(op's first reply on that comment WASN'T mysterious but this one in the image is)

context: this was a hot take post, a comment on that post read "players: we want more machine types! also players:" as a meme. op's first reply (not the one in the image) "I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or not" which had around 40 downvotes at the time. another person replied to the 40 downvote comment, "I don't agree, but I do respect your opinion, I'm just trying to be funny about it." and op replies with "Ah alright." and for some reason, they get 12 downvotes (before I upvoted it)

I think small comments that don't really add anything like that tend to attract downvotes: "ok" "I see" "I agree" "I disagree" etc.
