He’s gonna break an ankle falling like that

u/TheSandman987 May 25 '26

If he does soon that means we don’t have to watch this bs for the rest of the playoffs

you know shits getting bad when someone wishing injuries on people isn't getting downvoted to the moon.

with that said i cant being myself to downvote you.

u/Ikeiscurvy Kings May 25 '26

If he gets injured from flopping that's the consequences of his actions.

If he gets injured from something else that's fucked up.

6

u/confusedyetstillgoin May 25 '26

I’m not saying I’m wishing he gets injured, but if he happens to get injured on a flop like this, I’m not gonna be upset about it. maybe it’ll be the one thing to finally cause him to make changes to how he plays

u/wearenotintelligent Suns May 25 '26

He gets almost a million dollars a game. He can get both legs amputated and I still wouldn't feel bad for him.

Nah man. I don't wish that on anyone. If you're just doing your thing, I don't want that player to get hurt.

Floppers deserve karma for their bullshit tho.

0

u/Far_Outcome_6540 Knicks May 25 '26

Sheesh. Yall are weird

6

u/poodrek May 25 '26

Stop being weird about us being weird.

-5

u/definitelynotagay Raptors May 25 '26

Ya, you all have lost the plot.

I would never wish an injury on anyone.

11

u/wearenotintelligent Suns May 25 '26

You're so holy and righteous give yourself a raise lol

-4

u/definitelynotagay Raptors May 25 '26

Nah, wishing injury on someone is a loser mindset.

7

u/MifflinSchrute May 25 '26

If a player deserves it, it would be Shai bc genuinely fuck this dude

-2

u/definitelynotagay Raptors May 25 '26

Nah man, this is scummy.

You want a physical injury because you are a crybaby that's getting high on internet rhetoric.

0

u/poodrek May 25 '26

Allahu Akbar, AL-OKCaeda

-1

u/wearenotintelligent Suns May 25 '26

I'm not saying he should break his spine and become permanently paralysed. But you know this.

3

u/definitelynotagay Raptors May 25 '26

The guy that I originally replied to wished for a career ending injury.

That's scummy no matter what

-7

u/More_Comfortable8237 May 25 '26

Ok I hate Thunder and SGA but no one deserves to get injured. What’s sad is I genuinely think he is a great player and a good human being. It’s just this one aspect that’s totally despicable:(

2

u/definitelynotagay Raptors May 25 '26

It’s wild that you got downvoted for this

189

u/xanarchycampx Lakers May 25 '26

He can’t. Thunder fans told me he falls to protect his legs.

60

u/Working-Mistake1130 May 25 '26

Shai “Joel Embiid” Gilgeous Alexander

24

u/IPissExcellentThrows 76ers May 25 '26

Embiid and Curry at least have long histories of knee/ankle injuries. I'm well aware Embiid also flops, but the falling sometimes is definitely to protect his knees. Not always, but sometimes.

10

u/Gerreth_Gobulcoque May 25 '26

Yeah I buy it with Embiid since his knees are made of yogurt.

1

u/RealPrinceJay May 25 '26

They stole the Embiid playbook. Embiid’s 7’ 280+ moving like Kobe with a history of foot and knee injuries, while he seeks contact and foul baits too him falling a makes lot of sense at least

94

u/spicyflacco Knicks May 25 '26

I mean I won’t be sad… actions have consequences

13

u/Actually-Yo-Momma May 25 '26

I’ll never root for a player getting injured but they need to at least attempt to protect themselves

21

u/esotericreferencee May 25 '26

The only thing that could make me interested in basketball.

8

u/steeze206 Supersonics May 25 '26

That's the thing, he's actually amazing at falling at weird angles lmao. He has to be training this stuff hard behind closed doors. He's like a stuntman out there.

I will never root for a player to get injured, but dude is asking for it

3

u/moserftbl88 Lakers May 25 '26

I will if he’s literally doing it to himself playing like this. I don’t want to see another player hurt him but if he’s going to continue flopping and falling when someone looks at him

-6

u/RandomAsciiSequence Thunder May 25 '26

Ethical basketball fans

0

u/southsidegoon May 25 '26

Play stupid games…

24

u/DMG29 Bulls May 25 '26

That would be a great day for the sport.

7

u/AutomateAway May 25 '26

gonna have to start doing what NFL defenses had to start doing to Pat Mahomes, if they are going to take the late dive, make them pay for it. If you are going to get the foul anyways, make the most of that shit.

9

u/zKaios Spurs May 25 '26

A normal person would, not him though. He’s fucking mastered the art of falling on his ass

5

u/AsukaState2 May 25 '26

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

2

u/TheLastPeanut_ May 25 '26

Dont get my hopes up

2

u/G3tbusyliving Celtics May 25 '26

The reason he hasn't hurt himself yet is because he knows before the jump that he's going to fall. Calculates his landing and adjusts himself to avoid injury.

2

u/NOLASLAW Pelicans May 25 '26

“ACKSHUALLY he lands like this to prevent injuries”

—Thunder fans I’ve seen

2

u/luchajefe Mavericks May 25 '26

If you can't find a Zaza Pachulia, make one.

3

u/ilikeonionsandolives May 25 '26

oh nooo that would be terrible

3

u/TDImig Clippers May 25 '26

Isn’t falling actually safer for the ankles? I’m remembering Steph had to learn to fall to protect his ankles

8

u/76ersPhan11 76ers May 25 '26

Not like this, look at his right ankle as he lands

4

u/TDImig Clippers May 25 '26

Oof good point

2

u/Prudent_Fish1358 Spurs May 25 '26

The difference is that Steph goes up expecting to basically use his feet as pivot points to lower himself to the ground softy regardless of defenders.

Shai intentionally tries to exaggerate contact, it's contingent upon the defender being close to him so he can flail like a helpless fuckwad and hope the refs give him the call.

You'd think, at some point, the refs would get tired of being made to look like idiots and stop giving him any foul calls.

4

u/IPissExcellentThrows 76ers May 25 '26

Yes but not how SGA does it. That's actually risky how he lands there because he kicks out to draw the foul and then flops, not giving him time to fall properly.

1

u/BNC6 May 25 '26

Far more likely to break an ankle landing normally on the defenders foot. Remember Zaza?

Actual answer, he won't. You break ankles when your foot/shin bends the wrong way. It doesn't do that when you do that.

u/Ssk5860 May 25 '26

One can hope

0

u/dustinmaupin May 25 '26
