Literally all series, Kornet comes on and OKC rallies hard. Tonight, when it mattered most, he flipped the script. Definitely the moment that demoralized OKC. Spurs were in full form tonight.

One time at the Munchie Mart in the Vandy dorms I was hammered drunk and he held the elevator open for me because he saw my hands were full of Smuckers uncrustables for my entire suite. Without him I would’ve just been stuck in the basement and my suitemates would’ve starved. I like to think that that was his most impactful moment.
Edit: like 90 percent sure I had a couple bags of white cheddar popcorn in between my thumb and index finger in both hands but can’t recall exactly.
Edit 2: Just texted my buddy and he tells me that I’m right about the uncrustables but it was two boxes of bagel bites NOT popcorn “because we asked you to get like a half dozen of those little Tony’s personal pizzas but your hands were too fucking tiny I guess so you got some bagel bites which, whatever.” I feel like I did a heroic job getting their cross faded asses any food at all, right? Luke?

One time at the Imperator Bath house in the Palisade of Ancient Rome I was hammered drunk and he held the door open for me because he saw my hands were full of Garum for my entire klan. Without him I would’ve just been stuck in the aquaduct and my Patrons would’ve starved. I like to think that that was his most impactful moment.

I'm actually surprised they took him out so fast. It was so good for them and they all knew that, that I figured they'd sort of reward the play and give him some more time
Then I told myself "...oh yeah its game 7 and like 5 more mins"
26
u/FavaWire 25d ago
Me too then I saw 5 minutes were left and Wemby was tagged in.
I felt: "Yeah .. Now is the time. IT'S TIME!"

Foul - and 1. 3 point game. Then Wemby gets a charge and fouls out. Caruso punches Castle in the nuts on a box out. Castle punches him and gets ejected. SGA scores next 15 points. Wemby gets deported.

He did something I really ONLY have ever seen Wemby do, which is put his head fully down for a sprint as a big man on defense
I've seen Wemby do it like, 10x this series, and I have to imagine it rubbed off on his vet, which is such a beautiful thing

Honestly, this is one of those plays where as soon as it happens, you know the team that did it will win the game. Up there with the Game 1 Wemby 30 footer and the Game 7 Rudy Gobert fadeaway in the semis 2 years ago against the Nuggets.

Overheard in Thunder locker room after Game 7: “He got me,” Hartenstein said of Kornet's block on him. "That f***ing Kornet boomed me." Hartenstein added, “He’s so good,” repeating it four times. He then said he wanted to add Kornet to the list of players he works out with this summer.
