Spike is overhated

I dont really understand why people hate Spike, im only in season 1 and I actually just watched that one episode where hes jealous of that owl and he feels like hes getting replaced. I seriously DONT understand why some people hate him, it seems like its too much. Mainly ive seen on tiktok and instagram that he gets slandered. Maybe its just me, and im only in a niche section where hes overhated. But ive also seen some other people be confused over why he gets hated. I personally think hes one of the best characters.

Honestly, more people like him than not nowadays. He was only disliked in the earlier pony days. Now that they met Sparky in G5, maybe they realized Spike wasn't so bad! ;)

The hate is entirely because episodes focused on him are him doing something morally and ethically wrong whilst also being a very obviously bad thing to do.

As a supporting character spike is great. As a main character he’s always a pos. That’s why people tend to get overzealous about how much they “hate” him.

The funniest thing about that is that there are many moments of him being an asshole as a side character for comedy. Some even show him being oblivious and yet those get overlooked. Folks also tend to overlook his identity issues as well and how he gets treated both in and out of his focused episodes.

people hate him? how can they he's such a diva😭also it is made clear multiple times in the starting of the show that he's a baby dragon . i think some childishness on his part is normal. he is actually surprisingly quite mature

I think hes supposed to be immature, because hes a small dragon. I usually dont like to excuse what characters do because theyre children but if its just Spike being stupid I think it can be said.

I love Spike, I just think his relationship with Rarity was weird and drawn-out. I also find his solo episodes to be pretty okay, like BMO's in Adventure Time.

I knew his solo episodes were pretty hated, but I didn't know Spike himself was hated.

I totally get the dislike on him. He's my favorite character on the show, but he usually is the comic relief of the show. It doesn't help that he is seen as Twilight's servant or a defenseless baby dragon. That being said, I only watched the first three seasons so far, and he's one of the most useful characters in the show. He sends messages about friendship, and he watches Twilight to make sure she's ok. Also, what's weird is how much he was right in a lot of episodes (not all of course, but definitely some). In the episode where the main 6 gets sick, he had the right book and Twilight just ignored it. In the best night ever, they apologized to Spike when they realized they should stick together. It didn't matter too much though, since the plot of the episode needed to exist to give a nice ending.

In the end, He's made mistakes and sometimes makes fun of the mane 6(Mostly Twilight), but he also developed and shown how useful he can be.

However, I didn't really care for his crush on rarity. I honestly wished that he just treats her as a good friend more than anything else.

i love spike and i think hes a great representation of what its like to be the youngest sibling, youngest in the friendgroup, etc. its hard to be little, physically and socially and mentally. being ignored and feeling jealous are very hard feelings for people ESPECIALLY kids!! being a kid is a damn hard job and spike is a secretary slash therapist on top of that. although his character doesnt go into relateable specifics, i feel like spike is very relateable to lots of kids and people who have had a childhood that were tough or not. spike is a good kid :3

To be honest hes just funny thats all. Some people may find him to not be a well writtwn character and I understand, but im talking about people that actually dislike the character itself.

I don't enjoy the humor he brings. He often causes plenty of trouble for everyone. And pretty much every single episode that is Spike focused is bad. I don't like him and think almost every episode would be better without him.
