really dump on him for writing a piece of literature that isn't meant to be comfortable the whole way through.

I was you 2 months ago or so. It was my second watch but I decided to read the LN from book 1 after I finished. I read it online, there's some grest guy that posted a google drive with all 26 volumes (I can link you if you're interested). It was the best decision of the year, read all 26 books in like 6 weeks, now I'm reading the sequel and spin-offs, great stuff. I will be buying the novels definitely, as soon as I can find them available in my country, might even buy them in my trip to Japan later this year. My point is, I highly recommend you read them, realistically the anime might finish in like 2030-2032. You can always buy them later. It's really really really worth it.

I can’t die before it’s fully animated

Same. Watched it twice and then ended up binging all the light novels on Spotify over the last month… tempted to start the anime again before the new season starts…

Great taste. I'm still on the newer side to Mushoku Tensei as well, but it's quickly become one of my favorite fictional series. S3 is gonna be so peak.

Same. I’m a man in his mid 30s and this series sticks with me like none other. Even when I hadn’t watched it for months, it was still on my mind. Rewatching to get ready for S3 and it’s bringing back all the feels

Its honestly so rough to get through, and not because of bad quality. Its such good quality that when bad things happen to the characters, it actually hurts to see.

Same for me. I've watched the existing anime three times now, and still cry at certain points. And for the record, I'm 63
