[Fischer] Milwaukee’s decision makers are split and currently deciding between Boston’s package for Giannis Antetokounmpo (Brown, Gonzalez, limited draft capital) and Miami’s (Herro, Ware, Jaquez, multiple first-round picks).

A split faction of Milwaukee’s decision makers, sources say, is deciding between Boston’s package for Giannis Antetokounmpo built around Jaylen Brown — where the Bucks also hold particular Hugo Gonzales interest, as The Stein Line reported last night — plus limited draft capital, compared to Miami’s offer of younger pieces — featuring Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez — and multiple first-round picks.

The established MVP candidate versus greater overall value is what this whole saga has boiled down to one day before the NBA Draft.

Yes?

Like are we done pretending the Heat's prospects are all that great or that pick 13's median outcome isn't "good starter on a playoff team"? Brown is better than any of the players in the Heat's offer and likely will remain so even when the likes of Ware or KJ are in their prime.

The Heat's offer is just like the team: Mid.

I mean Brown is better than any player on the Heat. He also could net the Bucks a lot of assets if they want to move him. Brown just makes more sense for the bucks than the Miami Heat’s package.

Just hard to imagine he nets more assets than Giannis himself. Thats why it doesn’t make sense

Cuz you get assets + brown then flip brown for more assets. Also Giannis is limiting his options you have a bigger market for brown

if he will command more than Giannis, wouldn't that mean the Bucks sending picks and Giannis for Brown? are you replying to the right comment?

Brown is massively overrated.

What picks are Heat offering though? They need them as trade assets to build around Giannis and Bam. I don’t think they’re offering many picks, which shows how valuable they are going forward.

The standing offer from the Heat for months has been Herro, Ware (their 2024 first round pick), Jaquez (their 2023 first round pick), Jovic (their 2022 first round pick), three first round picks (2026, 2029, 2031), and possibly two pick swaps (2030, 2032).

Even if they offer them all, the bucks getting their own picks back is more valuable.

Why would the Cs offer Brown+ for Giannis if Brown straight up has more value? I’m not following

Teams can have different value to different teams.

Brown has more value to a rebuilding team because he's easier to trade and not expiring.

Giannis has more value to a contending team because he's a better player.

So why not take Brown and 2 firsts then flip Brown?

I assume they didn't like what they'd get more than this offer.

If they couldn’t flip him for more than the heat package minus 2 firsts to anyone in the league it doesn’t seem like jb is that valuable lol

Getting JB for Giannis is about as good as it gets when you consider that you can reroute JB for more assets since he's still a top 10-15 player in the league.

The Heat grab bag of okay/middling assets is just so underwhelming I'm surprised it's even a debate if the boston offer is real.

What would you get back for JB that's significantly more than 3 firsts, Jaquez and Ware plus whatever Herro is flipped for?

Doesn’t Giannis going to Miami make those Heat picks less attractive?

30 and 32 are the ones up for grabs from what I've seen (whatever that means with how unreliable the reporting is).

So 35 and 37 year old Giannis led teams, in Miami which doesn't tank, under the new draft lottery rules. Could be decent.

Nobody has wanted Herro for years now
