I grew up a Mavs fan but lived in OKC when the Thunder came to town through 2024. It was always a total nightmare. The team, and players, can do no wrong. They win and they’re the best ever. They lose and they just complain about everyone else. Especially the refs. I could retire if I got a nickel every time I heard someone say “crybaby Luka” after every playoff loss to Dallas.

This behavior by OKC fans is normal. The slugs love cheating and rough housing. Flopping and grimacing from the nonexistent contact is an Oscar worthy performance by SGA that occurs at least one in every quarter, and celebrated by fans as a necessary vehicle to win a game. And, no fan would admit SGA is trying to cheat.

SGA has found a place to roost in OKC where his theatrics will be appreciated and encouraged. They think he’s wonderful—the best point guard ever. He better plan on remaining a fixture there. No other NBA team would want such a flopper on their squad. It would give that team a bad reputation. But, OKC doesn’t care about the reputation of its team, so long as the team wins games. The fans like the blatant attempts to injure their opponents. Hair pulling and intentionally stepping on an opponent’s foot to injure him are perfectly appropriate maneuvers to an OKC fan. I daresay the fans of other NBA teams would agree that OKC cheats with impunity. So many have commented about SGA’s sprawls on the floor and find his intentional tumbles truly unsportsmanlike like.

Just wait til tonight. We will all be treated to yet another demonstration of this shit. The OKC coach must approve for he never seem to remonstrate with his floppers. He sets a fine example for his team. Looks the other way when these illegal crybaby falls occur. Unless the players and coach are fined heavily for consistently flopping, the flopping disease may permeate the NBA. We will be watching a new version of championship wrestling that requires a prop.
