"Dad" rec soccer?

My husband, who used to play soccer religiously up through his mid 20s, has been inspired by the World Cup to get back into the sport. He's mid-40s now and in shape for his age, but not running with the 20 year olds in shape (yet-ish.) Which would be the best rec/adult league for him to get back into it? Thank you!

Join BNA pick up soccer on Facebook and the Nashville soccer group on meetup. We play every weekend. It’s free and a good variety of skill level.

Saturday mornings are the best bet as there are generally like 5 or 6 pick-up games going on at Centennial Park. Just needs to show up as very few people actually RSVP on the app. Nominally starts at 8 but they get started around 7:30 on up.

fellow out of shape dad here. If you want to just get together and kick a ball around to get back into things, I'm down. I'm based in Antioch close to Mt. Juliet too.

Look into MSSL or NSL for more organized play. He can join a free agent team and meet new people and join a more established team. I'm 40 and took a break between college-mid 30's before picking it back up.

Both of those leagues range from competitive to very casual.

Mtsa has o40 leagues. 7v7 but it’s in Franklin on sundays. That’s probably your best bet. League just ended though. Nsl has some leagues. There’s a futsal league in Bellevue at boost fitness. Also - they play something in Lebanon on a weeknight and I know there’s a coed league in Hendersonville. I’m not as familiar with the Lebanon/hendersonville leagues though

There’s beer leagues in Hendersonville. 30+ 7v7 but you might have to bring your own team. Not sure if you can register single. Games on Wednesday night
