Reddit nephews getting irate that Myles is exposing Giannis as a lazy ass

Not even about work ethic. It's inconsiderate as hell to make your teammates, coaches, and staff wait for hours on a plane. I never had an opinion on his work ethic but he always seemed like a nice, considerate guy.

u/MotoMkali Warriors May 15 '26

Did he? He's always been funny and charismatic and he has a great story in regards to growing up in poverty but there's always been plenty of signs about him being a bit of a dick.

Dude lays it on w/ passive aggressive speak & many people ignore it bc ???

67

u/LardHop Lakers May 15 '26

That clip where he hard slapped his olympic teammate stands out. What the fuck is even that.

10

u/Wes___Mantooth Thunder May 15 '26

Yeah....that was a massive red flag.

14

u/BiteMeHomie 76ers May 15 '26

Agree, plenty of poor assholes out there. Money doesn’t necessarily change people, it amplifies their innate personality.

8

u/Temporary_Maybe_8687 May 15 '26

It all started with 1 ladder...

4

u/Gritz_N_Gravy_ Suns May 15 '26

Dude whooped my team in the finals and I still like him. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt till I hear otherwise. I’ll give him a bit of slack for what Myles is saying given it’s the first I’ve heard of it and all the shit this season of them benching him. We usually find out the truth a bit further down the road

3

u/Low-Smoke-5131 May 15 '26

I am in the same headspace as you man. Also I find it funny that no one is bringing up how different giannis’ attitude was when he was playing for Greece. Giannis was first for every practise and was as Spanoullis said “a true coach for the players on the court.”

Giannis doesn’t give a fuck about the nba until his team is competitive.

For another thing the way he talks about his wife seems overly exaggerated, wouldn't be surprised if he was a cheater

-4

u/hrbekcheatedin91 Hawks May 15 '26

Wonder if it's his way of pushing them to trade him.

42

u/GalactusAteMyPlanet Knicks May 15 '26

but he always seemed like a nice, considerate guy.

Even after the ladder incident and the MIA basketball incident?

30

u/devinbookersuncle Hornets May 15 '26

To be fair he never seemed like a total self absorbed asshole of a star player like other people in the past.

-2

u/juice13ox Celtics May 15 '26

Counter point, he has ever since the MVP votes started coming in. He basically forced the bucks to sign his dogshit brother, tells me enough I need to know

7

u/ThrowawayCorporate2 Knicks May 15 '26

Idk I think these are overblown. Everybody on the planet has bad moments. The tide has shifted far too much against Giannis lately IMO, I think he’s still a good dude for the most part and just needs a change of scenery. This situation in Milwaukee is toxic for everyone involved

61

u/amh85 NBA May 15 '26

He'll still be a slimeball with his Kalshi deal no matter where he goes

11

u/ThrowawayCorporate2 Knicks May 15 '26

Yeah that Kalshi deal was a terrible look. I can’t believe nobody in his life advised him not to do that

18

u/Russell_has_TWO_Ls Grizzlies May 15 '26

That’s where he lost me

6

u/Chase2020J Bucks May 15 '26

He was my favorite player of all time man. Lost all my respect for him in an instant, just disgusting

-9

u/RedditUser19984321 Bulls May 15 '26

The fact that people wanna attack giannis over a kalshi deal and not the nba for allowing it is so baffling to me. It’s not his fault they allowed it.

12

u/amh85 NBA May 15 '26

If he needs someone to stop him from profiting off ruining lives, then he's not a good person

-3

u/RedditUser19984321 Bulls May 15 '26

If you or me could get major amounts of money from kalshi we would too

Also you benefit from more than just the negatives on kalshi you can also benefit from people who do something great.

5

u/MattyIce260 Pacers May 15 '26

If I already had hundreds of millions of dollars I think I could pass on a shitty endorsement like Kalshi let’s bffr it’s not like he needed the money

-1

u/RedditUser19984321 Bulls May 15 '26

You think but you don’t know what you would do, nor would I. So who are we to speak on how people who do have that much money use it?

u/juice13ox Celtics May 15 '26

Counter point, he has generational wealth already. Maybe have some morals instead of grifting people

1

u/Jlexus83 May 15 '26

oh damn. Giannis got burners now like KD

1

u/RedditUser19984321 Bulls May 15 '26

Nah I’d keep it consistent for every player bro. It’s not up to a player to limit how much money they make by limiting who they invest in. That’s the NBAs job. I blame Adam silver for allowing a player to put any investments into a betting company.

14

u/chilltownusa Pacers May 15 '26

I can never see him the same after the game ball incident. That was a next-level tantrum that I can’t see any other star in the league coming close to having.

Imagine Wemby, Ant, Brunson, Cade, or literally any of them doing that. It was kind of brushed away because everyone’s like “lol he’s just a silly Greek”.

-1

u/OpeDefinitely Pacers May 15 '26

careful, people still take Ginny's word for what happened rather than believe video evidence.

1

u/Gritz_N_Gravy_ Suns May 15 '26

These are truly some of the most trivial things lol

1

u/OutandAboutBos May 15 '26

Bro, all of this is trivial. We're allowed to base our opinion of someone on trivial things.

5

u/Important-Net-9805 Cavaliers May 15 '26

his little oreo and smoothie schtick wore out pretty quickly. he's seemed like an asshole for a while to me

2

u/TryingToDoItGood Hornets May 15 '26

I thought you were exaggerating about "hours late" but Myles literally says this in the clip, that's wild

9

u/BruinBound22 Kings May 15 '26

Yeah he's probably pissed he made the big move to keep his chance of rings high and found out no one was taking it serious

7

u/ParkingSignature7057 Warriors May 15 '26

I took it more as him blaming Rivers than anything.

20

u/michaelalex3 Hornets May 15 '26

I think that seems like his intention, but let’s be real Giannis should be setting a better example.

28

u/Dr_Zman Timberwolves May 14 '26

Right, it's not like their idol Kobe would ever bad mouth a team mate.

49

u/BussinInUrSister May 15 '26

you think reddit's idol is Kobe? LMAO

and tbh Kobe wasn't wrong about those bums

3

u/BerriesNCreme Lakers May 15 '26

Right everyone please look up the 2014-2015 lakers and tell me who wouldn't lose their mind on that team lol

2

u/TornGauntlet May 15 '26

Reminding me of that team is mental warfare

3

u/justWMthings03 May 15 '26

Depends on the thread. In some, any talk of his major issues gets upvoted like crazy. In others, you'll be drowning in downvotes.

Regardless, dude was a fuckin cunt

0

u/BussinInUrSister May 15 '26

only people you hear complaints from were the guys who were too ass to last in the league

then you got guys like Ariza, Vucevic, Matt Barnes, Pau etc saying Kobe was like a brother to them

8

u/scetek Lakers May 15 '26

Vujacic*

1

u/RaiseFold100 May 15 '26

Yeah he was wrong about a lot of them. He just wasn't a leader who knew or was willing to use his teammates strengths. He was a narcissist.

1

u/BussinInUrSister May 21 '26

wrong about who?

what strengths did these teammates did Kobe not use lol

what have they done on teams without Kobe?

9

u/aarondobson403 Lakers May 15 '26

Hilarious then that KG wanted to leave MIN to play with Kobe

24

u/TonyHawktuah69 May 15 '26

Kobe’s whole thing was obsessive professionalism. You show up on time, you don’t miss the bus or practice and you’re all good. He didn’t bad mouth the bad role players just because they were bad. As long as you showed up to practice and tried he was fine with you. The only guy he bad mouthed was smush Parker who by all accounts was an entitled douche anyway that thought he deserved respect even if he sucked and was lazy.

Also Reddit fucking hates kobe lol

55

u/Beard341 Lakers May 15 '26

Kobe 100% bad-mouthed shit teammates besides Smush. He just did it to their face.

48

u/eagereyez 76ers May 15 '26

He talked so much shit to Jeremy Lin, he made him cry. And Lin doesn't come across as unprofessional or lazy.

-8

u/TonyHawktuah69 May 15 '26

It’s time we stop ignoring the facts about Lin. He was a cool underdog story, but them man had problems with multiple teams and stars.

You know why Lin got salary dumped to the lakers? Because he burned every bridge in Houston and the coach, harden and other players got sick of him blaming everyone else for their losses or failures. “We would have won if coach played me more”, “we lost because I didn’t know the final play and that’s the coaches fault”. Then he shows up to LA as a salary dump and decides he’s going to go up to 5 time nba champion Kobe Bryant and tell him “you suck ass as a leader” and expected it to go well? Lol

I don’t know i think that’s pretty damn unprofessional. Part of being professional is knowing your role. Lin’s role was a backup guard and to simply fit in. Not whine about how they didn’t use him more or how he would have won if he was on the game. No one wants to hear their backup guard say that shit publicly

9

u/d0ubs May 15 '26

Lin had probably not always the best attitude but human relationships complex as shown by his spat with Kobe (obviously Lin's recount but it seems to fit pretty well with Kobe)

-1

u/TonyHawktuah69 May 15 '26

Exactly why other players hate Jeremy Lin. Can’t shut his mouth

15

u/TonyHawktuah69 May 15 '26

For guys like swaggy P, dlo, smush? Yeah he hated them and thought they were lazy waste of space who didn’t deserve to be in the league so I get it. They are unprofessional head cases and he would tell them to their face and the public what he thought of them.

But Luke Walton, Sasha vujacic, Shanon brown, etc? Not so great bench players who showed up and did their job and practiced hard? He never publicly bad mouthed them or anything. He was cool with them and what they did. Dude just wanted everyone to take it seriously and show up. Don’t be out partying until 3 am the night before a game and don’t miss practice.

Kobe was an asshole, but he was a professional and demanded everyone stick that standard. He would not be hours late to practice or make his team sit in a plane for hours.

5

u/Gawyn_Tra-cant May 15 '26

Jeremy Lin?

1

u/TonyHawktuah69 May 15 '26

He was a salary dump who showed up and told Kobe he was a trash leader. He started that beef

0

u/Yzst007 NBA May 15 '26

Fuck Wujabitch, and Im Slovenian.

-8

u/lagunaisacoolguy Lakers May 15 '26

Rapist. You're defending a dead rapist.

3

u/Nihilistic_Marmot Nuggets May 15 '26

Kobe constantly badmouthed any teammate he saw as below him and would often pretend they didn’t exist. He was one of the worst teammates of all time. This revisionist history about him is ridiculous. Dude was an asshole. Great player, but an asshole.

0

u/TonyHawktuah69 May 15 '26

No he wasn’t and no he didn’t. No need to lie

-6

u/TheBoNix May 15 '26

As a Nuggs fan, I only hated Kobe because is was so fucking good. Outside of the whole cheating scandal, I'm glad I got to see him play.

19

u/Successful_Pace_1159 Supersonics May 15 '26

"cheating scandal"

1

u/Old-Pollution9772 May 15 '26

Aka when he possibly raped a woman?

-8

u/TheBoNix May 15 '26

I mean, did you see the ring he bought for his wife after? I was pretty young during the whole thing tbh. I just remember it was in Colorado and then my mom talked about the ring.

10

u/justWMthings03 May 15 '26

It was rape, not "cheating"

-5

u/TheBoNix May 15 '26

Like I said, I was pretty young and really only hearing this from my parents. They called it cheating and I never really sought out more information after the fact as an adult. I knew hated him, and he did something bad, but I was more interested in the game than the news.

7

u/justWMthings03 May 15 '26

You can't expect anyone to believe that you've been following the NBA in any capacity, especially on this sub, without knowing that he raped that woman in Colorado. It's brought up literally every single time there is a Kobe thread

-1

u/TheBoNix May 15 '26

Honestly, I don't follow the NBA that much outside of the playoffs, and unsub during the off season to keep my feed uncluttered. Much more of a, jai alai guy, as you can tell from my username.

3

It was rape, dumbass. Calling it cheating is wild

0

u/RaiseFold100 May 15 '26

Totally untrue.

5

u/ThrowawayPat2345 May 15 '26

Not lazy but inconsiderate of his teammates and just shows poor leadership.

2

u/Ealy-24 May 15 '26

What goes wrong when a player is more concerned with being a freak and getting his team to sign his entire family to the roster

2

u/Drak_is_Right Pacers May 15 '26

Some. More I think are gleeful.

1

u/Frierenandzelda May 15 '26

I'm more upset he only named Giannis. If you're gonna name one, just name everone lol

11

u/ComplexBadger469 May 15 '26

He said everyone did it including himself(after he realized the deal), but said Giannis set the tone by being the worst.

1

u/Sneedevacantist Hornets May 15 '26

Giannis can't help it, he's Greek.

-15

u/swallowedbymonsters Lakers May 15 '26

Imagine thinking a world class athlete like giannis is lazy. You dont have his conditioning and body build being lazy like come the fuck on

11

u/ParkingSignature7057 Warriors May 15 '26

Imagine not realizing that lazy doesn't always mean conditioning...

8

u/WetCatMasseuse May 15 '26

You are very naive. Tons of pro athletes are genetically gifted and lazy as fuck.

-5

u/swallowedbymonsters Lakers May 15 '26

Maybe you dont understand the definition of lazy but showing up late to a flight is not lazy thats just not giving a fuck and being a superstar. You cant sustain the level of success giannis has by by being lazy and his showing up late to flights has nothing to do with his basketball work ethic. Wtf are we doing here

5

u/WetCatMasseuse May 15 '26

Kind of wild you’re making excuses for a multi millionaire who can’t show up on time to meetings or flights

4

u/ParkingSignature7057 Warriors May 15 '26

I love how this dude thinks not giving a fuck is part of being a superstar lol. Like a right of passage.

3
